aren’t HIV meds today a lot less harsh? I wonder why their doctors don’t switch older survivor’s regimens in order to mitigate that stomach bloating, shoulder hump, and facial wasting. I realize that most are lucky to be alive but I also know that looks are an issue many of them struggle with. My own therapist wrote papers on facial wasting on gay men and the effects it has on their self esteem. I just wonder if the older survivors are locked in to certain meds now since that’s what they started with, or if their physical effects are permanent.
Older poz guys with the physical effects of HIV meds

I'm happy for my facial wasting -- I look great in photos. The hump and distended upper abdomen, I could do without. On balance, though, it's better than AIDS.

No human being can be this stupid.
Therefore, we must conclude you're a sock puppet.

Yes, genius OP. Once the meds are discontinued or replaced with newer versions, any previous physical side effects neatly resolve on their own.
