How long were you with your partner before you realized you loved him?

It took about 6 months for me. I was always on the fence, for some reason. We went on a trip together where everything that could go wrong, went wrong--missed flights, lost hotel reservations, etc. This was so frustrating for me because I'm a pretty organized person and nothing went as planned.

He was amazingly chill about everything and he made me see the fun side of all this mishap. I specifically remember the very moment I knew I was in love with him.

My work mistakenly made a reservation at a hotel specifically designed for families with kids--In each room, there were cartoon drawings on the walls, video consoles, and bunk beds. My now-partner just laughed so hard (because it came at the end of a crazy day of traveling) and then got so excited about the kids stuff in the room. That was the moment.

About two months in. We were standing in his kitchen as I was getting ready to leave after spending the weekend with him. We were just talking but I kept thinking whether I should tell him I love him or was it too soon? Then he just calmly said, “I love you so much.” I melted and told him I loved him, too, and admitted to just being worried it was too soon to say. We’ve said I love you every single day for over six years now.

Loved your story, OP.
