Matt Bomer is co-hosting a fundraiser for Pete Buttigieg

Chasten better keep Pete away from Matt!

by Anonymousreply 173July 31, 2019 9:40 AM

Chasten isn’t going to be around for long.

by Anonymousreply 1April 23, 2019 10:40 PM

When is the fundraiser, OP?

by Anonymousreply 2April 23, 2019 10:41 PM

Matt and Pete could be OUR Marilyn Monroe and JFK!

by Anonymousreply 3April 23, 2019 10:41 PM

Where’s that bag of oranges?

by Anonymousreply 4April 23, 2019 10:46 PM

Who will be Pete's Stormy Daniels?

by Anonymousreply 5April 23, 2019 10:48 PM

Chasten will be Jackie.

by Anonymousreply 6April 23, 2019 10:50 PM

Happy birthday, Mr. Buttigieg

by Anonymousreply 7April 23, 2019 11:14 PM

When is the fundraiser?

by Anonymousreply 8April 23, 2019 11:17 PM

It's on June 19th

by Anonymousreply 9April 23, 2019 11:22 PM

Thanks, R9.

by Anonymousreply 10April 23, 2019 11:24 PM

Are you going to crash it? If so, report back to us!

by Anonymousreply 11April 23, 2019 11:32 PM

by Anonymousreply 12April 24, 2019 1:13 AM

This shows some of Pete's inexperience, this is the exact type of thing Pete should avoid and send Chasten. Nothing about this is good optics, a gay candidate going to a fund raiser of almost entirely rich gay white men. I want Pete to do well, this won't help. Send Chasten and Pete should be at some event with poor/middle class black women.

by Anonymousreply 13April 24, 2019 2:10 AM

Poor people don't hold fundraisers - rich people do, r13.

by Anonymousreply 14April 24, 2019 3:16 AM

This will only hurt Pete

by Anonymousreply 15April 24, 2019 4:17 AM

All candidates hold a celebrity or big donor fundraiser at some point.

Why single out Pete?

by Anonymousreply 16April 24, 2019 4:19 AM

R13 You are as ridiculous and bitter and racist as ever!

by Anonymousreply 17April 24, 2019 4:24 AM

I want Pete...……...to win.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 18April 24, 2019 4:35 AM

Pete as a senior in early 2000s. Forget how young he is still.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 19April 24, 2019 4:43 AM

He needs to win over the Hollywood crowd.

by Anonymousreply 20April 24, 2019 4:44 AM

Ryan Murphy is hosting the fundraiser at his home.

And they've invited multiple white "power gay" couples to co-host.

Matt Bomer and husband Simon Halls, Bryan Lourd and husband Bruce Bozzi, Greg Berlanti and husband Robbie Rogers, Jess Cagle and TV writer-producer husband Matt Whitney + Kevin Huvane and Billy Eichner!

If they were going to do this, they should have done this privately.

[quote]You are as ridiculous and bitter and racist as ever!

It's not racist to say that he needs to be seen with a diverse crowd. Do you even know what that word means?

I'm not R13, but they're right. He really does need to appeal to as many people as possible and him surrounded by a group of rich gay white men will be fodder 24 hours later on every news website and Twitter just like it was for a while whenever see saw anyone in this current administration in a room full of their all white staff.

Can't Ryan Murphy call Angela Basset or someone to show up?

He needs to stop acting like he doesn't need the minority votes because him going "Hollywood" this soon is already going to be seen as a negative by many hicks in the south.

by Anonymousreply 21April 24, 2019 4:53 AM

He should stay away from these Hollywood phonies.

by Anonymousreply 22April 24, 2019 4:54 AM

Phonies like trump, Scott baio, bo Derrick, dean cain, and Rosanne Barr? The Republicans wish they could get such talent - especially trump. Celebrities help with fundraising and get free press - Pete needs both. All politicians do it, if they can

by Anonymousreply 23April 24, 2019 5:05 AM

Pete should wear an anal canal chasitity belt. Ms Bomer might try to top him at any time.

by Anonymousreply 24April 24, 2019 5:21 AM

I don't know r23. John Kerry was considered to be hindered by having too many celebrity connections. There was even a billboard someone put up on Sunset Blvd. thanking Ben Affleck, Janeanne Garofalo, Streisand, Sean Penn for helping Bush get reelected.

by Anonymousreply 25April 24, 2019 5:24 AM

But meanwhile the Republicans are allowed to elect a Reality TV star as their President?

by Anonymousreply 26April 24, 2019 5:26 AM

R26, don't go start pretending like there aren't different standards for them than there are for us.

