The Progressive take on the Trump's vs The Squad
Frankly I'm not buying this. I'm far more inclined to believe that he is using this whole thing very strategically to amp up racial resentment and boost the white vote.
My fear is that he will be successful. It has been well documented that there are large numbers of the "white working class" that through apathy or other reasons haven't voted in the past. And they exist in large numbers. If he can rile them up enough to vote for him, he can compensate for the numbers turned off by him.
Of course, at the cost of making the nation more tribal, more racially divided, more uncivil and much, much harder to govern.
By what the hell does he care? He gets four more years to feed the bottomless pit of narcissistic, sociopathic neediness.

You said we shouldn't defend minorities. We shouldn't call Trumps caravan attacks racist. We should denounce Kaepernick.
And you were dead wrong. Dems won 40 seats and flipped many seats that hadn't once gone blue in the modern era. We get it, some of you don't like minorities and think they need to shut up. Most of America doesn't think that way and thats why 2018 was such a disaster for the GOP.

People with decency, the white people who have no desire to boost white supremacy, are leaving the party in droves. You did a lot more service to the GOP when your kind hid in holes like rats they are. But Trump has convinced the racist scum to be confident and come out in the open, and swing voters that usually hate to take sides in this stuff remember why they hated white supremacy in the first place.
