Her songs are so terrific (great hooks, and incredibly intelligent lyrics), and she's so talented and so beautiful.
Plus she's a fabulous lipstick lesbian.

Absolutely, OP.
I love her re-worked version of 'Slow Disco' (originally released n MASSEDUCTION).

Wasn't she just this minute the Yoko in the breakup of Sleater-Kinney? Janet Weiss supposedly split on account of Vinnie.

It appears Janet Weiss wasn't enamoured of the Sleater-Kinney's new sound, which Annie Clark encouraged (St. Vincent produced their latest album). I like both S-K and St. Vincent but I have to agree with Weiss: the new album is a bit of a mish mash.

I'll tell you once, I'll tell you twice: you better wise up, Janet Weiss!

I prefer the Grenadines.

I enjoy the majority of her songs and finds her singing voice appealing.

Talented indeed

She's our Joni Mithchell!

From what I've heard of her so far, the song at r1 is the only one I enjoy. Had no idea she was a homosexual.

BUMP

Yes. She’s tremendously talented, but a bit too cold.
Los Ageless has the one of best chorus and hook combos in musical history.
“How can anybody have you...”

She's much closer to David Byrne than Joni Mitchell. But she's her own creation even for that.

R12
My first impression was Joni, with regards to the lyricism.
R13
Interesting juxtaposition.
I’m listening to her again (because of this) and the Byrne influence is exactly right. Big and eclectic and strange.

I had high hopes for her album with David Byrne but was mixed.

That’s funny r2. Kristen Stewart has seduced St Vincent’s women away from her.

Kate Bush is another influence that stands out, to me. The couplet 'Am I thinking what everybody's thinking'? / I'm so glad I came, but I can't wait to leave?' from Fast Slow Disco is pure KB, in both the careful way Annie shapes the phrase and that air of hushed yearning.

She ruined Sleater-Kinney!

Good call, R17

Another contemporary lesbian singer, Aranea Peel, of Grausame Tochter.