R23, It's too soon.

by Anonymousreply 27April 24, 2019 5:31 AM

It’s amazing how quick Matt abandoned Beto when he campaigned for him last fall. Guess he’s moving on like the rest of the country.

by Anonymousreply 28April 24, 2019 5:33 AM

Matt and Pete are like the most intellectually different gay people on the planet.

Matt is a 1 and Pete a 10.

You look in Matt's eyes and there is nothing going on.

by Anonymousreply 29April 24, 2019 5:35 AM

Gee that Jazz hands moment really sunk Beto.

by Anonymousreply 30April 24, 2019 5:36 AM

Pete doesn’t have to worry about Matt trying to put his penis in him (like he ever does that to anyone). He might want to watch his step though so he doesn’t end up falling into Bomers prolapsed anus.

by Anonymousreply 31April 24, 2019 5:38 AM

This is a fundraiser. It's not a televised event. How will this hurt him any more than anyone else's rich people fundraiser?

by Anonymousreply 32April 24, 2019 5:41 AM

R30 Just like Howard Deans gargle/yell/yodel. So amazing this ONE THING can kill a presidential run.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 33April 24, 2019 5:46 AM

Bomer is off putting

by Anonymousreply 34April 24, 2019 5:47 AM

How so, R34?

He seems innocuous.

by Anonymousreply 35April 24, 2019 5:54 AM

R32 there were press releases/articles all over the internet including the trade mags. You'll see pictures from it. Don't act like this is the same as anyone else's fundraiser. They all want the press from this.

R28 Based upon this list of co-chairs they're all either long time college friends of Bomer's husband like Lourd/Bozzi or his husband's PR clients Berlanti/Murphy. Beto was his own doing because of his Texas connection. I'd say this is mostly his husband's doing and he's going along with it.

by Anonymousreply 36April 24, 2019 5:56 AM

I wanna fuck Pete Buttigieg tbh. Little white butt lol

by Anonymousreply 37April 24, 2019 6:01 AM

r6 Chasten will not be Jackie. Chasten will be Barbara Bush and that's ok.

by Anonymousreply 38April 24, 2019 6:20 AM

R32 our/advocate and any other article with trans or white gay Bernie bros will have a hissy fit. It will just solidify the notion he is and elitist, rich, cis white gay who is toxic

by Anonymousreply 39April 24, 2019 6:56 AM

Bernie has lots of celebrities supporting him.

Why shouldn't Pete get a few?

by Anonymousreply 40April 24, 2019 7:30 AM

HOLLYWOOD IS POISON, PETE!!! DON'T DO IT!!! Sucking up to Hollywood will sink your good midwestern boy down-home image. Just the kind of rookie mistake the Republicans were hoping for.

by Anonymousreply 41April 24, 2019 7:57 AM

R32 because it will get enormous political coverage and blow Pete's chances of winning the Midwest.

Someone needs to put a muzzle on Chasten. He is way too enamored by celebrity. He's attending Broadway openings and now this fundraiser.

by Anonymousreply 42April 24, 2019 8:00 AM

Pete was supposed to be a different kind of Democrat, not an elitist follower of all things WeHo.

by Anonymousreply 43April 24, 2019 8:01 AM

There were two good pieces of advice posted here early on addressed to Mayor Pete. Avoid Hollywood and Robbie Mook. George Takei did it right. Put out a tweet asking people what they thought of Pete after his CNN town hall. Almost 100% positive feed-back or tweets from people who were intrigued and wanted to know more about him. And that’s it. Nothing more about him from George. I agree that the husband seems starstruck. And it’s going to hurt him. Access Hollywood, Extra, Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition and every toxic FOX host will cover this wall to wall. Bevare!

by Anonymousreply 44April 24, 2019 8:20 AM

The ignorant arrogance of Hollywood. Everything they touch turns to shit. Another victim on his way.

by Anonymousreply 45April 24, 2019 8:27 AM

Because the optics of rich white gay men and Hollywood elites surrounding him is going to be used against him. The celebrities who support, or supported, Bernie is a diverse group. And known for their lefty politics. I honestly see a meteoric ride to the bottom if he doesn’t try to broaden his appeal. Lis Smith is really smart but this just seems like a very bad idea.

by Anonymousreply 46April 24, 2019 8:30 AM

Control the narrative. Don't follow their narrative.

