by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 19, 2019 6:45 PM |
This is not surprising. I’ve had so many friends that worked for Donald Trump over the years. He employs a lot of gay people. He is a New Yorker after all.

Does he have any ideologies? He seems to be all over the map.

I love how you present this as if his administration is the first one to think of it, OP.
Cute, but what about our "best friend Russia" and its treatment of gay people?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 19, 2019 6:46 PM |
Does that mean that this US policy will be reversed?

R3 - so basically this guy can't win - he is doing something to help the gay population and you find fault with it. Not to mention his SOTU address where he is vowing to end HIV/AIDS. Some of you are major turkeys.

Just hover over that link and see it's about a gay guy hung in Iran. He don't give a shit about gays, he sees it as a cudgel to beat Iran with. I support the move, but the motive behind it is cynical, and the man and his advisers can still all die and go to hell.
TROLL. THREAD. CLOSED!!
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 19, 2019 6:49 PM |
I suspect this is part of Trump's campaign against Iran and will only encourage these countries to become even more anti-gay.

Haven't Evangelicals been largely responsible for pushing to get laws that criminalize homosexuality passed? It's those same Evangelicals who comprise most of his base. Is he going to tell them to stop?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 19, 2019 6:51 PM |
I'm very surprised that this got past Pence as the behind-the-scenes Cheney like power behind the throne. Mother must be seething!

by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 19, 2019 6:52 PM |
The evangelicals in his circle will make sure this doesn't go beyond a declaration. The Global Equality Fund, launched by Obama and gutted by Trump, made tremendous impact on a grassroots level. More than any ridiculous declaration by Trump ever will.
r6 Yes, this article is the correct response to this ridiculous news. Even the UN said this new policy was motivated by nothing other than spite.

And ALL the candidates, ALL of them are supporting the T bill which means the transing of gay children. And "identity" over "sex" when means homosexuality doesn't exist and more trans trans trans.

Did Canada go through this transgender stuff and “queer” stuff when they legalized gay marriage? What about Massachusetts? I don’t recall. Why just here in the US? There’s definitely to it. There’s something very nefarious going on with all that. It’s definitely a gay conversation therapy type of thing.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 19, 2019 6:59 PM |
He wants to dump on Iran, but what about his good pals Russia and Saudi Arabia -- not to mention his own VP and evangelical supporters in America?
Once again, he hasn't thought things through.

I'm just amazed there are people on this board who are gullible enough to believe that Donald Trump or his administration ever does anything good for anyone else without an ulterior motive that involves either personal enrichment or done to fool certain people into thinking he's not n evil piece of shit. It's crystal clear that he and his band of demons think this is going to woo gay voters over to his side in the next election.
Some people are just too stupid to be allowed out on their own.

by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 19, 2019 7:02 PM |
I think the trans push is backlash against gay marriage, or a backlash against gay rights in general (and part of the continuing backlash against women's rights/genuine feminism).
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 19, 2019 7:03 PM |
It is not funded by religion. (Well, in Iran it is). It is funded by some billionaire trans, "liberal" foundations, Pharma, and governments
by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 19, 2019 7:04 PM |
It is a push, but only in America, R33.

by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 19, 2019 7:07 PM |
No, not just in the US, R33. In Canada (a huge push), the UK, Ireland, Australia, and also worldwide. I noticed EU funding it and read about it in "third world " countries as well - sad in countries where gay rights were just being recognized. It is truly a political attack on gay rights.

[quote] It is truly a political attack on gay rights.
Yes it is. Most definitely. There’s something to it. I agree now.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 19, 2019 7:11 PM |
R37, Well, it is supported in Muslim countries. They evangelicals could support it eventually as it does wipe out gay, but at the moment it is coming from a corrupt left accepting Pharma dollars. Maybe there is a secret globalism plot to destroy gay/women's rights - we don't know at this point.. The high level govt support is suspicious.
In a Canadian province, the left/liberals pushed T so much that the conservatives voted for a bill pushing the T conversion stuff on kids as well.

by Anonymous | reply 46 | February 19, 2019 7:14 PM |
No, no R44. You never heard about transgender things back then. Now it’s everywhere (only after gay marr was legalized in the US). Queer was slur (besides Queer Eye).

