Identifying a Trump voter.

The subtle signs... the ones who are too embarrassed to admit they were hoodwinked. How can you tell?

by Anonymousreply 123August 25, 2019 12:01 AM

Belly and white legs.

by Anonymousreply 1August 19, 2019 4:24 PM

Why are you Obessessed about trump supporters. Why do you care what they think and why they voted for him in the first place. I don't think they are busy wondering why you voted for Hillary.

by Anonymousreply 2August 19, 2019 4:25 PM

[quote]Identifying a Trump voter...

seems like a colossal waste of time.

Because I hate hypocrites and want them out of my life r2. Gone!

by Anonymousreply 4August 19, 2019 4:26 PM

White male, drives a truck.

by Anonymousreply 5August 19, 2019 4:27 PM

Like ex-cult members, they're never quite 'free'. Weak-minded to begin with, they're vulnerable to relapsing. A perplexed look in their eyes, waiting for the next charismatic leader to emerge to tell them what to do.

by Anonymousreply 6August 19, 2019 4:28 PM

fat, stupid, bigoted and greedy psychopaths, just like their idol

by Anonymousreply 7August 19, 2019 4:28 PM

Pickup truck with a dog in the back, parked on the grass in front of the house. Unfinished woodworking project in the driveway. Empty beer cans in trash can, not in recycling bin.

by Anonymousreply 8August 19, 2019 4:29 PM

R4. Are you sure they are in your life or your imagination. How can you want someone that was never in your life gone. It won't be that difficult to know if a family member or friends voted for trump.

by Anonymousreply 9August 19, 2019 4:30 PM

I don't think working-class white men in trucks is a solid lead. But I would say a willingness to believe various conspiracy theories, remaining silent when someone makes an anti-dump remark, and making positive comments about the current economy.

by Anonymousreply 10August 19, 2019 4:33 PM

Not all trump supporters are rednecks that drive a truck. Some live in urban areas and in the suburbs. The stereotype is laughable. I have met educated new yorkers with careers who voted for trump.

by Anonymousreply 11August 19, 2019 4:33 PM

r10, i second that

by Anonymousreply 12August 19, 2019 4:35 PM

LBH, for a lot of you, the only people 'in your life' are posters on DL and various SM, pornstars and instahos and neighbors you already avoid.

It's ok, guys. You've got this covered! đź‘Ť

by Anonymousreply 14August 19, 2019 4:42 PM

I have a conservative friend who gets very quiet when we are slamming the Orange Menace. I think she voted for Trump and is always doing "research" about immigrations. Claiming Americans will fill those jobs and bitching about taxes.

by Anonymousreply 15August 19, 2019 4:49 PM

See R2.

by Anonymousreply 16August 19, 2019 4:49 PM

Have gun stickers on their cars.

by Anonymousreply 17August 19, 2019 4:53 PM

Very useful thread. Too much time and energy has been spent worrying over the motivation of these dullards but little focus has been placed as to identifying them before its too late.

Not a definitive list but a good "field guide" to identifying stealth Deplorables.

1. they have fallen for con artists in the past, usually MLM schemes.

2. Have a sketchy employment history and a history of leaving jobs in a melodratic manner

3. Usage of the term "ALL Lives matter"

4. They are apt to stay silent when the subject of evil republicans come up or are apt to say something like "They are ALL crooked and corrupt"

5. Have been tricked or conned out of money or valuables in an intimate relationship ( usually someone met online)

6 usage of the pharse "at my work"

7. when the subject of the 2016 election comes up they make some kind of comment like " I didn't like either choice" That one is pretty much a direct confession.

8 Angry. All deplorbs are angry. At what they aren't sure, but they are all angry. Some are less overt than others but stratch a deplorable and you will find a rage.

9. Irrationally hate Hillary Clinton. Not just dislike or disagree with, but you are looking for signs they were mommy triggered by Hillary Clinton. This is a tricky one because you might think you are talking to a Deporable but in fact have encountered a Jill Stien supporter or a Bernie Or Bust Bro or Broette. Run from all of these.

