I suggest you also check out shows that were big in the 70s on crackle. I am in my 20s, wasn't around back then but I have to say, they are great. Corny, but entertaining. I never heard her music, but will check it out. Thanks OP.

In my 20s here too, 92 Baby here! R1

Her ballads are incredible. Do You Know (theme from Mahogany) and It’s My Turn are phenomenal.

1995 baby here, OP!!! I am sort of loving 70s stuff suddenly!

I’m shocked that no one has mentioned I’m Coming Out - it’s a gay anthem!

I love when they used the song to promote the final episodes of Mad Men. Nailed the sort of languid, sexy feel of it.

Diana Ross - Chain Reaction
It's kinda odd that this song and Experience weren't a hit in the US at the time of their releases.

Most of Diana's 80s stuff is not as strong as her solo 70s stuff.

American listeners are just tone-deaf; they are always antisocial and love what the world hates.
Her cartoon songs are solid ballads too.

"Touch me in the morning, then just walk away."
This popped up on the radio as I drove home from my first NYC trick in 1973.

"Missing You" is peak Diane.
Cashing in on the death of someone she hated, Marvin Gaye. She refused to record at the same time as he when they did their duets album.

You should get a Supremes Greatest Hits CD, too.

"Cashing in on the death of someone she hated, Marvin Gaye. She refused to record at the same time as he when they did their duets album."
Diana did not hate Marvin. The story is Diana was pregnant with her first child when the album was being recorded, and Marvin was smoking copious amounts of pot the whole time. Ross is indeed a bitch but in this case, you can't blame her. Marvin wouldn't give up his weed, so it was decided Ross and Gaye would record separately, as had been done many times previously in his duets with Kim Weston and Tammy Terrell.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
