Tell me about Boris Johnson

I know nothing about him, other than he has really bad hair and looks like trump.

He looks like an idiot, so it's no surprise that the British voted for him to be their leader.

The British were never very smart.

by Anonymousreply 71July 24, 2019 1:57 AM

It's no surprise that Americans voted for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 1July 23, 2019 7:26 PM

He's a fucking slob.

That's all you need to know.

by Anonymousreply 2July 23, 2019 7:29 PM

He and trump will make the perfect Anglo-American alliance.

In hell.

by Anonymousreply 3July 23, 2019 7:30 PM

Not much to say (Tory toff, gigantic asshole) and chances are, he'll be PM for about a week.

by Anonymousreply 4July 23, 2019 7:34 PM

He has the 8 inch penes.

by Anonymousreply 5July 23, 2019 7:34 PM

R3, r2 and the OP is the same troll.

by Anonymousreply 6July 23, 2019 7:34 PM

R6 is a fucking CUNT.

by Anonymousreply 7July 23, 2019 7:35 PM

Why do British politics bring out the worst in people R2, R3, R6 and R7 ?

by Anonymousreply 8July 23, 2019 7:40 PM

Sadiq Khan will wipe the floor with Boris.

And then he will become Prime Minister and wipe Conservatives off the map. FOREVER.

He was born in the US but left because he owed back taxes and escaped to avoid them. Typical Trumper, the whole world is going to shit.

by Anonymousreply 10July 23, 2019 7:45 PM

[quote]He was born in the US but left because he owed back taxes and escaped to avoid them.

No, he didn't. He was born in the US because his parents were there at the time of his birth. They returned to the UK with him as a baby.

by Anonymousreply 11July 23, 2019 7:47 PM

Donald Trump and Boris Johnson = AXIS OF EVIL

by Anonymousreply 12July 23, 2019 7:48 PM

Even though his parents registered him as a US citizen, Boris renounced his citizenship. So you don't have to worry about him becoming POTUS.

by Anonymousreply 13July 23, 2019 7:51 PM

Trump/Johnson 2020!

Call it the FUCKING GARBAGE CUNT TRASH ticket.

Many, many, many layers of irony in those two short sentences.

by Anonymousreply 15July 23, 2019 7:56 PM

OP is an ignorant retard. The British didn't vote for him. He was only selected by 92,000 Tory party members.

by Anonymousreply 16July 23, 2019 8:05 PM

[quote]The British were never very smart.

Fuck you.

by Anonymousreply 18July 23, 2019 8:09 PM

He was in the Bullingdon Club at Oxford--the club for the wealthiest and most arrogant of toffs. They are banned from all restaurants within a several miles' radius of Oxford because their tradition is to go to a nice restaurant, order the most expensive things, and then completely trash the room they're in (plates, goblets, windows, anything on the walls) and then contemptuously write out the owner a check to pay for it. They have also been frequently banned from meeting as a group from the Oxford colleges for decades because they also have a tradition of smashing windows in the colleges.

That should give you an idea of what he's like as a person.

In the linked photo from 1987, #8 is Johnson (who was much hotter back in the day than now--now he is completely repulsive) and #2 is the former prime minister David Cameron.

by Anonymousreply 39July 23, 2019 8:53 PM

R20, he is the leader of our country because we have a parliamentary system whereby the party of government selects the prime minister. The prime minister is not directly elected but the prime minister is invariably the party leader who led the party into an election. In unusual circumstances if a prime minister has to resign then the ruling party selects a new leader, who then goes on to become prime minister. Although, there is a question of their legitimacy so they tend to have to call a general election pretty soon, once the reasons why the previous prime minister have been dealt with. So, expect a general election in the UK once we have Brexited by the end of October - which Boris may win, but only because the opposition Labour party is a complete mess at present (even more of a mess than the Tories, and that's saying something).

by Anonymousreply 40July 23, 2019 8:54 PM

Boris and Trump sounds like the fantasy threesome.

by Anonymousreply 41July 23, 2019 8:56 PM

[quote] expect a general election in the UK once we have Brexited by the end of October

By then, it will be too fucking late. Won't it?

Britain is DONE FOR.

by Anonymousreply 42July 23, 2019 8:57 PM

r40, so it was only Boris' colleagues who voted this time around? Or was it everyone who is a registered member of his party? But not the general public?

by Anonymousreply 43July 23, 2019 8:59 PM

R42 MARY!!!

by Anonymousreply 44July 23, 2019 9:01 PM

R43 - why don't you try to educate yourself and read a few serious British media websites.

by Anonymousreply 45July 23, 2019 9:02 PM

So an actual BORIS will be in power of one of the alliances. Apropos.

by Anonymousreply 46July 23, 2019 9:02 PM

He looks like an asshole and very unprofessional with that shitty, unkempt hair.

by Anonymousreply 47July 23, 2019 9:02 PM

I find him hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 48July 23, 2019 9:05 PM

The British didn't vote for him - signed-up Tory party members did, which is very very different. Personally I disagree with handing over power within the party when a Prime-Minister steps down, but that is the way it works. There will likely be a general election in a few months and then we will get to vote.

by Anonymousreply 49July 23, 2019 9:06 PM

Vladimir and Boris are now running the two most powerful countries in Europe.

We're fucking DOOMED.

by Anonymousreply 50July 23, 2019 9:06 PM

by Anonymousreply 53July 23, 2019 9:08 PM

by Anonymousreply 54July 23, 2019 9:08 PM

I'm blocking all the name callers on this thread.

by Anonymousreply 55July 23, 2019 9:09 PM

R50, the UK is not an important country in Europe - leaving the EU will see to that, and the EU is still more important than Russia and the UK.

by Anonymousreply 56July 23, 2019 9:10 PM

R53 Oh dear! You misspelled Trump.

by Anonymousreply 57July 23, 2019 9:11 PM

by Anonymousreply 58July 23, 2019 9:11 PM

R55 seems more suited for Angie's List, rather than Datalounge.

What a fucking little twat.

by Anonymousreply 59July 23, 2019 9:13 PM

It's true, Britain's COLLAPSE is complete. And I say that as a Britisher.

by Anonymousreply 60July 23, 2019 9:13 PM

R43, as r49 said, it is the members of the Tory party who voted for their party leader who, because the Tories are the largest party in parliament and hence are the government, becomes prime minister. A bit like how members of the Democrats and Republicans select their party's presidential candidate. So, 92,153 Tory party members voted for Boris to be their party leader and, effectively, prime minister.

Normally, political parties in the UK choose their leaders while they are in opposition, usually after they have lost a general election and so the losing party leader stands down.

by Anonymousreply 61July 23, 2019 9:14 PM

Haha at R62.

His father sounds like a blubbering DRUNK.

That explains Boris Johnson's fetal alcohol syndrome looks.

by Anonymousreply 64July 23, 2019 9:19 PM

Thank you r49 and r61. I didn't know how that worked.

by Anonymousreply 65July 23, 2019 9:25 PM

Queen Lizzie should grow a pair and do what she did in 1963 when she appointed Sir Alec Douglas-Home as Prime Minister. Reject Boris. Use her reserve power or whatever it's called.

Of course the circumstances are different, but what else is she good for besides sittin' around letting her corgis lick peanut butter out of her crevices. I mean c'mon, ma'am, actually do something relevant.

The old bitch got £45.7 million ($58 million) from taxpayers in 2017-2018.

Disgusting.
