I just scored a 35!!! Too high.

How about you, bitches?

13. Don't consider myself on the spectrum at all but I am an introvert and get exhausted by people. I suppose that's considered part of the spectrum?

OP did you struggle with the "reading other people part"? There were quite a few of those questions and I personally find that very easy. Some of the questions are in the negative so you have to be careful in your answer selection.

by Anonymousreply 1August 17, 2019 6:20 PM

Actually I do struggle with that r1.

Interestingly, I took this test years ago and scored a 29 or 30. But I don't think I've changed all that much in the interim.

I'm also an INTP, which is spectrum-adjacent, imho.

by Anonymousreply 2August 17, 2019 6:23 PM

9 out of 50.

by Anonymousreply 3August 17, 2019 6:27 PM

6 out of 50.

by Anonymousreply 4August 17, 2019 6:38 PM

Being an introvert and antisocial(not in the sociopathic way) is not being autistic. I too am introverted and don't really like people but at the same time I am a people pleaser, love role playing, very imaginative, and can read people's emotions to a Tee. And its not that I don't really like people i just find most Americans of an average iq insufferable.

by Anonymousreply 5August 17, 2019 6:39 PM

50/50.

Best score!

by Anonymousreply 6August 17, 2019 6:41 PM

Those were my thoughts exactly, R5. I took this a few months ago. Scored a 42. I can live with that; as would be expected.

by Anonymousreply 7August 17, 2019 6:44 PM

I'm also with R5 & I scored 36 - do I get a prize?

by Anonymousreply 8August 17, 2019 6:53 PM

I just scored a 42. Not particularly surprised.

by Anonymousreply 9August 17, 2019 6:55 PM

I got 11. I am awful at small talk. I wish there were a class on how to do it. I feel that I'm overly guarded and don't want to share to much with people that I'm not comfortable with. But I can listen to their shit all day long. I love people talking about themselves, I just don't like to do it.

by Anonymousreply 10August 17, 2019 7:08 PM

23...close to the border of 25. They didn't mention any empathetic situations, which is interesting.

by Anonymousreply 11August 17, 2019 7:16 PM

18 surprised because I've always had really severe social anxiety and when I was younger I had a few teachers suggest that maybe I was autistic. I guess I just hate people.

by Anonymousreply 12August 17, 2019 7:21 PM

r11 I think the ability to read other people's emotions is a form of empathy.

Plus they had a question about imagining that it's like to be another person.

by Anonymousreply 13August 17, 2019 7:23 PM

I joke about it but don't actually hate people. I've always been "too nice" people take advantage of me and it's easier to keep to myself for the most part and be selective about who I get close to. I also just don't have a lot in common with many people so I've never really wanted to be part of the crowd.

by Anonymousreply 14August 17, 2019 7:25 PM

I'm an Ass Burger!

by Anonymousreply 15August 17, 2019 7:33 PM

26. I do a decent job of reading other peoples' emotions but not their intentions. Like to spend time with people but get bored with chitchat. Prefer meaningful interactions. On the one hand, I like predictability at work, but I would lose my mind if I didn't have the opportunity to fulfill other interests. If I don't get it from my job, I'd seek it somewhere else. I'm shy but crave human contact. I honestly wouldn't know how to categorize myself.

by Anonymousreply 16August 17, 2019 7:35 PM

15, as it would be expected. I may be physically inflexible, but, my mind isn’t.

by Anonymousreply 17August 17, 2019 7:36 PM

The impolite question really hit home for me. Saying impolite things has gotten me in quite a bit of trouble, especially with women.

by Anonymousreply 18August 17, 2019 7:46 PM

I scored a 16 . i am an introvert as well. I do well and in social situations but always experience social anxiety before a social engagement. I am a good listener who does not like to talk about myself. Most people are so self-absorbed that they do not notice that I know a lot about them but they know little about me.

by Anonymousreply 19August 17, 2019 8:34 PM

Are you a dumb cunt? Take our quiz!

by Anonymousreply 20August 17, 2019 8:51 PM

r20 this particular quiz was designed by actual researchers, mostly as a self-diagnostic.

by Anonymousreply 21August 17, 2019 9:04 PM

6 is that good?