So if Pete wants to hold a Hollywood fundraiser he should. Forget others' so-called wisdom that is disingenuous and not supportive.

by Anonymousreply 47April 24, 2019 9:43 AM

R47 no, he shouldn’t if he wants to make it to July.

by Anonymousreply 48April 24, 2019 9:58 AM

Why CAN'T George Takei, Wanda Sykes, Wilson Cruz get an invite?

by Anonymousreply 49April 24, 2019 10:41 AM

This all seems pretty par for the course of a presidential campaign, I'm lost how it could be a bad thing for Buttigieg.

How often do we whine about gays not supporting each other on DL? Here are some rich Hollywood gays doing just that!

Homophobes will never like Pete, doesn't matter if he's seen with other gays in public.

by Anonymousreply 50April 24, 2019 10:50 AM

R42 Whoever provides the best economic deal for the Mid-west will win the Mid-west. The DNC has hopefully figured this out at this point.

by Anonymousreply 51April 24, 2019 10:53 AM

R50 a gay circuit club fundraiser is not par for the course.

Fatal move on Pete's part.

Time for Mitch Landrieu to get into the race.

by Anonymousreply 52April 24, 2019 11:03 AM

R50 see R46.

You're also conveniently forgetting about people who aren't homophobes who will get annoyed that he's being photographed with the "rich elite," who will get annoyed that they're the Hollywood rich elite and who will care that he's spending his time with a group that is completely white which mirrors most of the appearances that he's made and the crowds that turn out for him.

Appealing to one group of people is not how these things are won. It's a glaring problem the he doesn't seem to see as a problem and he really should.

Some of those people were stomping for Beto a few months ago and they dropped him like a bad habit.

by Anonymousreply 53April 24, 2019 11:12 AM

A celebrity endorsement is like a kiss from a unicorn!

by Anonymousreply 54April 24, 2019 11:12 AM

A celebrity endorsement is like a face full of syphilis.

by Anonymousreply 55April 24, 2019 11:28 AM

They only mentioned the people who are hosting the event. Yes, they are white and gay. There are other people who will be invited. How do you know it won't be a somewhat diverse guest list?

by Anonymousreply 56April 24, 2019 2:51 PM

R45 and the right-wingers bitching about evil liberal Hollywood are idiots. Did you complain about Antonio Sabato Jr supporting Trump?

by Anonymousreply 57April 24, 2019 3:44 PM

R56 makes a good point.

They only listed a few of the big names and some of the people who are in charge of organizing it.

Other celebrities will obviously be invited -- some of whom will be from different backgrounds and ethnicity.

by Anonymousreply 58April 24, 2019 5:13 PM

R56 it doesn’t matter who’s on the guest list. What matters is that Hollywood will doom his campaign.

by Anonymousreply 59April 24, 2019 6:11 PM

R58, it doesn't matter and we don't know that for sure.

The problem is that those are the names that they led with. So that is the impression they are giving.

by Anonymousreply 60April 24, 2019 6:20 PM

Ryan Murphy loves his gays

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 61April 24, 2019 6:23 PM

R58, the "impression" exists in your mind only

by Anonymousreply 62April 24, 2019 6:27 PM

With all the attention he is getting, do you think Pete will be able to stay faithful?

by Anonymousreply 63April 24, 2019 6:29 PM

People react off of impressions. I was born in WeHo. I been in programming fir ABC and CBS. I know the negative view the country has about Hollywood.

Pete should know better than to pander to celebrities.

by Anonymousreply 64April 24, 2019 6:30 PM

Pete’s campaign is dead in the water. Bernie’s cruising to victory.

by Anonymousreply 65April 24, 2019 6:34 PM

[quote]With all the attention he is getting, do you think Pete will be able to stay faithful?

