If you had to choose. Why?
Eastern Time Zone would be more like it. I am right now posting this from the Midtown Atlanta area. I love it here.

Every region has its charm, but at this point in life, I can't imagine living anywhere east of the Rockies.

Would love to live on West. But have been on East for 50 years. Afraid it’s not gonna happen.

I'm in Ohio, on EST. I would like the West Coast, since I'm a gardener, and I'm fascinated by the varieties of plants that can be grown on the West Coast. Things that are essentially impossible to grow in the Midwest seem to be easy there. When I see photos of palm trees with snow in Oregon, I'm just so intrigued. I've actually grown a palm outdoors for several years in Ohio, and I have a big clump of bananas growing at my boyfriends house, but to be able to grow these strange plants from Chile or South Africa would keep me from every feeling bored.

The heart of America will always be the east coast. Everybody else is "the rest"

I live on the west coast (north of San Francisco) and can imagine myself living lots of other places but I know I'll never move.
But I like to fantasize and places I'd like to live include the Pacific Northwest (love the Oregon coast), all of New England and New York and Manhattan, Savanna, GA, Miami, Chicago, Boston, Cleveland, etc.
The place I'd least like to live is the South West. Parts are beautiful but I like to be near large bodies of water.

Of the other three, I would have chosen Great Lakes. The Michigan coast is beautiful -- some Chicago friends took me. Wineries; nice, peaceful, sandy beaches. I can't imagine what winter there is like though.

West Coat, absolutely. I did my time in Manhattan in my 20s. I enjoyed it, but you couldn’t pay me to move back.

Hey Southwest, when you run out of water, don't come crying to the Great Lakes states.

I like not needing a snow shovel or an air conditioner: West Coast.

I've lived on both. East Coast under 30. West Coast post 30.

Where on earth do you live that you don’t need one or the other? Maybe in San Francisco proper, but that’s about it.