by Anonymousreply 22August 17, 2019 9:08 PM

33

Not shocked, not-not shocked

by Anonymousreply 23August 17, 2019 9:12 PM

36. Suck it, OP.

by Anonymousreply 24August 17, 2019 9:29 PM

I think age has some effect on your score. I'm 66 and couldn't care less about parties, and social events and I scored 19. But 30 years ago when I was a social butterfly I would have probably scored much lower.

by Anonymousreply 25August 17, 2019 9:36 PM

20. I hate small talk and chitchat at parties, but I love novels and theater, and am very good at observing things about other people.

by Anonymousreply 26August 17, 2019 9:36 PM

I scored 2/50. I'm outgoing and do small talk very easily, am a diplomat and can easily read someone just by their expressions, but I only enjoy parties when i'm in the mood and I overall hate people in general. I do love make believe and work with art, so what does that put me? I'm basically polite and outgoing for survival, I'd much rather not deal with humans at all.

by Anonymousreply 27August 17, 2019 9:42 PM

Your score was 26 out of a possible 50.

Scores in the 26-32 range indicate some Autistic traits (Aspergers Syndrome).

I sometimes wonder if I am. I have been accused more than I care to admit of being "aspie". I prefer to think of myself has an eccentric.

by Anonymousreply 28August 17, 2019 9:49 PM

10. I assume my several autistic traits are my abilities to focus sharply on details, my knack for observation, & my preferences for routine, which to me translates as processes and order which I practice because they work and optimize my work, as well as time.

Other than that, I possess nearly impeccable manners, am warm & friendly. I am extremely sociable, an excellent conversationalist, especially because I know when to shut up & listen.

Anyhow, I’m much too pretty to be an autist. Lol! I kid, I kid.

by Anonymousreply 29August 17, 2019 9:51 PM

43. Think it was 39 the first time I took it. Sadface.

by Anonymousreply 30August 17, 2019 9:58 PM

I got 12. I have autism -isms at all. But, like others on this thread, I find people exhausted. I totally can read them, just don't have the gumption to do it any longer.

by Anonymousreply 31August 17, 2019 10:05 PM

I got 15 and I took this test once before. The last time I took it I got 15 also. I am an introvert and an INTP. I don't think being an introvert has anything to do with autism R1.

by Anonymousreply 32August 17, 2019 10:12 PM

31. Last time I took it - 2 or 3 years ago - I scored in the low 20s or high teens.

by Anonymousreply 33August 17, 2019 10:28 PM

Interesting that scores seem to increase with age

by Anonymousreply 34August 18, 2019 10:13 AM

26. And I’m 29 years old.

by Anonymousreply 35August 18, 2019 10:28 AM

41. Not really a surprise. A close relative was diagnosed with Aspberger's as a child.

I love to read, travel, go to the theater, visit museums...on my own. I get along with people, but I prefer to be on my own.

by Anonymousreply 36August 18, 2019 10:37 AM

6, damn, no aspie here. Can I be rude to people anyway and blame it on autism?

by Anonymousreply 37August 18, 2019 11:26 AM

49 here

by Anonymousreply 38August 18, 2019 11:28 AM

I got a 34 when I took the quiz.

by Anonymousreply 39August 18, 2019 12:23 PM

I got 27. That means I have Asperger's?

by Anonymousreply 40August 18, 2019 1:12 PM

R29 I’ve been told that autistic children tend to be beautiful.

I scored a 26. Was a cute kid but no great beauty.

by Anonymousreply 41August 18, 2019 1:20 PM

I scored a 5, which is good because a high score combined with being a Scorpio would be a lot to bear. For me and everyone around me. If any.

by Anonymousreply 42August 18, 2019 1:39 PM

12 out of 50

If you just put the number and not "out of 50" that means your worse than Burke Ramsey.

by Anonymousreply 43August 18, 2019 1:40 PM

If you just put the number and not "out of 50" that means your worse than Burke Ramsey.

And what does it mean if you used your instead of you're? You're worse than Patsy Ramsay?

by Anonymousreply 44August 18, 2019 2:19 PM

Like r19, I got a 16. I'm an INTJ, introverted and picky about the people I interact with and what I share with them, but I'm very good at sussing out situations and reading people.

And I used to have a fantastic imagination, before I began working in finance and lost all of that.

by Anonymousreply 45August 18, 2019 3:31 PM

I scored a 35 but I was already diagnosed as being on the spectrum.

by Anonymousreply 46August 18, 2019 4:12 PM

Sorry R43 I meant 35 Out of 50.

by Anonymousreply 47August 18, 2019 4:13 PM

R37 You have to get an “emotional support animal” and claim it’s for your “spectrum disorder”

by Anonymousreply 48August 19, 2019 2:40 AM

I scored a 9 and I'm 26, I'm not autistic, I'm just a heartless bitch.

by Anonymousreply 49August 19, 2019 2:56 AM

I scored 36! And, I am INFJ....god help me. I won't even go into my birth sign...

by Anonymousreply 50August 19, 2019 3:02 AM

I got 32, so just on the cusp. But I've always known that I'm weird. The fact that I have a terrible foot in mouth disease and that I abhor any kind of noise (just sound in general, really) are both dead giveaways.

by Anonymousreply 51August 19, 2019 3:10 AM

I got six

by Anonymousreply 52August 19, 2019 3:15 AM

9. I find it easy to read people, but I get tired of being around them. Just because I understand you, doesn't mean I like you.

by Anonymousreply 53August 19, 2019 3:49 AM

I’m 13. Not shocked, I’m an introvert.

by Anonymousreply 54August 19, 2019 3:53 AM

I got blue.

by Anonymousreply 55August 19, 2019 3:57 AM

23/50. Sounds right. I'm awkward and socially inept. They thought I might be when I was a child, before deciding I was just weird. I still wonder sometimes.

[quote] I am not very good at remembering phone numbers.

In this day and age, remembering phone numbers is much less common.

by Anonymousreply 56August 19, 2019 4:08 AM

I scored 10 out of 50 so I'm definitely not retarded.

by Anonymousreply 57August 19, 2019 4:13 AM

r41- a friend of mine has an eight year old autistic girl- she is a gorgeous creature. She is also an amazing artist- draws, paints and plays the piano. Can pick up any tune by ear. Because of her, I can track autistic kids now- their eyes are usually unfocused (or have giant pupils), even looking straight at you, which is a rarity.

by Anonymousreply 58August 19, 2019 10:21 AM

I got 34. I'm on the spectrum but I already suspected it so wasn't surprised.

by Anonymousreply 59August 19, 2019 11:11 AM

This whole thread is on the spectrum. Which makes me feel good as I scored 32! Hi, everyone! Leave me alone!

by Anonymousreply 60August 19, 2019 11:29 AM

I tried to take the test, but I got caught up in which of my many fountain pens I should use to fill it out. Finally, after 2.37 hours, I chose one, but after filling it with ink (took me another 43.5 minutes), I realized that it's online. At that point I was so mentally exhausted that I took a nap.

Does that mean anything?

by Anonymousreply 61August 19, 2019 11:50 AM

Yes, it means your an obsessive compulsive lunatic who should be on medication. Just kidding. LOL

by Anonymousreply 62August 19, 2019 11:55 AM

[quote] Just because I understand you, doesn't mean I like you.

In fact, R53, there may well be a direct cause and effect relationship at work here....

by Anonymousreply 63August 19, 2019 12:49 PM

Your score was 31 out of a possible 50.

Scores in the 26-32 range indicate some Autistic traits (Aspergers Syndrome).

by Anonymousreply 64August 19, 2019 1:35 PM

“Your score was 20 out of a possible 50. Scores in the 0-25 range indicate few or no Autistic traits.“

I had no idea what score to expect. The result doesn’t mean much to me.

by Anonymousreply 65August 19, 2019 1:49 PM

Asking those DLers above who scored 26 or more...does this concern you? I scored well below this, but would be devastated to find out that I was on the spectrum (I have other issues to worry about). Does this mean you are comfortable with your score, or do you just accept that there's nothing you can really do about it? Curious to know how you live with this knowledge.

by Anonymousreply 66August 19, 2019 2:11 PM

OP here r66.

Meh, it doesn't bother me, but my high score surprises me a tad. I know I'm socially awkward and "different" and I too have other issues to worry about (bipolar disorder). I have a fb but I'll probably be single the rest of my life, a truth I'm resigned to.

I enjoy solitary activities: reading, birdwatching, learning to read foreign languages (not so much the speaking part). I'm more curious than most people I know, and also in academia, where spectrum-y traits are rather common.