No. He’ll be fucking celebrities soon.

by Anonymousreply 66April 24, 2019 6:40 PM

He's too ambitious to fuck around now. Once elected however.

by Anonymousreply 67April 24, 2019 6:44 PM

Hollywood will leave another political carcass on the streets of LA.

by Anonymousreply 68April 24, 2019 6:48 PM

[quote]the "impression" exists in your mind only

R62, Sure. That's why there's an entire fucking thread of people discussing it you ignorant twatsicle.

by Anonymousreply 69April 24, 2019 7:02 PM

r69, those people are called trolls, dear.

by Anonymousreply 70April 24, 2019 7:28 PM

"I know the negative view the country has about Hollywood."

You mean the same hypocrites who bash "evil liberal Hollywood" but don't care about celebs who endorse Republicans like Clint Eastwood? Or the people who claim to hate "Hollywood" but can't go a day without watching a movie or a show or listening to popular music?

by Anonymousreply 71April 24, 2019 7:30 PM

Hollywood has a negative view because it's hypocritical. It claims to be progressive while still being homophobic. Hollywood is trash.

by Anonymousreply 72April 24, 2019 8:12 PM

People are sick of millionaires lecturing them about what’s best for them. Hollywood is a disaster.

by Anonymousreply 73April 24, 2019 8:15 PM

r73 prefers lectures from millionaire Republican politics who preach "family values" but are usually womanizers or secretly gay

by Anonymousreply 74April 24, 2019 8:17 PM

A Hollywood kiss is poison only if you allow them to let you think it's poison. Pete is too smart for that from what I can see. He's not vulnerable.

He's not your regular smalltown Midwestern guy. Rhodes scholar Oxford Afghanistan, young, gay. He trumps celebrity shall we say.

by Anonymousreply 75April 24, 2019 8:28 PM

People here are so naive and quick to judge.. Pete is way smarter and way ahead of you all. There’s only good to come out of this fundraiser. Presidential campaigns aren’t cheap. Nothing wrong in powerful gays in Hollywood looking out for themselves. Pete is not going to leave the rest of the country in dust. That’s what the “good Christian” thing is for as much as I wish he’d drop It. He’s just getting started.

by Anonymousreply 76April 24, 2019 8:33 PM

R71 yes, because the conservatives vote!

by Anonymousreply 77April 24, 2019 9:53 PM

Pete's Rhodes Scholar is not going to save him from the negativity of Hollywood. And any candidate who thinks he needs Hollywood money is never going to win over the red States.

by Anonymousreply 78April 24, 2019 9:56 PM

Fuck the red states, R78, and their deplorable assholes.

Why the fuck do Democrats have to tiptoe on eggshells in order to upsetting mouth breathing trailer park trash in Bumfucke, Kentucky and Backwardsville, Alabama.

Please explain your philosophy, R78.

by Anonymousreply 79April 24, 2019 10:01 PM

R79, because the people in PA, OH, MI, and WI are swing voters and their votes are important, and most of them can’t stand the hypocrisy of Hollywood liberals.

by Anonymousreply 80April 24, 2019 10:16 PM

And I can't fucking stand their hypocrisy in supporting a dirtball scumbag, lying ass, thrice divorced, pussy grabby, thieving jerkoff like Donald Trump and their assertion that this jack ass has been appointed by "God" to save America.

Again, fuck them and fuck the horse they rode in on. Stop catering to these assholes and let them wallow in the shit they created for themselves.

by Anonymousreply 81April 24, 2019 10:32 PM

r78, did you know I was the FIRST OUT RHODES SCHOLAR?

by Anonymousreply 82April 24, 2019 10:56 PM

Rachel Maddow is a typical out-of-touch elite liberal. People in the Midwest can’t stand her.

by Anonymousreply 83April 24, 2019 11:04 PM

Trump himself was in essence a Hollywood elite not too long ago even tho he didn’t live in Hollywood per we. Pete is smart he has the red state red necks covered with his “Jesus” spiel. Not like those people have any principles or anything.

by Anonymousreply 84April 25, 2019 12:11 AM

[quote]Pete is smart he has the red state red necks covered with his “Jesus” spiel.

No, he doesn’t. They’re not voting for a ‘mo.

by Anonymousreply 85April 25, 2019 12:16 AM

R79 because they VOTE! And they have the electoral college votes locked up. So unless Pete plans on running for President of California, he has no business pandering to Hollywood elites.

by Anonymousreply 86April 25, 2019 12:29 AM

I don't understand why people are making such a big deal about this. Obama had back-to-back Hollywood fundraisers in 2007. Too bad he wasn't elected...oh wait. Pete's main problem is that he doesn't appeal to minorities at this point, not that he's fundraising.

