I'd like Platt more in this and the other song/video if he didn't overdo the plaintiveness in his singing. It might work in the context of an Original Cast CD, but a pop album needs a little more restraint.

Agree R14 - the song is a large helping of self-indulgent "I'm so fragile" crap. He makes Sam Smith look tough, even if he is a better singer.

There were definitely some Dear Evan Hansen superfans that thought he was straight. I got the gay vibe the moment I saw him in Pitch Perfect... also the only time I've been attracted to him.
