Military would be 1000x better than the islamists but I think the people would like a functioning democracy. Let's not forget Algeria was part of France. Not a colony, a DEPARTMENT of France. Of course had been a colony. The war of Independence or the "Revolution" was quite incredible and they deserve better than what it has become.

Okay I guess you are happy with the state of affairs in America. Our government is corrupt. Governments all over the world are corrupt as hell and many have been for a long long time. Rich people are vacuuming up resources and anything of any value and they mean to keep it away from regular people. It's good to see some people fight back because it's clear white America (because that is where the push need to come from) is too stymied or lazy to even consider fighting back.

Americans are brain washed to believe in the "American dream" and "upward mobility". They are purposefully kept provincial so as not to question the lack of services and security normally available in a very rich country. Most of Algeria's wealth, unfortunately, is oil and gas and only a few people are really getting the profits. It should have a vast tourism economy but "revolutionary" nationalist mindset followed by the Islamists nixed that. Pity. Cuba of North Africa.