Goop is also holding a fundraiser for him btw.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 87April 25, 2019 12:50 AM

I agree this is not the right look for Pete. Too elitist. One of Obama s rules was not attending personally fundraisers in private homes............I dont think Sanders does it either.

by Anonymousreply 88April 25, 2019 12:56 AM

R83 I'm not in the Mid-west and I've given up on her. She used to be incredible but she's gone down the rabbit hole.

by Anonymousreply 89April 25, 2019 1:29 AM

"And any candidate who thinks he needs Hollywood money is never going to win over the red States."

Huh? Pretty much all mainstream politicians accept "Hollywood money"

by Anonymousreply 90April 25, 2019 2:04 AM

It was a pleasure blocking R65.

by Anonymousreply 91April 25, 2019 2:08 AM

Wait!! Matt Bomer is a top?

by Anonymousreply 92April 25, 2019 2:13 AM

As a Canadian I can tell you right now that when a Presidential candidate gets the attention of Hollywood and their $$$$$$ that means that he's really getting noticed and is making it. Good for him and GO PETE!!

by Anonymousreply 93April 25, 2019 2:15 AM

R87 Obama ran on Bush fatigue and an economic catastrophe. He could also get the black vote out. Pete doesn’t have either luxury.

And Twitter is all a flutter about these Hollywood fundraisers advising him not to do it.

by Anonymousreply 94April 25, 2019 2:21 AM

R93 it means he’s getting noticed by a liberal state disenfranchised by 49 other states.

by Anonymousreply 95April 25, 2019 2:23 AM

Yeah, r94, because twitter commentators would never be full of shit.

by Anonymousreply 96April 25, 2019 2:23 AM

R90 huh, no they don’t.

by Anonymousreply 97April 25, 2019 2:23 AM

R96 Bookmark this thread when Pete’s Hollywood fundraiser tanks his campaign.

by Anonymousreply 98April 25, 2019 2:24 AM

R94 What nonsense. As Canadians we could see that the Leftist Press was completely behind Obama in order to elect him as the first black President. He would never have won without the outpouring of the Press. It should have been Hillary's time to win.

by Anonymousreply 99April 25, 2019 2:26 AM

r98, if you think this will affect him one way or the other you are dense. The "evil liberal Hollywood" crowd does not support him anyway. The same losers who support Clint Eastwood and other "Hollywood" types who are vocal Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 100April 25, 2019 2:28 AM

Who the fuck cares if movie stars give him cash? Sheesh. The average voter isn't keeping track. They're not wondering id Matt fucking Bomer is a fan of Pete's. Fer chrissakes. The guy needs to raise cash. If he was taking money from Big Pharma or Boeing than it would be a big deal, but from some gay Hollywood people? No one gives a fuck except the pundits of DL

by Anonymousreply 101April 25, 2019 2:29 AM

Next thing you know Mayor Pete will be wearing sunglasses at night and popping his collar!

by Anonymousreply 102April 25, 2019 2:32 AM

R102 Jealous?! Pete is making it big time and we should all be proud!

by Anonymousreply 103April 25, 2019 2:37 AM

R99 you don’t know anything about American politics. Obama couldn’t lose because Bush was a fucking failure.

by Anonymousreply 104April 25, 2019 2:43 AM

r104, he wasn't running against Bush.

by Anonymousreply 105April 25, 2019 2:46 AM

R104 Fuck off with your nonsense. Hillary would have won - as she should have - if the Press hadn't got behind Obama.

by Anonymousreply 106April 25, 2019 2:46 AM

Hillary supporters have this sense of entitlement. Thinking that two elections were somehow stolen from her is part of the reason she lost twice. TWICE.

by Anonymousreply 107April 25, 2019 2:47 AM

R101 Hollywood could donate quietly. The issue is the big fanfare fundraiser which will turn-off the Midwest which the Democrats desperately need.

Pete should be driving throughout the South for the black vote. They hold his candidacy in their hands, not fucking Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 108April 25, 2019 2:47 AM

R106 Hillary would’ve lost either campaign. That’s why even the Kennedy’s wouldn’t endorse her.

by Anonymousreply 109April 25, 2019 2:49 AM

"The issue is the big fanfare fundraiser which will turn-off the Midwest which the Democrats desperately need."

