It's when you piggyback on someone's good credit by being made an authorized user on their credit cards. It boosts your credit score. If you don't have family or friends willing to allow it, you can pay for it. It poses no threat to their credit, because you never have possession of the card.

If the person you piggyback on did that I suppose it could. I've never heard of that happening though.
