Old Playgirl models... ...and social trends.

A question for the eldergays among us: I came across a collection of Playgirl magazines at a flea market this weekend. They were ridiculously cheap, so I bought them. They are all dated in the late 70s-mid 80s and all the men in them had huge bushes. It didn’t matter if they were muscular or trim, also regardless of hair color or skin color. Was this considered sexy back then? Was it preferable to have a lot of pubic hair? Did anyone in that period ever manscape in any way? I was very surprised.

by Anonymousreply 19703/14/2019

There's trimming, there's natural and there's shaving. Personally, I like the first two, since guys look like men and not the little boys who hadn't yet reached puberty. The 70s also featured a decent amount of guys who had sported moustaches. Unfortunately the 70s also had some terrible clothes! But the pubes were great! I think they're coming back -- at some nudist bashes I 've been to, most guys trim or are natural -- just a few shaved and some have started to grow out a bit.

by Anonymousreply 102/11/2019

And then straight guys all started shaving their pubes, so the gays let theirs grow out...

by Anonymousreply 202/11/2019

For your enjoyment.

by Anonymousreply 302/11/2019

I grew up in the 70s. I can't remember anyone trimming their pubes until the 90s. It would have been a weird thing to do.

by Anonymousreply 402/11/2019

Marvelous site, Blackdogue.

by Anonymousreply 502/11/2019

Well, trimming judiciously can make the goods bigger, more prominent, or at least not hide it.

by Anonymousreply 602/11/2019

It would have been considered effeminate for a man to pay that much attention to grooming his privates.

by Anonymousreply 702/11/2019

I was a competitive swimmer back in the seventies and had to shave my pit hair and groom my privates. Was considered weird to lack a bush back then and I had to wear a swim suit when at traditionally naked places like Wreck Beach and hot springs and swimming in remote mountain lakes - otherwise I'd be considered some sort of pervert.

by Anonymousreply 802/11/2019

Around 1986 or 87 two very chatty friends of mine was so smitten with Brian Buzzini it bordered on obsession. They must've said his name aloud 5,000 times in the course of four or five months. That must be why I still remember his name.

by Anonymousreply 902/11/2019

I was shaving my scrote, taint, and any hair on my shaft by the early 80s. The leather scene gays started it or that was my first exposure to it. Playgirl back then depicted a straight (cough) sensibility so in that sense I'd say all the fuzz and fur accurately represented a het aesthetic norm. I'm sure Honcho, Blue Boy, Mandate, etc. mags from the same period have plenty of men with shaved balls.

by Anonymousreply 1002/11/2019

I loved Playgirl in the 70s and 80s. I think the magazine deliberately picked models with big bushes. It may have been considered "masculine" at the time. (Anyone remember all the straight men wearing leisure suits, shirts unbuttoned to their belly buttons, revealing thick chest hair and gold chains?) Maybe that was the model.

I am partial to big bushes and I saw lots of them in my high school locker room, my college residence hall and in my frat. I don't recall a single trimmed or shaved groin.

My frat had more of its fair share of big bushes. Were all fraternities like this? I blew seven of my frat brothers who were good-looking and had big bushes. Amazingly, none of the others found out, although who would want to admit they got a blow job from another guy?

by Anonymousreply 1102/13/2019

How did you blow 7 frat brothers!?

Did you pull a Cosby?

by Anonymousreply 1202/13/2019

It was easy to blow seven brothers over a period of four years. None objected to it. It didn't alter our friendships afterward. There were six of us who were gay (out of 75 brothers). It turns out I wasn't the only one offering a little oral action. There were many more brothers who allowed us, collectively, to do it.

by Anonymousreply 1302/13/2019

I still don’t trim my Bush. Is it really assumed now? I find shaved pubes weird.

by Anonymousreply 1402/13/2019

I also loved Playgirl in the 70s-80s. I was able to buy issues over the counter at college. I loved the men who had big bushes. I remember many of them. I also remember the men at college who also had big bushes. I couldn’t touch, but I was happy to look.

Since there is such a preference for manscaping today, I wonder if any of the models in Playgirl then were self-conscious about their bushes, while not with their cocks. Some models were completely uninhibited, legs spread wide, wide view of entire bush, cock dangling in the air. They probably jumped at the chance. Did some men wonder if “my bush is too big” when posing in Playgirl? Would you?

by Anonymousreply 1502/14/2019

I don't think guys were self-conscious about bushes. Having thick pubes was actually something to be proud of, as someone told me in sleepaway camp.

by Anonymousreply 1602/14/2019

Whatever you do, don't ever meet up with any of these old guys.

Lou Zivkovich is a gay deplorable in a bad wig.

by Anonymousreply 1702/14/2019

Playgirl at its best.

