$cientology Sued For Abuse, Human Trafficking & Intimidation

Cult of $cientology and leader David Miscavige sued for Abuse, Human Trafficking, and Intimidation of Former Member:

Attorneys representing Jane Doe filed the first of multiple lawsuits to hold the cult accountable for its extensive history of alleged abuse including its “Fair Game” policy that demands members destroy, by any means necessary, anyone who speaks out against the abuses committed.

Today, attorneys representing Jane Doe, a former member, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles alleging years of heinous abuse, human trafficking, and intimidation by members including David Miscavige. Jane Doe worked for years directly for Miscavige. The complaint filed in the case details $cientology’s disturbing practices including rampant child abuse, exploitative commercial practices, horrific forced labor, and the devastating policies that seek to destroy families and escaped former members. This includes the official “Fair Game” policy which tells members to attack, injure, harass, embarrass, and destroy anyone who chooses to speak out against $cientology and Miscavige.

Jane Doe was born into $cientology. The complaint alleges that beginning at age six, Doe was subjected to constant interrogation, abuse, harassment, and indoctrination by $cientology and its members. Doe alleges that she was forced to work under inhumane conditions for little pay in various para-military branches of $cientology pursuant to the “billion-year contract” she was forced to sign. Doe, while working directly for the hostile Miscavige, observed him assault and orchestrate attacks on other members. She was subject to solitary confinement and threats. Doe was threatened with “disconnection,” where the $cientology instructs its members, including family and friends, to shun an escaped $cientologist. She ultimately escaped $cientology in 2017. After she left, Doe states that after speaking out against $cientology, she was subjected to persistent public attacks, which included innumerable false statements published online and on social media.

This is great news. I hope there will be many, many more. Perhaps if the IRS won't cave, they will get sued out of existence.

Why go the Jane Doe route?

Respect to the attorneys who were willing to file the case and face the retaliatory wrath of scientology

Ugh, that place is so sleazy. I used to live 2 blocks from Hollywood Blvd and they had recruiters there in front of one of their buildings every day offering a "free personality test" to get you in the door. And that's not all, they bought up half a dozen other really old looking castle style hotel/apartment buildings in the surrounding area. The ones you see on the street don't stray far from the compounds. Sort of like freaky Mormon type personality. Think FLDS without the uniform dress.

by Anonymousreply 9June 19, 2019 5:03 AM

FYI, they also recruit though fake job ads. Years ago I responded to an add looking for a computer graphic designer from a blind ad. When they contacted me they said the job was for a big unnamed company that had it own campus where the artist can live and work. "a dream job for the right artist". After agreeing to meet with them, I finally got their address and looked it up. Turns out it was one of their conversion camp or headquarters. So much for that job.

It will only be a short time before we get $cientology propaganda posters trying to shut this thread down. Good luck you fucking cunts.

by Anonymousreply 11June 19, 2019 5:16 AM

They also hang around Central Casting in Burbank since so many people from other countries who barely speak English go there soon after they move to LA.

Creepy 😱

by Anonymousreply 13June 19, 2019 5:21 AM

I don't see how they can fib their way out of accusations like that in court. They're all a bunch of cowards.

by Anonymousreply 14June 19, 2019 6:36 AM

Speaking of Remini, WHET her Scieno show?

by Anonymousreply 15June 19, 2019 6:48 AM

R9, Do/did they still march around in their faux military uniforms? Pass out material to extras promising free acting courses and a direct way to easily get into the industry? Offer gigs for musicians to connect with others?

Got dragged to a party at their Celebrity Center by a couple of acquaintances. Even they were freaked out enough to leave after a short while. Joked that the lemonade punch was drugged (it wasn't.) Whole brief experience reminded me of the brainwashing scene from the original Manchurian Candidate. Seriously, Scienos were scolded for laughing too much at the party.

by Anonymousreply 16June 19, 2019 7:01 AM

They are much more straightforward in their ads for hiring actors for their propaganda videos, and hiring staff frontpeople as the sole employees of their empty buildings.

Too many people walked out and refused to work for them or appear in a promotional video.

Anne Archer could score points with the public and make a comeback by going all brave heroine and spilling the beans at last.

But she won't.

R18, Know that attractive extras were offered higher than normal wages to appear in their videos. Some were so broke that they accepted the gig, especially if they were new to Hollywood.

WEHT their Scieno TV station & cable TV programs?

r16 Good dish. Does anyone else have some run-in stories to tell about these freaks? Please spill!.

My boss who is the most trusting guy ever, and believes in people to a fault, got into an elevator with 2 "members" (guessing SeaOrg or similar types after he described their style of drag) about 20 years ago. He had no clue what Scientology was, but he freaked the fuck out after a couple of floors. He hit the button and got the fuck out of there. He said it was like standing next to dead people, and he is the least MARY! guy imaginable.

by Anonymousreply 23June 19, 2019 8:42 AM

R23, Only a small group of people were at the party. A very pretty Black young adult was playing the violin, "Summertime. " When she finished playing the song she asked her White "handler," a woman in her 30's, "Shall I stop now?" The woman answered, "Yes, you can stop now." Their voices were emotionless.

