Horror Film Lovers Chapter 2
We were talking about the new Halloween and H2O. Someone said they turned Jamie into Linda Hamilton but I thought she was Carol from WD with a more expensive wig. The best part for me in the new Halloween was when Judy Greer was pretending to be the typical scared girl in a horror film.
This week's high rated horror film I'm going check is The Cleaning Lady. Yes I know critics are often wrong about horror films and sometimes one they hate are good ones. I truly hated Hagazussa one I watched last week.

They're not wrong.

She met with Jason Blum yesterday. They're discussing things.

I could see Jamie doing 2 more of the Halloween movies.

I would rather be trapped in a basement with Michael Myers than be trapped in another thread listening to the Horror Contrarian Troll overrating HALLOWEEN 2018.

I’m watching Cleaning Lady right now. Too creepy. They should have hired that Lin lady as the Lady.

Cleaning Lacy is a well made movie that has weak beginning and ending. I like the lead actress and director and hope to see them in other movies. Also The Cleaning Lady had a big sign CrEEPY STAY AWAY.

Carol from Walking Dead ,dear. I forgot it is not the biggest show right now.

I’m watching They Come Knocking (Clayne Crawford got a bum rap I think) on Hulu's Into The Night short movies on every holiday from Blumhouse. Most of them have been good but it seems to have zero buzz. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets cancelled.

I want to revisit the NOES remake. I can't remember anything other than Katie Cassidy's death scene.

R14- Heard it was a fun ride. All the reviews from most websites were universal: "Its so much better than I expected". 60% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. However it only got a C+ Cinemascore which means bad word of mouth and it will drop like a stone next weekend.
I can't wait until it comes out on video.... Everything about it sounds good to me.

R15 I just saw it and I thought it was decent. Those reviews don't surprise me.

I literally just got out of a showing as well. I liked it a lot and thought it was better than the Halloween and Pet Sematary reboots. They changed enough of it to justify a remake and kept enough for nostalgia. I loved the Poltergeist III poster on the kid’s wall — a nod to another 1988 horror film from MGM that took place in a Chicago high rise.
I thought the character development was good and there were a couple of kills that were genuinely upsetting.
I recommend it.

Annabelle Comes Home was pretty boring. Doesn't help that i didn't find it scary either. But the actor who played Bob was cute.

Happy Death Day 2 U was fun. But you should see the original, Happy Death Day, first. It was pretty cool the attention to detail they went into to recreate every minor detail from the first film.

The new Child's Play was decent, but it was a bit of a stretch for them to compare Andy and Chucky's relationship to that of Elliot and E.T. And aside from the kid that played Andy (who happens to look very much like Eliiot), the film seemed mis-cast, including Aubrey Day who seemed like she didn't even want to be in the film at all.

LOL everytime Chucky's finger lit up, i started to wonder when he'd phone home.

Finally saw US last night. Incredibly suspenseful and good acting. Unfortunately, I found it's meaning rather opaque though.

Nothing to see here ... Move along. There's nothing the nutjob didn't cover in 1800 posts before this. You don't want to end up one of the bodies buried under his porch.

I saw the Child's Play remake last night and thought it was terrible. There was some good gore but the plot was all over the place and there was no suspense. And if they were attempting a tongue-in-cheek vibe they failed miserably. The main kid wasn't even interested in the Chucky doll so it made no sense he would keep it running. Plus they lived in a shithole apartment that was the last place you'd find all the high tech gadgets Chucky could control so there was no sense of danger there. The kid wears a hearing aid for no significant reason - I kept expecting that to play into the story at some point but no, nothing. Terrible CGI and the Buddi/Chucky design is awful. It was a very long 90 minutes. Avoid.

R27, I watched it with very low expectations, so I ended up being a little bit surprised that it was better than I was expecting (though that's not saying much). I think in a very general sense, they had a good premise for the reboot (pun intended, I guess) of the franchise, but they could have, and should have, went way darker and more realistic with this film. And the attempts at humor were cringe-worthy at times - like gifting the black couple a watermelon? Seriously?

Made even less sense after what happened to the cat.

Chucky torments Andy through his hearing aid when they're at the shopping mall.

R25, I'm a fan of Night of the Demons, but I think I liked Night of the Demons 2 much better.
I thought that Night of the Demons 3 sucked because they used a new looking house, and Angela's demon makeup looked rather cheap.
I realize they couldn't use the original house, because it had already been torn down at that point.

I haven't seen the 3rd Night of the Demons in ages. I remember thinking it wasn't as bad as everyone said it was, but I can't remember one thing about it. I remember a feisty nun from part 2 and the lipstick scene from part 1 and that's about all I remember from those. They're the kind of movies that are enjoyable enough at the time, but don't leave many lasting impressions on you.

Night of the Demons... wow I haven’t seen that in decades. One of those movies you’d rent as a kid just from seeing the cover box in the video store. Need to revisit that one while stoned! I also remember the sequel being fun too, but the third one was garbage.

Part 2 was fun but Amelia Kincaid looked so different I thought they had recast the role for the first few minutes of the film.

Not sure why Matthew Modine was in this but i did enjoy 47 Metres Down. I think it's better than some of the other recent shark movies (e.g Shallows/The Meg). The ending you'll either love or hate.