10. Have a history of bad judgement. They are rarely correct about anything. Have no gut check reliability. Like you if you make them feel less stupid and angry.

by Anonymousreply 18August 19, 2019 5:11 PM

I would honestly be curious about that r15. Does she think people who hire illegal immigrants should be arrested, or only the immigrants? I would love to know that.

by Anonymousreply 19August 19, 2019 5:18 PM

As long as they are getting a few extra dollars in their pockets as a result of tax cuts they don’t care about the rest of humanity

by Anonymousreply 20August 19, 2019 5:30 PM

They’re my in-laws.

by Anonymousreply 21August 19, 2019 5:45 PM

Look up their voter registration data online, if available. I'm fortunate to live on the lovely island of Manhattan where only 65K dicks and cunts voted for the daughterfucker. If you avoid the upper east side, and wall street, you might hardly ever run in to one. He even lost the Repug primary in Manhattan to John Kasich. The 2 Magats that I know voted for him, now both deny that they did.

Both are hispanic. One came here illegally, paid an American bitch to marry him. He's obsessed with white circumcised dicks, and is against gay marriage, an he peek English lie diss. The other is just a selfish, dumb cunt.

by Anonymousreply 22August 19, 2019 5:56 PM

[quote] As long as they are getting a few extra dollars in their pockets as a result of tax cuts they don’t care about the rest of humanity

r18, back again. This post inspired me.

11 th sign you might be talking to a Deplorable: They THINK they are much richer than they are. "Wealthy" deplorbs often think that, because they have a couple of hundred thousand dollars in equity, that they are the 1/100 of the 1 % benefiting from Drumps tax cuts. So sign number 11: They THINK they are gettiing extra tax benefit but if a few years they will actually be paying more than ever in taxes.

by Anonymousreply 23August 19, 2019 5:56 PM

Prone to believe conspiracy theories.

by Anonymousreply 24August 19, 2019 7:29 PM

R24. Like liberals are not prone to believe in conspiracy theories. Some post on DL is filled with conspiracies.

by Anonymousreply 30August 19, 2019 9:23 PM

They’ll tell you they voted for Stein but obsess over guns and bullshit like that. Less than 1% of the people in my town voted for Stein and I’ve heard “Well I couldn’t bring myself to vote for either Clinton or Trump”. Riiiiiight bitch, so who are the 47% in my town who voted for him because no one admits it,

by Anonymousreply 31August 19, 2019 9:35 PM

Just look around, they're EVERYWHERE.

by Anonymousreply 32August 19, 2019 9:41 PM

I've met two gay (white) guys since I moved to my rural county three years ago; both of them have rainbow flags on their trucks and both of them voted for Trump.

Just sayin'.

I wish that the Democrats would commission polls that asked Trump supporters about other topics, so we would have a more complete understanding of the people that hate us, that we are supposed to care about. For example:

"Do you believe that homo sapiens should have the right to marry?". I guarantee that 40 percent would say, no.

"Do you believe that the Clinton's have paid to murder their enemies?". 80 percent, yes. ] "Do you believe that Caucasian people are more intelligent than other races?" 90 percent, yes.

I'm reminded of the ESL teacher who was fired after receiving complaints that he had been teaching homonyms!

R35. At least we know what you look like and stop projecting your inner hideous face unto others.

by Anonymousreply 39August 20, 2019 1:16 PM

R31, it may have been Russian hacking. Seriously. I find Trumpers to be fearful as hell. Scared trees will call on their home so they cut them all down. Frightened that the dog food they feed is now poisonous. Freaking out about local news and national news story. Alerting the neighborhood that blacks are driving through. Sure that Sharia law is right around the corner. Carrying a gun to the grocery store. Thinking the Mexican kid mowing the lawn is a rapist. Voting for Trump. Pussies and cowards.

by Anonymousreply 40August 20, 2019 1:23 PM

Delusional old women who want their pussies grabbed.

