My husband and I are 55 and 61. His dearest friend in the world is 73, and our other closest friends are 30. 36, 37, 50, 52, and 53.
What about you? Do you mostly have friends who are around your own age, or are they of different ages?

I have invited friends over to my place tonight, the oldest is 66, but 57, 50, 46, 35 and 40 are represented too

I'm 46. My friends range in age from their 20s to their 70s. I'm much more about personality and conversation and shared interests than age. Always have been. I had friends in my 40s when I was in my 20s.

I'm 54 and my good friends range from early 40s to 60s.

I've always had friends of all ages. When I was in my late teens and early 20s, one of my best friends was a 50 year old woman. I always got along with everyone at work regardless of age. Still do. I was the same way at the bars when I used to go.

I'm 62. I have a close friend who is 31 and another who's 74.

I am now in 60s, always have had friends (not referencing sexual relationships) from 20s to 60s. Partner is 17 years younger and we've been together over 25 years. These friends center around chatting, fishing, sometimes dinner, visiting, watching a movie occasionally, etc. My partner doesn't go out much and has a bit of social anxiety. I haven't gone to nightclubs/bars for many years. There's about a dozen friends, male & female, I would call "good" friends.

OP, yes. I have friends from their 20s - 60s -- I'm 35. I appreciate their different perspectives and life experiences.

I have good friendships with people between 30 and 85.

And yet in most threads it's clear few DLers have ever had more than a cursory conversation with anyone under 40

I do. Friends 20+ years older I picked up from my years around artists and 20 years younger from my work life. I'm 43.
There was a time when despite age differences the common trait was, we all didn't have kids. Now it's a mix.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
