I had no idea Model Mayhem was still a thing.

Even back when it was popular (about a decade back), it seemed like 80% of the profiles there were hookers and/or porn stars.

The modeling "assignments" are to pose nude for pervy photographers' supposedly "private" collections while being hassled for sex or a relationship. So, a couple notches above a straight up escort site, but the main fetish of the clientele is getting models for their amateur erotic photography.

R4 another thing I remember about MM is that they allowed anyone at least 16 to join up, and so there were a lot of profiles that were clearly not "models" but just regular teenage girls uploading selfies from their bathrooms. I recall thinking to myself, "This place would be a predator's dream."

Took a quick look as I haven't thought about MM in ages. It looks like they've weeded out the really old profiles. The guys still skew more black & latino than you might expect, but now they see to have a lot of older guys (like 50s and 60s) and not many twinks.

You know...I go to MM every now and then for shits and giggles and I've learned a few things, but one really stands out...there's a lot of CONFIDENT people out there who think they're models. A staggering amount.

Was wondering why this sounded familiar before it dawned me that a youtuber ended up with a girl who had an account there. She'd pretend to be this open minded/body positivity type until fans tracked down her account and saw her talking shit about pregnant women and the horrors of getting fat.

Add me to the bunch who thought Model Mayhem was long gone. Datalounge had posters who posted with glee profiles of both Model Mayhem and that Body Building social networking site. Seems like a bygone era now.
