Will Trump debate the Democratic Candidate?

If Trump refuses to debate, the network ought to give the Dems 40 minutes for the P, and 15 minutes for the VP, to make speeches. That’ll keep Trump from skipping the debate, no more than once, anyway.

R13 Its normal convention that the two major candidate for president debate but there is no official rule. He has broken every other convention and I don't think he'll go anywhere near the debate stage. He will say the debates are all sponsored by fake media and he want's nothing to do with them. He'd rather go to one of his MAGA parties where they worship him. Hillary Clinton won all three debates and he isn't going up against any one ever again.

Trump knows nothing. Not the Constitution or policies or how the government even works. He can't debate an intelligent, aggressive opponent without looking like a fool.

I honestly don't think he'll debate. He'll find a way to get around it. IF he does do the debate, it will only be after a lot of negotiating and ridiculous back-and-forth with the network and campaigns about the questions, rules, etc. He always makes things about himself. I bet he even tries to get the debate to be held at one of his properties.

I would LOVE to see Kamala Harris or Elizabeth Warren debate him. They'd wipe the floor with his orange ass and he'd be pissed.

I'm really hoping that whoever debates him gets him so worked up that he appears like a petulant child, even more so than when he debated Secretary Clinton. It won't affect his base, who will revel in the namecalling. But it'll turn off independents.

It depends. He will not participate in any Primary debates with any challengers. Depending on who the Dem candidate is he may decide to not debate. Warren, probably, Biden, definitely, Harris, I doubt it.

I'm still scratching my head trying to remember what an awesome Presidency he has had. Did he bring jobs back to Podunk? No. Did he make yuge infrastructure improvements like he promised, across our great land? No. Did he replace Obamacare with the incredibly awesome Trumpcare? No. Did the billionaire dealmaker make incredible trade deals around the world? No. Did he become more "Presidential" after all the campaigning of 2016? No (he got worse). Did he get N. Korea in line, with all those meetings and love letters? No. Did he apply his genius business acumen to fixing the immigration problem? No (he just talks about it a lot). Did he even build The Wall? No.

Campaigning on the fumes of Obama's successful 8 year presidency is not just dishonest- it's embarrassing.

But the Democrats will continue campaigning on Medicare for illegal aliens; reparations checks for African Americans; and erasing student loans... and they will lose.

I think he will. He will talk over, lie, and bluster. I think regardless of the Democratic candidate, he’ll look like a fool. However, I see only Kamala humiliating him.

He beat all the Republican candidates and beat Hillary. I think it was in part, because these people had some sense of personal dignity and decency. None of them would stoop to his level. Hillary said Trump was “temperamentally unsuited for the Presidency” which was fine, but she should have added that this meant that “he’s batshit crazy”.

The next Dem candidate needs, in a debate, to refer to him as a liar. When he interrupts, she should turn to him and call him a liar and a coward, to his face. Say in front of him, that “we can’t afford a President who is too stupid and lazy to read a briefing report, not that he would understand it.” Call him the stupidest President in history, to his face. Call on him to release his school transcripts. Call him “Donald”. Disrespect him in the debate.

There must be experts who can explain how to rattle him. It shouldn’t be hard to do.
