I'm doing fine at 63 degrees here in the Pacific Northwest.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | July 19, 2019 6:15 PM |
Its currently 6 degrees C where I am, windy and wet as well
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 19, 2019 6:23 PM |
Only 88 F. but the humidity is incredible.
I just brought in the stuff off my patio that can break or fly away in the wind. There are severe storms coming through here late afternoon/early evening. Hope we don't lose power.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 19, 2019 6:25 PM |
It’s 95 and climbing

Don't forget to keep your pets cool and hydrated, and check on your elderly neighbors, especially if they live alone.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 19, 2019 6:41 PM |
R5 thank you FOX 4 NEWs, "Working for you !"
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 19, 2019 6:44 PM |
It's going to reach 109 F. I just don't leave the house until 7:00 p.m.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 19, 2019 6:46 PM |
Can we at least give a vague idea of our location? Especially curious about you r7
I'm in Marin County, CA. We are actually having a bit of a cooling trend (don't hate me, we will be paying for this, trust me.) Today shouldn't get much hotter than 75. Highly unusual, but I'll take it.

[quote]check on your elderly neighbors
This is the DL. Everybody will be checking on everybody.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 19, 2019 7:19 PM |
Currently 75 degrees (12 noon), with an expected high of 79 degrees. Delightful! And as R8 commented, very unusual. The avg. high temp in July is 89 degrees.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 19, 2019 7:19 PM |
r8 Phoenix, LA's worst suburb.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 19, 2019 7:30 PM |
This seems like a normal Northeast summer heat wave. Why is everyone freaking out about it? I've even gotten "Heat Advisory Alerts" on my phone?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 19, 2019 7:31 PM |
I'll say it again , but this desert heat In Palm Springs of 112 and higher has been an absolute joy compared to humid ,east-of-the-Rockies climate, even when said temps. are in the 80's
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 19, 2019 7:32 PM |
r13, yeah, I lived in Orlando and the humidity was the worst. I'll take 109 F. over 97F. degrees with 90 percent humidity.

by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 19, 2019 11:27 PM |
Checking in on all of you roasters. Apparently, today is supposed to be hotter, though it is still a bit early yet. Anyone want to report how your day is so far, and/or how it went yesterday?
Condoling you in advance...
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 20, 2019 2:33 PM |
Oooh honey, it’s hotter than the devils roasting pan out there at ten AM. All my plants are wilting. I made it to the store and got some shrimp, which I’m going to boil outside tonight after the sun goes down. It was 90 last I checked, but climbing up to 110 today here in the DC area. 🔥 👿

Welcome to Hell.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 20, 2019 2:52 PM |
Heated Thunderstorms have cancelled flights. I’ve spent 19 hours getting the hell out of Columbus
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 20, 2019 2:54 PM |
It is already 88 degrees in Albany, New York. It is expected to go to 93. And the humidity is already 70%.
All in all, a good day to go to the baths.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 20, 2019 2:55 PM |
60 degrees in Berzerkley. Cool breeze. Getting up to 71 degrees today

[quote] 107° tomorrow in NYC.
This falls into the DL "I look ten years younger" camp.
It's supposed to be 98º in NYC tomorrow according to weather.com and accuweather

Beastly hot and humid in Chicago. High nineties, and humidity is off the charts. My first summer living here, and it's a bitch. Can't wait to to see what winter brings.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 20, 2019 8:46 PM |
The winter is worse, R25. The winter is, oh, so much worse.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 20, 2019 11:21 PM |
If you have any cold cans in your fridge, put them on the insides of your wrists, nape of your neck, or behind your knees and you will cool down significantly for a short while. Ice packs works well too.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 20, 2019 11:24 PM |
r26 is correct, r25.

Currently 70 F in Vancouver, BC at 6pm. No wildfire smoke yet this season...loving it.

The local news guy who demonstrates how a plastic water bottle can act as a magnifying glass and start a fire. Frying an egg on the sidewalk is so last year.

R25: Chicago Metro here. After the high winds came through, we've dropped into the 70s now. Finally. Not all winters are bad, but this previous one was HORRIBLE. Hopefully this next winter won't be so bad. Statistically, it will be almost impossible, ALMOST, to top last winter. I'm now going to knock on wood several time that I said that.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | July 21, 2019 2:08 AM |
It's a little slice of pure hell here in the Mid-Atlantic region. However in my home it's 64 degrees, cold air on full blast.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 21, 2019 2:17 AM |
We're having a mild summer in LA. I expect it will change soon. August can be abysmal here.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 21, 2019 2:36 AM |
What heat? It’s a Chinese invention.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 21, 2019 2:49 AM |
40,000 fans at today's Wrigley Field Cubs game gave a standing ovation when the winds changed to cool off the weather.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 21, 2019 4:42 AM |
R21, I was stuck with canceled flights trying to get into Columbus!
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 21, 2019 2:13 PM |
Into? WHY?????
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 21, 2019 2:15 PM |
R22, if you're talking about that bath house in Troy, you'd be better off staying home.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 21, 2019 2:34 PM |
We may get up to 80 /28 in PNW.
It will be stinky.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 21, 2019 3:34 PM |

The storms came through (Twin Cities MN). It was up in the 90s before the storms, it dropped to the low 60s afterward.
Bliss.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 21, 2019 4:20 PM |
What scares me is that these extreme weather events are becoming more and more common, whether cold in the Winter or heat in the Summer, it's like there's no middle ground... much like our politics. We, as a nation, are unprepared for the looming disaster that climate change is bringing despite the fact that we can, with a pretty high degree of accuracy, predict the weather.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 21, 2019 5:07 PM |
We gone from a high of 93° yesterday to a "low" of 78 today. The humidity and dew point has also dropped, it feel almost heavenly. Better days are coming!
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 21, 2019 11:45 PM |
And worse days, too, R44. And worse days, too!
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 22, 2019 12:08 AM |
Got up at 5 am for my daily 1+ mile speed walk and to watch the sunrise. Topping 107 today in Vegas and a few degrees more later in the week. It's a dry heat of course.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 22, 2019 12:28 AM |
You know that you have over-cooled your home and have more money than sense when your double-paned windows sweat on the outside.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 22, 2019 12:32 AM |
My dad walked around like that,r48, when it got hot.
“Pants!” was a common request from guests.

Supposed to be 108 in Paris on Thursday. Crazy!
by Anonymous | reply 51 | July 22, 2019 4:22 AM |
Currently it’s 57° in San Francisco we had our heat wave a couple months ago. Will be getting another one September/October.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 22, 2019 4:25 AM |
Storming here tonight, with the temps falling. Finally a break from the week of humid 100s.
Cured me of ever living south of th Mason Dixon line.

This weather was supposed to break but low and behold, the meteorogists were wrong yet again and it's currently 88% humidity and 85.
