I find the level of vitriol that's being expressed about this video to be pretty bizarre. Regardless of the cultural merit of the track and the inclusiveness of those represented in the video, how can it be a bad thing for any major music artist to align themselves with the LGBTQ cause, and particularly an artist who retains a significant core fanbase from a conservative/country background? Better, surely, to direct that vitriol at those who are actively attacking and undermining us instead.

How times have changed, and though I cannot relate to this video like someone Taylor's age or younger, I applaud the message and the effort to call out the continued intolerance. For that much alone, I like the video. I also enjoyed listening to her auto-tuned voice for the time it was on. Anymore and I would've torn my hair out. This has been underlined by the fact that none of the 4 singles taken from her new album managed to make the Billboard 100. She is, effectively, a heritage act who will still sell albums, but that's because albums are largely bought by older consumers.
