I’ve always found purity balls to be foul in concept. What kind of father monitors their daughter’s sex life. Sure watch out for them when they start dating but a party announcing your sexual situation to a roomful of mixed company? It’s beyond odd.

It’s a way for those fathers to announce to the social circles they’re in that the daughter will be a good prospect, untainted goods, “a lady of quality”. One of those situations where the term “patriarchy” applies.