Please, most midwesterners will not care one way or the other if he goes to a fundraiser. All politicians do fundraisers with rich people. Big whoop.

"Pete should be driving throughout the South for the black vote."

Uh, duh, he can do that AND go to a fundraiser.

Some of these comments are so stupid I suspect a trolling effort on the part of Log Cabinettes.

by Anonymousreply 110April 25, 2019 2:50 AM

R105 he was running against McCain, but Obama won because whatever political party fucks up the most, loses. Bush fucked up and left an economic mess throwing the election to the Democrats.

by Anonymousreply 111April 25, 2019 2:51 AM

R110 yes, they do care because they’re not invited to the wealth party. Trump won because the Republicans do a fantastic job at pinning Hollywood as out of touch elites.

by Anonymousreply 112April 25, 2019 2:54 AM

R110 so far Pete’s lacking in the black support department and when Biden announces tomorrow, he won’t have a chance at the black vote at all.

by Anonymousreply 113April 25, 2019 2:55 AM

R108 You're really out of touch. Latinos are now the minority group to be reckoned with, scores of them. The thing is to get them to stop giving away their votes to Trump.

Blacks only make up 12 or 13 % of the American population and considering that many of them don't vote, their vote doesn't count for much, despite all the hoopla.

by Anonymousreply 114April 25, 2019 2:56 AM

R113 See 114 You have no sense of reality. Go to bed now Chicago Troll. And stop littering this website with your propaganda.

by Anonymousreply 115April 25, 2019 2:59 AM

"Trump won because the Republicans do a fantastic job at pinning Hollywood as out of touch elites."

And yet Trump invited Hollywood actors like Antonio Sabato and Scott Baio to speak at the Republican convention. Try again.

"yes, they do care because they’re not invited to the wealth party."

All politicians have fundraisers hosted by wealthy people. Try again.

You trolls need to work harder.

by Anonymousreply 116April 25, 2019 2:59 AM

Latinos are not voting for a homosexual. They are more homophobic and religious than African-Americans.

by Anonymousreply 117April 25, 2019 3:02 AM

Then why is support for gay marriage at over 60% in the Hispanic community but only at just over 50% in the AA community, R117?

by Anonymousreply 118April 25, 2019 3:03 AM

R118 "Supporting" gay marriage isn't the same as voting for a gay candidate. Many people who "support" gay marriage aren't pro-gay, they just don't believe religious beliefs should be forced on others. Many religious Republicans voted for gay marriage even though they don't support homosexuality in their personal life.

by Anonymousreply 119April 25, 2019 3:27 AM

r116 Sabato and Baio haven't been Hollywood since like 1996

by Anonymousreply 120April 25, 2019 3:35 AM

r119, you said that Latinos are more homophobic than black people. The stats disprove that, as Latinos support gay marriage at a much higher rate, which means they are less homophobic.

by Anonymousreply 121April 25, 2019 3:42 AM

“Pete should be driving throughout the South for the black vote”

Why do you assume he won’t do that? He’s just getting started and he’ll need money to do what you’re saying. Hence the fundraiser. duh

by Anonymousreply 122April 25, 2019 3:44 AM

R121 Well, you're correct if the statistic is true. I'm not ashamed to admit if I'm wrong.

by Anonymousreply 123April 25, 2019 3:58 AM

R114 in other words, Pete’s fucked on the Latino vote, as well. He’s not going to find it at a Matt Bomer fundraiser.

by Anonymousreply 124April 25, 2019 4:02 AM

"Sabato and Baio haven't been Hollywood since like 1996"

Sabato still works, just in shit no one sees

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 125April 25, 2019 4:04 AM

R116 LOL Antonio Sabato and Scott Baio haven’t been Hollywood since Joanie Loves Chachi!

I wonder how Pete will be received by blacks in the South. I don’t think well at all.

There are some very vehement black people in twitter who think he’s Satan. I was just tweeting to one today. This guy was insisting the 1000 houses in 1000 days were all 100% torn down and many poor black residents were thrown out of their houses which were then torn to the ground.

When someone said that wasn’t true, he said, prove it. So I sent a bunch of stuff proving everything he said was wrong. He then said, well, I still won’t vote for him. It was obvious he didn’t care what was true, he would never vote for him. Another Kamala voter.