People who didn't go to college and can't name the 3 branches of government.

by Anonymousreply 41August 20, 2019 1:50 PM

Increasingly vocal and irate about the (perceived) marginalization and victimization of the straight, white, middle-aged male. The struggle is real, y'all.

by Anonymousreply 42August 20, 2019 1:57 PM

The single most defining characteristic of a deplorable is energized stupidity. They are rage junkies who, despite every conceivable advantage are preoccupied with grievances and self serving narratives of alleged oppression

They are prone to con artists (Like Drumph) because they are driven by feelings they themselves don't begin understand. Along comes Drumph or some other flim flam artist and feeds them the following message

"It’s not your fault, your not crazy: there is a plot to keep your greatness under wraps and you have no responsibility for it: I however have the answer, give me your vote, money, trust, keys to your car, and I will correct the situation in the world that has been holding your magnificent self back, I get you, I hear you. I will fix it"

THIS is what they want: To have their perceived superiority and victim status affirmed and they will open their pockets to anyone who can deliver it.

They can be relatively prosperous or (most often) poor but as long as they are harboring this emotional agenda, Drumpf or any other con artist will be able to play them.

Nobody can wake them up. They have to rouse themselves out of it. We need to ignore them and focus on turnout because there are more of us than there are of him.

by Anonymousreply 43August 20, 2019 2:13 PM

r43, here again.

Just want to add that the other defining characteristic of a deplorable is being a bully. They percieve power as the successful belittlement of another person or organization. That IS the win for them, they don't care if they burn down the house because they are so angry at who they think owns the house.

Hillary was 100% correct in identifying this core of support for Trump in 2016 and the media allowed it to become a negative. We were pretty naive back then.

by Anonymousreply 44August 20, 2019 2:21 PM

The media made Trump. It was nonstop free coverage for his incoherent snake oil shilling ass. Their ratings when up 38% and they LOVE him for it. I'm not sure why he's biting the hand that literally handed him the presidency (the only thing keeping him out of jail). It's as stupid as him leaving all those bills to city governments who clean up after and protect his gathering of the deplorables rallies. I mean, it's a swath of giant unpaid bills.

by Anonymousreply 45August 20, 2019 2:28 PM

[quote] Bernie Or Bust Bro or Broette.

It's a Bernadette.

by Anonymousreply 46August 20, 2019 2:39 PM

I have a few good friends who voted for Trump and almost all of my family (brother, niece and hubby, uncle and aunt and my cousins (except for one). From this sample of people, here is my list:

1) Baptists (my family only). The friends are Catholics.

2) Own guns and get very upset when you mention gun control

3) Are afraid to order products online because they fear that their credit card and personal information will be compromised (family only). My friends seem to be okay with ordering online.

4) Fox News is their primary source of information. They also believe everything that is posted on FB or published by their right wing fake news sources.

5) Many of them cut and pasted the FB message that pictures that they posted to FB would used for something and they needed to post a statement to protect their pictures. Also the one about seeing the same 25 people's posts.

6) Against all abortions regardless of the circumstances. Don't even mentioned Planned Parenthood.

7) Seem to have an attitude of "I got mine", fear of immigrants (especially Muslims), have no friends who have money issues and prefer to hand around only with people who think like they do.

8) Think all "Dems" want the U.S. to become a socialist country and to eliminate capitalism.

by Anonymousreply 47August 20, 2019 2:40 PM

r47 9) use the words "colored, oriental, beaners" as regular words.

10) have an aggresive attitude toward all women

11) Identify self-worth with objects and how much they cost.

by Anonymousreply 48August 20, 2019 2:52 PM

^^^ Excellent synopsis, R47, and good additions, R48.

Sadly, my experiences, too.

by Anonymousreply 49August 20, 2019 2:54 PM

Fucking terrified of Antifa. Love the police. Regularly say, "I was spanked as a child and I turned out fine". They are visibly not fine.

by Anonymousreply 50August 20, 2019 3:09 PM

You can also identify them in casual conversation. When you go to lunch and they complain that "these people" should not make 15 dollars an hour. If they pray before they eat any meal, you can assume they are praying to the orange cheeto. Bring up football if they say " I don;t watch the NFL anymore" or "I only watch college ball now" You can bet they are a Trump supporter.

by Anonymousreply 51August 20, 2019 3:22 PM

R51. Like religious democrats don't pray before eating. Your stereotype of a typical trump supporter is laughable and ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 52August 20, 2019 3:52 PM

Low self-esteem.

by Anonymousreply 53August 20, 2019 3:55 PM

[quote] our stereotype of a typical trump supporter is laughable and ridiculous.