This is just so he can shame Germany, France etc. for not signing on to this transparent attempt to ratchet up tensions with Iran.
In 2017, the US voted against a UN resolution condemning the execution of gay people. But now John Bolton is in charge of foreign policy, and what he wants more than anything is a war against Iran.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 19, 2019 7:20 PM |
Clever gays are not going to be pink tokens for Trump to wage war on brown countries while turning a blind eye to regimes like Russia. If it gets the job done, fine. But don't pretend this president cares anything about gays.
He should start with America, where it is criminal to be gay in employment and housing in many states. The circuit court appointments made by Trump, which decide employment law are NOT gay friendly. He could encourage his bigoted Republican cohorts to pass ENDA but does nothing.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | February 19, 2019 7:22 PM |

Upthread there is some idea that this is all linked to gay marriage, which is not the case.
The problem is that many states, and the US federal government, have not enacted anti discrimination based on sexual orientation. So, going forward from a few years back it was mandated by the far left that sexual orientation by itself Is tragically discriminatory throwing the T's under the bus. It is politically impossible for Democrats to introduce, let alone pass, a gay only, non trans bill.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | February 19, 2019 8:24 PM |
Homophobe? Are you fucking kidding me? Any man who hires whores to piss on beds in front of him (and probably ON him) is perverse. Any man who diddles boys is perverse. Just because I'm gay does not mean I'm automatically supposed to approve of that type of sick activity. So go right ahead and block me. Homosexuality is not illegal anywhere in the USA, but sodomy is still illegal in some places. In some places only same sex sodomy is illegal. And just so we're clear on this, the legal definition of sodomy is any type of penetrative sex other than penis/vagina sex. You'd be surprised the number of people who think sodomy automatically means butt fucking.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | February 19, 2019 9:42 PM |
When it comes to the Trans issue that some many on here are discussing, it is not supported by most Evangelicals, because to support it they would have to accept that a person was born in the wrong body. Therefore they would have to disregard one of their central tenets, that God makes no mistakes. Look at the Baptist Medical center controversy from the 1970's.

Trump could have announced this while buttfucking Pence, lip-syncing to Judy Garland and doing jazz hands. And, people would still attack him for being anti gay. There's a sucker born every minute, I guess.
Trump has diametrically contradicted things "his administration" has done, promised , or said several times. He may very well undo this via tweet after hearing some jackass on Fox News bitch about religious liberty. See, the transgender ban that was jump started despite Mattis initially recommending no changes and more research and findings re what medical services should be covered was needed.
There is "no plan" in place to actually do anything. Just a vague promise. Sound familiar? See, The Wall. See, the middle class 10% tax cut. See, "we're going to cover everybody and it's going to be cheaper." See, "we're pulling out of Syria." This will be walked back to nothing. Trump has ALREADY turned on the criminal justice reform bill he just signed a few weeks ago.

As if the US has the slightest ability to influence any other country to decriminalize homosexuality. Most (if not all) countries where it's still illegal will tell Donald Trump and the USA to eat shit and die. This is just more of Trump's pandering, and he's picked the wrong people to pander to. Well, except for the few nitwit homosexuals on this board who think he's actually trying to do something good for the gays.

Gays need to vote Republican. There are no other options. There is no anti-trans pro-gay party that is specifically dedicated to our well-being. It’s the GOP or nothing. If you continue to spout anti-Trump anti-GOP propaganda (not a single word of which is either true or grassroots), then you are supporting gay erasure.
Trans is gay genocide and the Left is its enabler. Iran kills gays and allows sex changes. They deserve to be destroyed for that alone. Who cares about the so-called “rights” of racist sexist antisemitic homophobic heterosexual gentile terrorist scum?

