Definitely Penn unless the family finally admits he has special needs and he gets appointed as a high-profile nonprofit ambassador and skips college.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 13, 2019 3:35 PM |
Well, Trump holds the institution of McDonald's in high esteem and Hamburger University is at least as good as Trump University, so that's a possibility.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 13, 2019 3:35 PM |
He's got alot going against him. Many academic elites (esp. professors) loathe Trump and there would be a huge uproar if his kid got in on money. And the only way he's getting in is on money because he has pretty severe learning disabilities and goes to a school for children with ADHD and certain learning disabilities. He'll prob end up at some private conservative college Trump can pay off, like Notre Dame. Catholics love Trump because they have somehow convinced themselves that he didn't pay for a bunch of abortions.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 13, 2019 3:38 PM |
R5 He does go to a school for kids with learning disabilities. The language is very veiled, but his private school specializes in intellectual and learning disabilities. A coworker of mine has a learning disabled daughter and is trying to get her into Barron’s school. It is discreet about advertising the programs for special needs kids.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 13, 2019 3:46 PM |
Either a Vocational facility as R1 said or Clown College. And once Trump University becomes accredited, he's definitely got an edge.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 13, 2019 3:49 PM |
Barron’s school. Read between the lines: they specialize in strategies relating to ‘executive functioning’ and to ‘reduce pressure.’
“All students are able to work collaboratively or one-on-one to develop executive functioning and time management skills in an effort to help prepare the student and reduce pressure. The Education Center and the College Counseling office work together proactively to ensure the right fit for all students. Furthermore, the Education Center and the CTTL work together to stay on top of research in the area of academic strategies so that all students can reach his or her potential.”

[quote]Many academic elites (esp. professors) loathe Trump and there would be a huge uproar if his kid got in on money.
Define "on money." Are you talking about a full-ride scholarship? Even by Trump standards this would be a bit much, considering he's One of the Most Successful Businessmen in Global Business History.
The one positive thing I'll say about Melania is that she's kept Barron's shit largely secret and away from prying eyes. I'd be stunned if she allowed him to be "placed" anywhere without her permission, and I'd be equally stunned if she had any interest in sending him to a school like Penn where his learning disability would pretty much guarantee his failure. (Not that I'm assuming this necessarily applies to him, but still.)
Btw R5 calling ADHD a "learning disability" is a significant stretch, considering the millions of kids on Adderall or Ritalin these days. I'll hazard a guess Barron is significantly more impaired, e.g. autism spectrum or something, and certainly legitimately so.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 13, 2019 3:57 PM |
Holy shit, R8 - I've seen various promotional stuff for Blackbaud (which also has a huge office in my city) but had no idea it was intended for special-needs kids! That's some seriously slick marketing.

by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 13, 2019 3:59 PM |
Oh, wait. Blackbaud just does the software; it's not a school. D'oh!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 13, 2019 3:59 PM |
R10/R12 Yeah, Blackbaud is a software platform. It’s the school that is (not exclusively) a special-needs servicer. Potomac, MD is basically the Beverly Hills of Maryland, and rich people with ID kids unfortunately tend to keep it on the down low. That school is where a lot of aristocratic people send their kids. I’ve mentioned it here before and people lost their shit because I told the truth I know about the school because it implies that Barron may have a disability. I don’t see it as shameful in any way. It’s a shame to me that other people do.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 13, 2019 4:05 PM |
Also, the school is not exclusively for special-needs kids, but it does specialize in serving them...which if you ask me is a clever way to ensure no one specifically identifies its students as having special needs, because many but not all do.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 13, 2019 4:06 PM |
R9 - By "on money", I mean that he gets in to a school because his dad writes a big check. He's def not getting any scholarship, needs-based and, from what I know, not merit-based.
I know people with kids at Barron's school. From what I hear, he is not really that "verbal", so I'd guess significantly impaired beyond ADHD, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 13, 2019 4:07 PM |
Barron's school is largely known as an ADHD school. Prob one of the very best in the country. The kids I personally know at his school have ADHD but are very bright. I suspect that Barron is an exception in terms of having more severe learning problems and that he got into his school via large check, not based on standards that would apply to most other kids at his school.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 13, 2019 4:09 PM |
Notably, Barron’s dad did not write a gigantic check to the DeVos family to get him into one of their poorly performing for-profit charter schools.

Potomac isn't the Beverly Hills of Maryland. It's not urban enough. Chevy Chase is like BH. Bethesda is like Brentwood. Potomac is like... Something in Orange County. There's nothing as low-density on the Westside that's comparable (Bel Air is much more expensive than Potomac). .
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 13, 2019 4:44 PM |

I seriously doubt Trump could give a rat's ass about what college that kid gets into. He's gone on record saying he thinks the kid is a retard. Trump probably wouldn't spend a dime trying to get that kid into a good school, or any school. By the time he gets to college age Trump and Melania will be long divorced most likely.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 13, 2019 4:51 PM |
R22 Oy! I didn’t say they are sister cities. I’m just saying Potomac is a ritzy suburban area. Beverly Hills is hardly urban. It’s a snooty, quiet suburb with an indoor mall and an outdoor mall called Rodeo Drive that, yes, is like the Mazza Gallerie in Chevy Chase (DC, I believe), or like Tysons Galleria in McLean, Virginia.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 13, 2019 4:53 PM |
The last thing that Barron needs is to be playing a sport like soccer, with balls bounced against his head.
If the kid showed any type of promise in the sport, Trump would be declaring those successes daily and Barron's games would be broadcast on Fox News.

