Aretha Franklin Wins The Pulitzer Prize

Aretha Franklin, Detroit's "Queen of Soul," has been honored with the Pulitzer Prize for her decades of achievement.

The Pulitzer Prizes announced the honor Monday at the 2019 Pulitzer Prizes for Arts, Drama and Music, naming Franklin a winner "for her indelible contribution to American music and culture for more than five decades."
