Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the Fountain Head Pub in Vancouver this evening:

I suspect the people reporting and recording this are too young to remember Pierre Trudeau visiting gay bars. Pierre Trudeau presented the Criminal Law Amendment Act (Bill C-150) to Parliament on April 16, 1969. I am too young to remember, but my mom said his visits with the gays helped lead to decriminalization of homosexuality.

People genuinely happy to see @JustinTrudeau as he visits the Fountainhead Pub, in the heart of Vancouver’s gay village. Apparently first sitting head of state to do visit a gay bar. No surprise. @HedyFry has held this seat for 25+ years. #cdnpoli
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 30, 2019 2:30 AM |
Yes, R2, that's Hedy Fry, the longest-serving female MP in Canada.
She was married when she was young and has an adult son, but there's a rumour that she's gay/bi since she hasn't had a husband in decades.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | July 30, 2019 2:34 AM |
OMG, Heddy. I remember being dragged to a gay Liberal event on the Hill in like 94 when Chretien first won. I wasn’t a Liberal but my friend was and he begged me to go because so many people were so closeted.
Anyway, the only two MPs who showed were Heddy and Bill Graham. I can’t believe she’s running again.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 30, 2019 2:40 AM |
Hedy Fry is now the longest serving female MP in Canadian history - not many people can say they knocked off a sitting Prime Minister!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 30, 2019 2:43 AM |
Yeah, Vancouver Centre used to be a Red Tory (eg. moderate conservative) riding back when Kim Campbell represented it, but after the destruction of the old PC Party and the emergence of the more right-wing Conservative Party, Vancouver Centre has been Liberal ever since under Hedy Fry.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 30, 2019 2:45 AM |
A hypocrite
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 30, 2019 2:50 AM |
Yes there is definitely an election coming soon.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 30, 2019 2:52 AM |
In what way, R9?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 30, 2019 2:52 AM |
R10, Trudeau has a genuine, long-term connection to the gay community, so this isn't something he's just doing for an election.
He's been pro-gay his whole life.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 30, 2019 2:53 AM |
The real deal. I'm voting for him this October.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 30, 2019 3:00 AM |
I was waiting for him to jump up on the bar, strip down to his thong and do a go-go dance.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 30, 2019 3:00 AM |
R12 the NDP would dispute that and and its leader Jagmeet Singh is the TRUE supporter of the gay community, and not Trudeau
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 30, 2019 3:04 AM |
Not sure how Jagmeet Singh can dispute it. It's historical fact.
It was Trudeau's father who decriminalized homosexuality in Canada 50 years ago.
It was Justin Trudeau who appointed the first 2 openly-gay cabinet ministers, Scott Brison & Seamus O'Reagan.
And it Justin Trudeau who became the first Canadian PM to go to Pride Parades.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 30, 2019 3:06 AM |
R17 What R16 posted is simply because he's an NDP supporter or a shit disturber or both. No sweat.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 30, 2019 3:10 AM |
NDP plan is to bash Trudeau breaking his promise to the gay community with the blood ban.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 30, 2019 3:11 AM |
R18 and Svend Robinson is back and he has a LONG LIST of things Trudeau has done to betray the gay community.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 30, 2019 3:15 AM |
[quote]Justin Trudeau becomes first Canadian Prime Minister to visit a gay bar
...probably not his first time.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 30, 2019 3:17 AM |
Kim Campbell campaigned in the bars on Davie 25 years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 30, 2019 3:54 AM |
R20, if it weren't for the Liberal Government, Svend Robinson's sexual orientation hate crimes bill wouldn't have passed the House of Commons in 2004.
So Svend doesn't have a leg to stand on.
And with NDP numbers tanking in British Columbia, he may not even succeed in his comeback attempt in Burnaby this year.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 30, 2019 5:13 AM |
So handsome.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 30, 2019 5:38 AM |
So, how did he end up in a gay bar?
Was Justin Trudeau doing research? Lost? Meeting his girlfriend? Thought it would be fun? Trying to be cool? Confused?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 30, 2019 5:47 AM |
^ the Fountainhead is hardly a gay bar R25....it basically just a pub.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 30, 2019 5:53 AM |
^ the Fountainhead was named after the ultra-masculine hero created by Ayn Rand.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 30, 2019 5:57 AM |
Justin Trudeau and Gavin Newsom are my two political crushes.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 30, 2019 6:06 AM |
Why can't Justin do an Aaron?
Less talking, more slutting.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 30, 2019 6:43 AM |
R26, you can see the gay guys inside the bar in the video above. And the rainbow flag on the beer taps.
Plus, it's in the middle of Vancouver's gay village.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 30, 2019 6:54 AM |
Didn't mom scissor chicks downstairs at Studio 54?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 30, 2019 7:59 AM |
I had entertained the thought he was somewhat cute, but he's a shade too smiley and desperate looking at r31, non?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 30, 2019 8:03 AM |
He was asked to pose for a photo, R33.
He can't always look perfect -- he takes hundreds of them.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 30, 2019 8:06 AM |
I love that we have Justin Trudeau cuteness defenders.
Not sure if that's a credit to DL or Canadians.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 30, 2019 8:14 AM |
He does NOT have impeccable anal hygiene, but I suppose some of you like that. I sure do.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 30, 2019 8:14 AM |
And you know this from personal experience, R38?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 30, 2019 8:17 AM |
I wanna see him get that bubble butt gangbanged.