As a kid, being different bothered me a lot. I never fit in and was frequently bullied. As an adult and as an academic, being different has been an asset.

by Anonymousreply 67August 19, 2019 2:16 PM

r44

If you correct a spelling error that means your an autistic, complete with refrigerator mother.

by Anonymousreply 68August 19, 2019 2:54 PM

r66, at this point in life, I understand myself so well that that I know how to compensate for my "on-the-spectrum" nature when I'm in company or at work. After a lifetime of studying people in groups, I know how to be friendly and sociable when appropriate. I scored 41 out of 50.

Devastated about my score? Hardly. It's not news to me that reading faces and understanding motives comes much more easily to most other people than to me. I have different gifts that most other people don't have. I was able to have a family and build a professional career despite my "on-the-spectrum" nature.

In my professional life, I've been in meetings with the young Bill Gates at Microsoft. He rocked back and forth habitually while speaking and listening; he also exhibited many other characteristics and tendencies that people recognize now as part of being on the autism spectrum. (We used to call this high-functioning kind of autism Aspberger's Syndrome, but that label is no longer used as a diagnosis. We're all just on the autism spectrum now. ) Like me, Gates has become vastly more socialized and socially savvy over the years. I'm sure he's comfortable with his basic nature after all this time, just like me.

by Anonymousreply 69August 19, 2019 2:58 PM

[quote] Asking those DLers above who scored 26 or more...does this concern you?

Not really. I got exactly a 26 and because test results can change the more often you take it. I've been told that I am neurotic and an introvert, but no one has ever pegged me as being on the spectrum. I see it as a byproduct of our increasingly isolated and technological society. I noticed I like to seek out people and keep as friends those who are more adept at social situations, perhaps as a way to compensate.

[quote] The fact that I have a terrible foot in mouth disease and that I abhor any kind of noise (just sound in general, really) are both dead giveaways.

This describes me too. Light sensitive as well.

by Anonymousreply 70August 19, 2019 3:53 PM

In the old days autism was part of schizophrenia.

by Anonymousreply 71August 19, 2019 8:08 PM

I scored 11 out of 50.

by Anonymousreply 72August 19, 2019 8:26 PM

A relative was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and I found when researching it that I had many of the traits, as did many in my wider family. It doesn't have any negative associations for me. Yes, it makes things harder, but life gets you one way or another.

by Anonymousreply 73August 19, 2019 8:42 PM

Yes, R73 -- everyone has at least one cross to bear, the trick is to learn how to overcome it. It's important to realize your own limits, and the sooner the better. Not only am I slightly autistic, I'm also short and the latter has caused me a lot more day to day trouble than the former.

by Anonymousreply 74August 20, 2019 1:39 PM

7/50

by Anonymousreply 75August 20, 2019 1:47 PM

6 here

by Anonymousreply 76August 20, 2019 1:55 PM

I got a 27. But I didn't bother to look at where that places me on the spectrum.

by Anonymousreply 77August 20, 2019 1:57 PM

r74

Thinks he's Ann Romano. Do your egg titties, jiggle when you jog to the door?

by Anonymousreply 78August 20, 2019 2:06 PM

34. Not so bad, right?

by Anonymousreply 79August 20, 2019 2:10 PM

R74 = Beth Ditto

by Anonymousreply 80August 20, 2019 3:50 PM

I got a 0 out of 50, completely and totally sane

by Anonymousreply 81August 20, 2019 4:18 PM

36/50 but should be higher. Aspies are usually really good with numbers but I have Dyscalculia, numerical dyslexia too and I can't do math, remember phone numbers or birth dates and such. Only class I ever failed at school but it wasn't known then. I can however read a book, non-fiction, never fiction, in three hours while my brother, who does not have Aspergers has dyslexia and has never read a book but can do your car or mortgage payment in his head on command.

I was in a Chinese take out last week and a very nice looking tall blonde man approached me and asked me what I was doing. About 35, fit and attractive. The minute he opened his mouth it was apparent he was slow, very slow. I replied I was waiting for food..."Why?" he asked, and so on for a minute or two until his elderly mother called him back. He broke my heart. Yes, Aspies have empathy. I mourned for the life he could have had, what will happen to him when his Mom is gone, but appreciated how the needle could have gone more in his direction with my disability.

by Anonymousreply 82August 20, 2019 4:41 PM

I have that too R82 I'm so bad with numbers I almost have a phobia of them.

by Anonymousreply 83August 20, 2019 5:50 PM

Crap I got 27.