I don’t remember black people not caring about anything that came out of Obama’s mouth as long as he was black. At the beginning, many blacks actually preferred Hillary. Obama had to win them over. Kamala just seems like an affirmative action vote for some people in the black community. Who cares what she says, just look at her.

Meanwhile, everyone else does care what she says and it’s not that great. Anyone think she’s a unifier like Obama? Or has his charm? No.

by Anonymousreply 127April 25, 2019 4:06 AM

There is no gay marriage. It got rebranded into Marriage Equality. The one time the Democrats found the right language to get their initiative past.

They should rebrand Dreamers, Sanctuary Cities, and drop Reparations all together.

by Anonymousreply 128April 25, 2019 4:07 AM

Pete Buttigieg calms them “welcoming cities,” meaning, don’t ask don’t tell, basically. He says otherwise illegals won’t cooperate with law enforcement to help catch criminals, so they don’t ask.

by Anonymousreply 129April 25, 2019 4:10 AM

Calls them ^^

by Anonymousreply 130April 25, 2019 4:10 AM

As black person, I don't understand where all this reparations talk suddenly came from. I don't remember Obama talking about reparations and he was probably the best shot at getting it.

by Anonymousreply 131April 25, 2019 4:11 AM

I kind of feel like the demand for reparations is coming from Russian trolls.

by Anonymousreply 132April 25, 2019 4:12 AM

^its coming from Al Sharpton.

by Anonymousreply 133April 25, 2019 4:13 AM

You’d have to run reparations through Congress because they have the power of the purse.

Anyone seeing McTurtle voting for reparations? If so, see your doctor.

by Anonymousreply 134April 25, 2019 4:23 AM

R124 Pete WILL get votes from all groups. He's that well liked!

by Anonymousreply 135April 25, 2019 4:25 AM

Another thread devolving into racist attacks against 'the blacks.' You homos can't help yourselves. GFYS r127.

by Anonymousreply 136April 25, 2019 4:26 AM

"Kamala just seems like an affirmative action vote for some people in the black community. Who cares what she says, just look at her."

For a Dem, you sure seem to talk like a racist Republican troll

by Anonymousreply 137April 25, 2019 4:27 AM

Kamala has to prove her blackness because she is half black. She isn't guaranteed the black vote.

by Anonymousreply 138April 25, 2019 4:29 AM

R136 Listen you poor asshole, quite twisting things around. YOU are the one that is racist and homophobic. GET A LIFE!!!

by Anonymousreply 139April 25, 2019 4:33 AM

Poor Kamala and Eric, no flashy gay fundraisers for them and their the Californian’s in the race.

by Anonymousreply 140April 25, 2019 4:39 AM

Wow!

This turned into a thread full of racist trolls and people who aren't trolls but happen to be racist in record time!

by Anonymousreply 141April 25, 2019 5:01 AM

Started out as a homophobic thread with a tired dig at Matt Bomer and then rapidly devolved to a predictably racist thread.

by Anonymousreply 142April 25, 2019 5:17 AM

No, it didn’t.

by Anonymousreply 143April 25, 2019 5:25 AM

R140, interesting point. So are Kamala or Eric getting any Hollywood fundraisers? Presumably people in Hollywood know who they are. If not, why not?

by Anonymousreply 144April 25, 2019 5:41 AM

Neither Harris nor Swalwell will make it out of Iowa.

by Anonymousreply 145April 25, 2019 5:51 AM

Money is the mothership milk of politics and this fundraiser is a great way to get some. Trump has never turned down a a photo op with any level of celebrity, eg Michael Jackson, in his life. Republicans love Hollywood more than any Democrat...they drool with envy

by Anonymousreply 146April 25, 2019 5:57 AM

Agreed, R146.

I can't believe how many drama queens this thread has brought out.

by Anonymousreply 147April 25, 2019 7:33 AM

[quote]I don’t remember black people not caring about anything that came out of Obama’s mouth as long as he was black.

You forget a lot.

You forget "He's not really black."

You don't remember "He's not black enough."

It didn't last terribly long, but it was a real thing.

Oh, and you really overgeneralize.

by Anonymousreply 148April 25, 2019 7:39 AM

r140 If I am not mistaken, Ryan M had a fundraiser for Kamala on 12 April?

