Geothermal HVACs Are A Maintenance Nightmare

We have one at work. When it’s not going down because there is a leak in one or more of the 15,000 joints, it’s going down because it can’t cope with the heat. It also flooded the whole office with a foot of water.

Oh shit, OP, really? We are scheduled to have one installed (by Dandelion) before end of year. What else can you tell us about them, pros and cons?

When visiting Iceland many years ago, everything is geothermal. The hot water in our hotel stank of sulphur because it was some natural hot spring water or some shit.

It’s a nice idea, but...

R2 that’s not how these particular geothermal systems work in the US.