There was a very attractive Hispanic couple at the party. One of the 2 older men I was with started telling somewhat racist jokes. I gave him a dirty look which was ignored. The Hispanic woman started laughing loudly, perhaps to make light of the situation. Her husband and the "handler" told her to stop. She froze.

I then walked outside, I'd had more than enough. I thanked the violist, telling her she was very talented. The "handler" stared at me trying to get me to stop talking, as the young woman nodded in appreciation.

R23, Went to a different social event where there were a few Scientologists. All they could talk about is saving up enough money to buy their own E-meter. Of course they can't really explain what it is or how the device is really used. They kept saying in a robotic tone of voice, "it will help you get Clear. "

Always questioning everything around me, of course I asked them to define "Clear." They couldn't do it. Said I'd have to take a Scieno course to find out.

I've had friends who were die-hard Evangelical Christians and Buddists and they've never sounded anything like Scienos, not even when describing how their deep faith drastically changed their lives. Instead they try to convey their feelings of ultimate peace and true clarity. Scienos talk without any passion or feeling re what they're actually saying.

The only part of the city that went totally for Trump was the Scienos.

Trump and Scienos not surprised, Both dopey.

Heard a podcast w Rebecca Minkhoff the designer. She sounded oddly flat, dispassionate, turns out she is huge Scieno.

by Anonymousreply 28June 19, 2019 4:54 PM

My former dentist went to Scieno dental business training school. Jeez, turns out he was high dollar. And a scam artist. Several dentists who were following Scientology were busted legally for scamming people.

by Anonymousreply 29June 19, 2019 5:22 PM

Keep these stories coming! Very interesting. My aunt has a bag from that Minkoff chick. I think it is going to meet with a bad end next time she visits.

More on Minkoff and her shady family at the link.

People should lean on Nordstrom and other stores not to carry her shit. If they could drop Ivanka's line of crap, they could drop Minkoff's as well. Hit these cunts in the wallet.

My former boss was a very successful attorney who'd gone to one $cientology class 20 years ago ... and still got tons of glossy, full color brochures weekly in the mail about upcoming events, classes, etc.

I would call them and say, "Can you please stop sending these? They're just going in the trash and they look QUITE EXPENSIVE. And there's so many of them!" They would say, "Just have him call us, himself," and I would say, "He doesn't WANT to call you. The whole point is he wants no CONTACT with you."

Then they would say, "Well, we can't just take someone off our mailing list because someone ELSE requests it." And I'd say, "Well, if you look back over your records, you'll see he's never replied ONCE in 20 YEARS, so it would appear he's not interested in contact..." (pause) "YOU'RE KILLING SO MANY TREES...!" (pause) "This is not cost effective for you...."

My dream was to get him off that list, but I failed [bold]: (

R27, I've never had a conversation with an Android.

Took a lot of Cultural Anthropology courses at UCLA where we studied cults. Have talked to a lot of people into way out there philosophies and religions, like Lifespring, and there's no comparison to how Scienos communicate. Assume it's a combo of extreme fear of not following rigid dictates of how to act and what to say, as if members aren't ever allowed to think independently and therefore speak in a flat, emotionless tone of voice.

by Anonymousreply 33June 19, 2019 11:23 PM

I've never met him but my upstairs neighbor has a die-hard Scieno, single older man living next door. Works as a casino card dealer. She says he repeatedly tells her that he's going to be the military commander of Scientology, taking over the US after the coming Civil War. I told her that's a sick world view, and even worse than that of LDS which she follows.

My neighbor says he has a huge arsenal of weapons and ammunition, and wanted her to receive all of his Fed EX and USPS packages ie new shipments of guns. She refused as at 75+ she's not yet senile.

by Anonymousreply 34June 19, 2019 11:33 PM

There's a dermatologist in Burbank named Lisa Benest. For some reason, many doctors use her as the first referral for a patient. She ends up bringing you to a mini health food store in her back office, trying to sell all these store-bought supplements at inflated prices.

She will also flood your email inbox with spam for an endless cycle of follow-up visits until you block her.

I found out online she's a hardcore cult member, and I regret giving her a penny.

by Anonymousreply 35June 19, 2019 11:35 PM

These nutters are so ‘80s.

Triflin’!

by Anonymousreply 36June 20, 2019 12:08 AM

It's sad that many people who get sucked into cults are damaged souls (mataphorically speaking) (not sure there really is such a thing as a soul) that are looking for acceptance and love, and trying to find a meaning in life.

Then they just get raped financially and emotionally ... for 50 years.
