Pride Parades From Around The World

So I'm recovering from surgery and while laying in bed decided to look at YouTube footage of pride parades from just about every major city in the world, including the US.

Can you make a guess as to which city had the most vibrant and spirited parade? It also boasted, by far, the best looking crowd.

I'll wait to see if I get at least 20 guesses then I'll respond with the answer.

Sao Paulo has the world's largest Gay Pride. I don't know if or how that might be affected by their current president.

I like Amsterdam too because the floats are actually on the water (in the canals)

Another vote for Rio.

Stockholm - I was there last year. The parade had a lovely energy and lovely guys on the floats.

The answer is Montreal! Close runners-up were Sydney and Tel Aviv.

The dullest I was were L.A. and Mexico City (which surprised me).

by Anonymousreply 26June 11, 2019 10:26 PM

Salt Lake City Utah

Taipei. Hope the OP is still alive though.

by Anonymousreply 28June 11, 2019 10:45 PM

Thanks OP, I guessed Sydney so do I get a runner up trophy? I am also surprised that Mexico City was a dud, they usually know how to party.

Probably one of the smaller ones from a town or place where gay visibility isn't huge. They're less corporate and the organizers really have to fight/put effort to hold them.

How is your recovery going, OP?

"GAY Pride Parade."

"GAY Pride Parade."

NEVER say, "Pride Parade." ALWAYS say, "GAY Pride Parade."

We did all of the hard work, we deserve all of the credit.

by Anonymousreply 34June 29, 2019 7:00 PM

Except that Sydney doesn’t do “Pride”, as such - mid winter, you know.

Sydney does Mardi Gras at the end of our summer.

I second Amsterdam and Tel-Aviv.. I did go to London this year and Madrid last year. Both were pretty damn awesome too.
