This lines up with what I've been noticing/suspecting for a while, and in fact I've just within the last week started making the switch from chrome to firefox.

For me, the privacy thing is less of a concern and I'm fine with a company taking my anonymized data and using it for research or whatever... [bold]IF THEY PAY ME FOR IT!![/bold] If my data is worth so much to companies like google that their entire business model is based upon collecting and analyzing it, then they can give me some money for being the one being exploited here. It's the same reason I always answer "NO" when some software or w/e wants me to opt into sending them performance data about their product. Bitch I just paid $120 for MS office, you can get my performance feedback when you give me the software for free.

Here is my issue. I put a cookie blocker on my Safari, a ton of sites wont let me use them without the cookies blocked. It's now an issue were I'm shut out from a lot of the internet without their cookie features. Yes, your search engine can be pure but once you enter into a website, the same issue occurs. I'm not confident that they can't travel this information as well. That article sounds like a add for FireFox. I prefer Duck Duck Go, you won't have to activate an anti-tracking feature, they simply don't do that at all.

Thanks for the warning OP, but I'll continue to use Chrome and other Google applications. Hope they find anything gleaned from my online experience helpful. I have nothing to hide.

I've used Firefox and Brave and other browsers but always keep coming back to Chrome.