Trump is probably hoping Barron will get a traumatic brain injury so that he can blame soccer instead of his sperm for any intellectual challenges.

R30 I’ve been to Beverly Hills many a time. From my perspective, having grown up in the strip mall wasteland of Northern Virginia and now living in Kalorama, about a mile and a half south of Chevy Chase...in my mind, Beverly Hills is more like NoVA than it is like DC. You have to drive and park to get anywhere. I don’t recall a lot of apartment/condo buildings, which, to me, are characteristic of cities. But it doesn’t really matter. Like, at all. So why are we arguing about this?

Barron will do just fine. Regardless of what happens, he's financially set for life... and has a mom who will UNQUESTIONABLY keep him on a tight financial leash to make sure he can't turn into a pothead. He'll go to college, graduate in 7-8 years with a decent GPA after taking 2-3 classes/semester with an army of tutors to keep him on track, and will eventually drift into a career that lets him do whatever he's into, without having to worry about whether it's profitable or lucrative.
Aspie kids can be quite smart... they just have serious problems with executive function (prioritizing action, staying 'on task', doing boring-but-necessary grunt work, etc). In Barron's case, he HAS the resources to blossom, because he'll never HAVE to worry about things that normally stress out Aspies (like working at a job for income, vs self-actualization).
And yes, he'll totally *hate* his dad... and blame him for every insult ever thrown at him by anyone. He'll resent his mom for keeping him on a leash, but grudgingly tolerate it because he'll eventually figure out that living without her resources is infinitely worse than humoring her.
On the downside, his social life will probably be fucked forever... Aspies pretend to not care, but secretly are *tormented* by rejection. Thanks to his dad's notoriety, he probably gets *firehosed* by public scorn. His therapists' problem will be getting him to understand that he can't blame literally all of his social deficiencies on dad-driven persecution forever, and eventually has to take the initiative to improve his own social functioning.
I can guarantee he won't go to a "christian" college. Aspies generally take a dim view of authoritarian religious dogma.
He WILL get into a fraternity... one of the 'nerdy' ones... though probably not until year 5 or 6 of his 7-8 year stint. And it will be the most valuable thing he'll get out of college, because it'll teach him that having friends & a social life IS worthwhile & rewarding.
In the grand scheme of things, Barron is luckier than 99% of Aspie kids, but less-lucky than the 0.9% whose parents are merely rich (but non-notorious).

Thw Trump kids are enigmas. Ivanka speaks well. She is articulate, which means she can think rationally and coherently, even if she has no real personal code of ethics.
Don Junior has his father’s temperament but seems a little less idiotic when he speaks, but certainly not as intelligent as his father when it comes to mass manipulation.
Eric comes across as intellectually limited. He graduated from Georgetown, but there has to be a reason besides his inbred features that they keep him mostly hidden away from public appearances.
Tiffany looks like She-Eric. She doesn’t seem intellectually disabled when she speaks, but she presents herself like a 14 year-old white trash girl desperate to get impregnated by some 40 year old addict who owns his own trailer.

Trump is 300 pounds of ego and hot air and having freaky looking kids and one with a developmental disorder embarrasses him. That’s the truth of it. As a narcissist, he may sort of love them but he only exists as an ego. If he is a sociopath, he probably doesn’t really love anyone at all.

by Anonymous | reply 90 | March 14, 2019 3:00 AM |
r86, the thing is, Barron probably isn't *interested* in running a financial empire.
Probably the *worst* case (for him) would be if he developed a skyscraper fetish, went to college to double-major in architecture & structural engineering, then inherited his dad's empire in time to try and build his own skyscrapers the way HE wants them to be.
He'd go bankrupt within a year or two, and probably end up in prison for gross mismanagement of investor funds & fraud. Not from malice or greed, mind you... just desperation to avoid failure that would push him to hide things (honestly believing it would save the project) until they snowballed out of control and everything came crashing down at once.
Why? Building skyscrapers is a delicate balancing act of luck, logistics, and bullshit. You have this IMMENSE, STAGGERING concentration of capital where EVERYTHING has to happen in exactly the right order at precisely the right time to avoid bankrupting everyone involved if some delay causes an interest or tax payment to come due before you have the cash flow from closed purchases to pay them.
Trump sucks at being president, but despite his failed construction projects, he legitimately earned a reputation for success in an industry where failure is frequent and devastating. To succeed at getting skyscrapers built, being a first-rate bullshitter is REQUIRED, or the banks & investors financing a project will pull the plug at the first HINT of trouble & leave EVERYONE in a world of financial pain.
I honestly don't think Barron is cut out to bullshit, because Aspies in general SUCK at bullshitting AND view it as beneath their dignity. Trump is a sociopath who gets personal satisfaction out of taking advantage of "stupid" people and "suckers". Barron, in contrast, would be more likely to throw down an ultimatum, then angrily take his ball & go home at the first hint of resistance.
The best case for Barron (if he became an architect-engineer) would be leaving the business end up to Jared or Ivanka, but getting THEM to build his creations.