Comments like the one above are a clear deplorable tell. They don't react well to any kind of criticism ( much like their big orange asshole leader) so they revert to calling any and all critics "laughable " or "ridiculous" for believing there are unifying traits among this class of dullards.

In short Drump supporters are deluded bullies with a persecution complex and a working tolerance for racism and white supremecist concepts.

Every. Last. one of them.

How do I know? Drump has not delivered on anything other than bullying, deluded racist rhetoric with a leaning toward white supremecist tropes.

He has LITERALLY DONE NOTHING ELSE

by Anonymousreply 54August 20, 2019 5:34 PM

The fears of pet food being poisonous, and one's personal identifying and financial information made vulnerable to data breaches are not right-wing paranoia.

The Kroger-brand cat food we tried gave our elderly cat seizures. We're left-wing, live in a very "blue" and progressive city, in a blue and progressive state. The hackers who breached Equifax's servers and databases did not make a distinction of political preference.

Being obsessed with materialism, eager for confrontation on any subject (Q: "What's the emissions rating on this scooter?" Trump voter: "Why the hell do you care?"), preference for "gut," "feel," in their vocabulary over "mind" and "think," are identifying traits of Trump voters.

by Anonymousreply 55August 20, 2019 5:50 PM

If they think Planned Parenthood is only about abortions and birth control, and not about affordable health screenings and examinations for women, if they're convinced FOX News is a legitimate news channel and that only from that not-actually-licensed-by-the-FCC channel does 'real news' originate, they're Trump voters.

by Anonymousreply 56August 20, 2019 5:55 PM

I have never seen a democrat pray before eating food. Granted my exposure is limited to every restaurant I have never been in but true I am sure some democrats pray to jesus to bless them vittles.

Another trump supporter. Born and raised in NYC and graduated from Lehman studied public health, worked in non profit for years and now retired. The person does volunteer work with kids. Husband graduated from nyu with a degree in psychology and he is a shrink with his own private practice. This couple is not your typical trumpettes you will meet at his rallies. They both like trump for different reasons.

by Anonymousreply 70August 21, 2019 8:16 PM

R65 I suppose it is different here in Chicago, as They are the minority in a blue state. The city itself tends toward very liberal and Democrat controlled everything. I know several, they make their opinions known, and wish to argue them, and defend Trump. My excuse shuts them down that I'm an expat, and not interested in becoming a citizen. I wish they were more quiet here. They can be awfully hyper defensive.

They seem to blame Obama for every problem in human history. The do not seem to understand the the trump tax scam was the tax bill that increased their taxes. They seem to think that screaming incoherently, during a discussion or debate that they started, makes them the auto-winner.

by Anonymousreply 76August 21, 2019 9:17 PM

My brother-in-law threw away his MAGA hat last year. He says Trump is no longer his president. I am hopeful there are many more out there.

When they’re presented with a fully verifiable fact that goes against Trump, they scream “it’s fake news!” Yet, they’ll gladly cite the “fake news” if it’s favorable of Trump. Of course, they watch Fox News all day and into the night. When criticized about their Fox News fetish, they vehemently deny watching it much, but they still use the Fox News talking points.

by Anonymousreply 78August 21, 2019 9:40 PM

Conspiracists, hate the Clintons, and Obama. When you make trump jokes they stay silent or just smile. Care about status and money. Worship the Kardashians.

by Anonymousreply 79August 21, 2019 9:50 PM

Trump supporters cannot weigh information/discern complex information correctly, or they are complete sociopaths. The first group can be easily manipulated and the later do not care, unless they are personally effected.

by Anonymousreply 80August 21, 2019 9:51 PM

they do not understand what the word racist mean.

by Anonymousreply 81August 21, 2019 9:59 PM

R81 Does "racist mean" refer to a noun or an adjective?

by Anonymousreply 82August 21, 2019 10:05 PM

Some look like Mr. Burns. I think Homer voted for Trump and is now embarrassed.

by Anonymousreply 83August 21, 2019 10:59 PM

I've been able to tell, especially if I knew them before Trump. Over the years they've acted and spoke in a racist matter, even if it was mild and occasional. They usually also seemed to hate the poor, especially if they're getting government assistance of any kind, even if they are not well to do themselves.