by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 30, 2019 8:52 AM |
Is that Jimmy Kimmel with him on the right in R31's picture? Is Jimmy a gay Canadian?
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 30, 2019 12:16 PM |
R42, that's a young man who got an incredible number of blow jobs and all the pot he wanted.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 30, 2019 12:32 PM |
Nice hips and butt on Mr. Trudeau
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 30, 2019 12:36 PM |
President Macron seemingly grabbing Trudeau's crotch
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 30, 2019 12:51 PM |
Who's the Frau with the bad hair who photo-bombed R31's picture?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 30, 2019 2:17 PM |
R49, the older woman is the Liberal Member of Parliament for Vancouver Centre, Dr. Hedy Fry.
She was mentioned above and you can see her in the OP video coming into the gay bar with Trudeau.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | July 30, 2019 10:15 PM |
[quote]Svend Robinson is back
Is he taking a break from stealing jewellery?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | July 30, 2019 10:19 PM |
A Canadian/American doctor was there and posted a photo:

[quote] Trudeau has a genuine, long-term connection to the gay community, so this isn't something he's just doing for an election. He's been pro-gay his whole life.
And there are some gays on this board who are prepared to VOTE AGAINST Justin Trudeau for a variety of his broken promises.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | July 30, 2019 11:11 PM |
And this is why I want a younger president in the US - they’re more laid back and in touch. Could you see any of the current candidates other than Mayor Pete visiting a gay bar while campaigning?

[quote] Could you see any of the current candidates other than Mayor Pete visiting a gay bar while campaigning?
Conservatives call that "virtue singling"
by Anonymous | reply 56 | July 30, 2019 11:27 PM |
Who gives a fuck what conservatives think?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | July 30, 2019 11:31 PM |
Trudeau is a stupid, prancing fraud. Fuck Justin Trudeau.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | July 30, 2019 11:44 PM |
R58 Would you rather have him or an asshole conservative?
by Anonymous | reply 59 | July 30, 2019 11:46 PM |
R59
There are DLers here that see Trudeau as Virtue Singling and are totally prepared to vote either Conservative or NDP, who they see as more serious than Trudeau
by Anonymous | reply 60 | July 30, 2019 11:47 PM |
R60, very few gay Canadians are going to vote Conservative.
Some will vote NDP, but not as many as usual since Jagmeet Singh is doing so poorly and NDP support is down.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | July 31, 2019 12:13 AM |
[quote]and Svend Robinson is back and he has a LONG LIST of things Trudeau has done to betray the gay community.
Who did Sven "Sticky Fingers" Robinson purloin that list from?
by Anonymous | reply 62 | July 31, 2019 12:56 AM |
Svend Robinson previously tried a comeback attempt by running against Hedy Fry, and he had his ass handed to him.
This time Svend is running in a different riding against a different Liberal MP.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | July 31, 2019 1:08 AM |
Bet it's not his first time visiting one as a previous non-prime minister, either.. ;)
by Anonymous | reply 64 | July 31, 2019 1:13 AM |
R64, yeah, Trudeau probably went to gay bars with his friends in his university days.
And if some DLers are telling the truth, he used to accept blowjobs from gay friends.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | July 31, 2019 1:23 AM |
The Conservative competition - one of Andrew Scheer's better photos.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | July 31, 2019 2:05 AM |
Amazingly, Trudeau is the oldest of the three main federal leaders.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | July 31, 2019 2:08 AM |
R66, Andrew Scheer is such a slob. A Canadian deplorable.
R67, yeah, after the last election there was a generational change and the Conservatives & NDP both decided to get younger leaders to compete with Trudeau.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | July 31, 2019 2:15 AM |
^. Why drag children into a celebration of sex and sexuality?
by Anonymous | reply 71 | August 5, 2019 12:15 AM |
R71, Trudeau is one of many parents who brings his children to Pride. It's a way of showing today's generation of children to be loving & accepting to their gay friends & family.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | August 5, 2019 12:18 AM |
R71 A conservative prude posting from 1980.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | August 5, 2019 12:39 AM |
by Anonymous | reply 74 | August 5, 2019 1:22 AM |
R71 Because there is more to being a gay person than just sex - it shows that other than our sexual orientation we are regular people just like straights.

by Anonymous | reply 78 | August 5, 2019 2:03 AM |
Will no one comment on the snugness of those pants at r76?!
by Anonymous | reply 80 | August 5, 2019 10:57 PM |
R80, Justin knows his gay fans on DL like to see him in tight pants:
