I know we don't like Friedman around here, but he makes a compelling case. Donny Deutsch said this on Colbert too.
Trump (or whoever the Repub candidate is) is going to be (re)elected because the Dems made the same colossal mistake that the Labour Party did in England; It tolerated and embraced bigotry, believing that that was its future and strength. And just as it has destroyed Labour, it is destroying the Dems.

R1 can you please give and example of how the Dems are "tolerating and embracing bigotry?"

Basically, I think OP thinks if some of the newly elected members of Congress are not kissing Israel’s ass then they’re embracing bigotry.
OP, can you confirm that’s what you’re talking about?

Thomas Friedman is Maureen Dowd with the penis. Another throwback who destroyed all credibility with his support of the Iraq Attack. I for one give not one shit what he has to say.

If the Dems keep engaging in this circular firing squad and making impeachment, climate change and faux diversity their campaign platforms, then they've already lost 90% of the country. So yes, he will get re-elected.

A moderate democratic candidate with a concrete plan to address illegal immigration (which would not necessary be punitive for illegal immigrants already in the US) would win.
- Person who predicted Trump the second he announced in 2015.