Then there are those who just look it. I mean look at most Trump voters. You really can tell just by the disgusting sight of them. We've seen the pictures here.

R30 Trumptards love Zygotes. They couldn't care less about babies. They'd rather stab their eyes out than allow a working poor mother to have a few foodstamps to feed her children.

Trumptards = we have no imagination greater than theirs! Let’s try, girl. We’ve got to be on our A game

Usually people who aren't very well spoken complaining about civility, or about some minor faux pas by a Democratic office holder out of the blue. Especially those who make constant "both sides!" arguments. Yawn.

low reading comprehension, as evidence in this thread.

The lower classes have a schizophrenic relationship with things. Pro-military, anti-cop; pro-Trump, anti-Elites; confederate flag/U.S. flag; racist, but they'll enjoy movies and TV with blacks in them; pro-Christian, but break the Commandments daily; anti-Government, but have their hand out always for freebie$.

I've seen this all my life.

Non-college women are finally figuring out DJT won't be grabbing their old, stinky pussies.

Sarah heading to Fox won't change that.

They love REAL men who take what they want, even if it's a 13 year old girl and corroborating witnesses.

The lawsuit alleged a number of charges against both Trump and Epstein, including rape, sexual abuse, assault and battery, and false imprisonment. Johnson said that when she was 13, Epstein lured her to parties at his apartment by promising “money and a modeling career.”

Johnson said Trump had sexual contact with her at four of those parties, including tying her to a bed and violently raping her in a “savage sexual attack.” The lawsuit said Johnson “loudly pleaded” with Trump to stop, but that he responded by “violently striking Plaintiff in the face with his open hand and screaming that he would do whatever he wanted.”

After that, Trump allegedly threatened to harm or kill Johnson and her family if she ever told anyone. Johnson said Trump told her he could make them “disappear” like Maria — a 12-year-old girl Johnson says Trump also forced her to have sexual contact with, and whom Johnson hadn’t seen since that encounter.

Johnson also accused Epstein of raping her “anally and vaginally despite her loud pleas to stop,” and that he “attempted to strike Plaintiff about the head with his closed fists while he angrily screamed that he, Defendant Epstein, rather than Defendant Trump, should have been the one who took Plaintiff’s virginity.”

The court filings also included a statement from “Tiffany Doe,” another anonymous woman, who said that she witnessed the rapes and procured the young girls for the parties, and “Joan Doe,” a classmate of the victim who said she was told about the rapes during the following school year. Tiffany Doe said that Epstein and Trump knew that Johnson was 13.

Chick-Fil-A patron

A stunning ability to compartmentalize and ignore anything that doesn't fit within their worldview

Selfish as can be, no concern for anyone outside of their immediate circle

No intellectual curiosity whatsoever

Hypocrite who will handwave away any wrongdoing by a Repug while demonizing liberals and minorities for relatively minor offenses

by Anonymousreply 116August 23, 2019 2:08 PM

R116, they need to check Chik Fil A's buns for ergot poisoning. These Q believing nutcases are tripping and probably on the scizophrenia spectrum. A thing that I'm pretty sure exists.

Claims they know professionals who voted for Trump, for "reasons" they won't disclose. Could be reasons of: Israel above all, sympathy with men who pimp female teens, racism, misogyny, one's imagination is at work because "reasons." Claims that the nation would be equally or worse off if Trump did not win, champions electoral votes over popular vote.

Apparently, every Jew is a Trump supporter. That does not bode well for the rest of his base, or the Jews...or anyone really. I mean if he can unite the Nazis and the Jews he might be the second coming.

If possible, uglier on the inside than on the outside.

by Anonymousreply 121August 24, 2019 2:38 PM

Says things like "I didn't like either of them" and "Hillary lies" when you ask why they voted for Trump. When confronted with the fact that Trump lies about EVERYTHING and it's proven, they say "all politicians lie."

Each and every one of them is evil.