This just seems like a trick to make us think "well maybe he's not that bad". It does not mean he wouldn't reverse gay marriage. There is a big grey area between criminalizing homosexuality and treating them as 100% equals. These random "good" things he throw out there always worry me because they are just meant to soften people...and it works.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | February 19, 2019 11:23 PM |
Is this move because someone at one of his hotels talked to a group of gays about booking an event? That’s the only legitimate reason #45 does something like this.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | February 19, 2019 11:23 PM |
Pay close attention to the details, because they will change drastically. Right now it's a global plan to decriminalize homosexuality. That will likely be watered down to target a select few countries (probably just Iran and maybe a few small countries with zero international influence/support). It will also likely be watered down to maybe just ending the death penalty--but of course not ending the death penalty for any other reason, paving the way for proxy executions. Also a likely carveout will be only targeting very narrow laws--e.g. you can't penalize private consensual gay sex among legal adults, but you can make the age of consent much higher for gays, anything "public" is fair game, etc. Trump would NEVER target, for example, Russia's laws against "gay-promoting propaganda."

Trump is a lying sack of shit, that has never done or said anything that was not mostly in his benefit. The man is incapable of learning, because that would require a certain amount of introspection and work that he would not do, because he thinks he is perfect.
He has simply learned from that other prick, Netanyahu, and those neo-nazis, that gay rights can be a play thing, and a stick to beat Muslims with.
Why there is any conversation beyond that, is beyond me. Let's remember the wall, which he said Mexico would pay for, space force etc.

The Indianapolis Star: The Indiana Senate voted to amend a hate crimes proposal Tuesday, scrapping from the bill all protected characteristics, including gender identity, race and sexual orientation.
The amendment to Senate Bill 12 removed the list of specific characteristics and added that judges can consider bias more generally as an aggravating circumstance when weighing a stricter sentence for a crime.
Only seven Republicans joined the Democrats in voting against the amendment. But no Trump lickspittle spoke against the amendment on the Senate floor.

He doesn't care who has rights, who doesn't have them, he doesn't care about their lifestyle, or the color of their skin. He only cares about TRUMP. He only cares about his kids if he thinks they make him look good or bad. If he felt it was okay to have sex with Ivanka, he would and then he would be over her too. [quote]As if the US has the slightest ability to influence any other country to decriminalize homosexuality.
That's not the point. They want to try to leverage more countries to turn their backs on Iran, like the US has. More sanctions, etc. It has nothing to do with helping gay people anywhere, trust me.
They want to bring Iran down because it's the biggest regional opponent to Israel and the Saudis. I'm no fan of Iran, as a secular Western man, but let's not see the motive as anything other than it really is.

Provide verificatia of Iran executing sisters or STFU. And we mean showing the actual death taking place before and after, etc. Anything else is CIA bullshit to incite hatred among the really stupid.

So R240 if Iran bans the use of phones/cameras recording gay executions then they just didn't happen?
I guess since most of the US Civil War deaths weren't photographed at the time then those deaths didn't take place either?

Will be delightful to see him enforce the same standard with Saudi Arabia and Iran, not to mention de facto criminalization like Russia's propaganda law. I'm sure all of them will be encouraged to comply equally. 🙄

From the Washington Examiner: President Trump drew a blank Wednesday when told about his own administration’s push to legalize homosexuality across the globe. A reporter asked Trump in the Oval Office about “your push to decriminalize homosexuality around the world,” asking, “Are you doing that and why?”
Trump said, however, “I don’t know which report you’re talking about. We have many reports.” White House representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether Trump was aware of his administration’s push to repeal anti-homosexuality laws in 71 countries.

Did his gay ambassador decide this policy on his own? Ooh, I hope so....

Haha, suck it every asshole on this thread who chastised the rest of us for not giving Trump credit for something he hasn't actually done. Try enrolling in Trump University next, dumbfucks.

This is amazing and everyone here should be cheering it. Does anyone remember that Barack Obama strongly opposed gay marriage in 2008?

Yes,Trump has no clue this is supposed to be one of his policies.
That tells you how committed he is to it
by Anonymous | reply 255 | February 21, 2019 10:24 PM |
R251, Obama was never “strongly opposed” to gay marriage— but Trump and the GOP still are.
Nowhere in this decriminalize push is there ANY mention of supporting gay marriage.
