R11 Thanks for sharing. I've never seen that. I've always really liked both The Andrews Sisters and The Supremes. Imagine if the Supremes had stayed on good terms and were able to do something like this with Destiny's Child.

This is a interesting, yet enjoyable trio, with Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Shore, and opera legend Joan Sutherland. The fun really starts at 2:30, during "Lover Come Back," when Ella and Dinah have the overhead mic dropped down to their mouths, in an effort to sing as loudly as Joan.

I'm not Garland's biggest fan, but this Medley from West Side Story shows off her great musicality and a higher quality of singing. Vic Damone had the most gorgeous voice of all those baritone crooners. I think this was pre recorded - rare for Garland's show. Still just means they sang it this way the day before. Judy taking the lower harmonies is interesting, it's a very nicely orchestrated piece.

R81 But, did she ever suffer for it? Remember that Dinah was Southern herself. She was a Tennessee native, that got her start on WSM, the Nashville radio station that gave us The Grand Ole Opry.

R38, one of my favorite musical moments....well, part of it. Burt Bacharach couldn't sing if his life depended on it, but Dusty captures that song perfectly.
R82 Karen sang "It's Impossible" and "And I Love you So" beautifully. Perry was less successful with "Yesterday Once More".
I had forgotten how hot Tom Jones was in ALL those duets.

A bit before my time, so it's vintage. Etheridge and Springsteen. Thunder Road. They sound great together. "Mary climb on in" by Etheridge is the sexiest low line ever - too bad Bruce made a jerk smirk.

^ Same old dude who thinks that the poorly arranged Kismet songs are superior to Garland and Damone's West Side Story Medley because they "LIVE sung". As a musician I always prefer live singing, but the West Side Story Medley is vastly superior in content, craft, vocal intricacy and harmonics. And the lyrical genius of those magnificently composed songs can't be compared to a cheap silly sway like Kismet. Garland would have rolled her eyes at Be My Love if she wasn't hooking for the paycheck. Her voice is actually great in both medleys, considering. Just so you know, her task is much more difficult in the West Side Story and the whole thing is more beautifully sung. R102.
That said, Liza can't sing and Goldie should stop acting cute at R129. But the thread category is interesting, not great. So it's that.
The "No, just No" put down is so old & fruity & like gay white boy's mothers must have said to them? Y'all old boys were rebuked a lot. But in a grown man life - you deserve to be corrected.