I think it is a matter of spreading it out...why can't you support two or three candidates at this time? The first primary is only next year. So much could happen by then.

But I have to say, the so-called 'woke" people on twitter are starting to get on my nerves. Wanting a 'pure' candidate and tearing all others down is the best way to get DTJ re-elected. Can you imagine the state of the US at the end of that?

by Anonymousreply 149April 25, 2019 7:53 AM

Pete needs to steer clear of Gwyneth and her grifting ways.

r131 Obama said he felt reparations would not be feasible, I agree with him and don't get exactly how they would even work.

by Anonymousreply 150April 25, 2019 8:05 AM

Pete's candidacy is over now that Biden's going to suck all the air out of Democracy.

by Anonymousreply 151April 25, 2019 11:30 AM

Remember that Pete doesn't necessarily expect to win the nomination during his first run.

As long as sets up a good foundation, he can run again next time. He's still young.

by Anonymousreply 152April 25, 2019 11:31 AM

He won't with a Gay celeb fundraiser.

by Anonymousreply 153April 25, 2019 11:42 PM

R153 = concern troll. Dems do not care about a gay fundraiser

by Anonymousreply 154April 25, 2019 11:50 PM

R153, you act like Pete is only doing a gay fundraiser and nothing else.

He will be doing events with lots of other people.

by Anonymousreply 155April 25, 2019 11:55 PM

Gay and gayer

by Anonymousreply 156April 26, 2019 12:10 AM

R153 he won’t make it out of Iowa.

by Anonymousreply 157April 26, 2019 12:12 AM

I'm a fan of Pete's but agree that he has no chance. The majority of blacks and latinos will not vote for him.

by Anonymousreply 158April 26, 2019 12:25 AM

R158 = Bernie Bro who thinks black people love Bernie

by Anonymousreply 159April 26, 2019 12:28 AM

Do Latinos generally support Beto? Julian Castro?

by Anonymousreply 160April 26, 2019 12:30 AM

R158, obviously we'll have to see how many people will actually vote for a gay man, but a recent poll posted on another thread showed the majority of Americans would vote for a gay President.

by Anonymousreply 161April 26, 2019 12:31 AM

R161, can you link you that thread? Thanks

by Anonymousreply 162April 26, 2019 12:58 AM

R159 Not a Bernie bros.. As I said, I'm a big fan of Pete's. I will vote for whoever will get Trump out of office. Currently my 1 & 2 are Warren and Pete. I honestly like most of the contenders for the Dem's.

by Anonymousreply 163April 26, 2019 1:10 AM

R162, here's the poll from earlier this month:

Nearly 70 percent of Americans are okay with a gay president

by Anonymousreply 164April 26, 2019 5:10 AM

R154 but Republicans, the midwest and south do.

by Anonymousreply 165April 26, 2019 2:10 PM

Matt wants Pete deep inside his ass. This would make history as the first presidential candidate having butt sex with a man.

by Anonymousreply 166April 26, 2019 2:28 PM

R154, are you and your fellow deplorables in the midwest and south as concerned with the fund raisers your dickhead leader, DJT, attends. You know the ones at Mar-a-Lago, where no one with a net worth of less than of 10 million is allowed within 1000 feet of the place, so that pretty much precludes you and other asshole deplorables.

I think you and other Republicans thinking a multi millionaire from New York City is some sort of populist folk hero/man of the people shows just how deranged you people really are.

by Anonymousreply 167April 26, 2019 2:41 PM

Bring back Marco Rubio! I love latino hole.

by Anonymousreply 168April 26, 2019 3:08 PM

I don't think Chasten has anything to worry about. Firstly, Matt already has a top, and bottoms usually aren't attracted to power in the same way as women. There'd be a small risk if Pete was rich, but Matt is richer than him in his own right, and has a rich top.

by Anonymousreply 169April 26, 2019 4:35 PM

I have a feeling some “funny business” would definitely happen between Matt and Pete....I know I would let Pete make a “deposit” in my butt bank, and I’d have no worries about him being negative.

by Anonymousreply 170April 26, 2019 4:41 PM

Yeah, Pete is pretty hot

by Anonymousreply 171April 26, 2019 11:09 PM

How can I get invited to that party? I’ll gladly contribute if I can be there.

by Anonymousreply 172June 8, 2019 8:52 PM

Seth MacFarlane, hardcore Pete supporter!!