Beautiful FILM photography. Handsome,(but not obnoxiously so) 30+ model, fit , naturally built, sexy dadbody(fuck the the 8 pack) and the pubes and pits are PERFECTION.

by Anonymousreply 1802/15/2019

Hawt

by Anonymousreply 1902/15/2019

So many gorgeous, natural looking, vintage Playgirl men. I definitely came of age in the wrong era.

by Anonymousreply 2002/15/2019

you'll have to click for full pic

by Anonymousreply 2102/15/2019

They didn't always have the biggest pecs, the leanest abs, the "prettiest" face(thank GOD) or the longest dick but some of these vintage guys just blow today's porn hos fucking straight to hell.

by Anonymousreply 2202/15/2019

R3 gold!

by Anonymousreply 2302/15/2019

R17 according to a Mae West bio, he was her "frequent escort " in the 70s.

by Anonymousreply 2402/15/2019

R24, I believe he was fired from being a PE teacher in Santa Barbara after doing the Playgirl spread, and Mae raised hell. I don't remember what the outcome was.

by Anonymousreply 2502/15/2019

R22- one of my favorites. I like body hair- it's sexy. I don't understand man scaping at all. I suppose it's a generational thing.

by Anonymousreply 2602/15/2019

Playgirl was first published when I was in my teens. I hoped Tom Jones, the Smothers Brothers, Paul Anka, Leonard Nimoy, Joe Namath, Dick Gautier, David Groh, Clifton Davis (Just off the top of my head. I was horny…) would have posed and gone full frontal for Playgirl. I imagined they all had thickets of hair in their crotches. I wanted to know, for sure.

by Anonymousreply 2702/17/2019

Leonard Nimoy,? r27? You've got to be kidding! Actually I was hoping for Gene Shalit.

by Anonymousreply 2802/17/2019

I think this guy is attractive. I'd rather be with him than most of the current models, who look rather mechanical.

by Anonymousreply 2902/17/2019

Well, Johnny Mathis did pose for Playgirl, then changed his mind. The photos are in a safe somewhere. Perhaps he could be persuaded to let his public see his pubic some day?

by Anonymousreply 3002/17/2019

[quote]Tom Jones, the Smothers Brothers, Paul Anka, Leonard Nimoy, Joe Namath, Dick Gautier, David Groh, Clifton Davis.I imagined they all had thickets of hair in their crotches.

Well, I can't attest for the others but NIMOY certainly did.

by Anonymousreply 3102/17/2019

r29 That guy did TONS of straight porn as Richard Pacheco.

by Anonymousreply 3202/17/2019

Pat Dallas, one of Playgirl's original photographers, wrote a book about her adventures taking photos of naked men. While she was setting up her camera at Mathis' swimming pool, he took off his shirt, shucked his shorts and sat down on a lounge chair, full-frontal, legs wide open, waiting for her to start the shoot. He was ready for that no-holds-barred centerfold shot.

Someone talked him out of publishing the photos. Playgirl was ready to announce its most high-profile celebrity centerfold ever.

I'm really surprised he was willing to do it in the first place.

by Anonymousreply 3302/17/2019

No, Jim Brown would still be the highest profile. And dwarfing all others by far. After him the downfall started.

by Anonymousreply 3402/18/2019

Ban the razor...

by Anonymousreply 3502/18/2019

Nice. And a cock that wouldn't choke a person.

by Anonymousreply 3602/18/2019

Destroy the razor...

by Anonymousreply 3702/18/2019

This guy. I would be in heaven.

by Anonymousreply 3802/18/2019

I used to fantasize about these two Winston ad men when I would see them in magazines. I thought they had to be hairy below the zipper. I didn't have to wait long to know. Thank you, Playgirl!

by Anonymousreply 3902/18/2019

Winston man one:

by Anonymousreply 4002/18/2019

OP, the option of trimming wasn’t even there, yousimply had pubes. If you were naked then they were on view

Playgirl pictorial

In this photospread, (taken during an expense paid trip to Hawaii ), the muscular and hirsute Zivkovich displayed his 6'4" 216 lb. physique—46" chest and 35" waist—in a series of shots which consistently featured full-frontal nudity. There were no erections and no rear-view shots.

Copies of the magazine quickly became something of a collector's item and even sparked brief talk of an acting career for Zivkovich. (He played a supporting role in a McMillan and Wife episode which aired on October 26, 1975.)

However, there were unfortunate ramifications. The high school in Apple Valley, California , where Zivkovich worked as a phys-ed teacher fired him, charging that his appearance in a nude centerfold showed he was not a proper role model for students. Many of these students as well as fellow teachers then came to the defense of Zivkovich who stated: "I don't see anything wrong with a nude body that is a work of art." The case went to a state appeals panel which admonished Zivkovich for a "mistake in judgment" but ruled in March 1975 that he could not be fired.

One year later, in March 1976, Zivkovich—along with a bevy of musclemen—appeared with Mae West in a CBS TV special titled "Dick Cavett's Backlot USA." Mae West's biographer, Simon Louvish, describes Zivkovich at this point as being Mae West's "frequent escort."

by Anonymousreply 4402/18/2019

There are moments in autumn when you just have to put down the rake and pose with your nude twin brother.

by Anonymousreply 4502/18/2019

And to think that all of these guys I used to fantasize about are old as fuck now and wouldn’t be able to pay me to sleep with any of them.

by Anonymousreply 4602/18/2019

I went to college with both brothers. Surprisingly, rather asexual in person.

by Anonymousreply 4702/18/2019

But where's Playgirl now? Has the sexual revolution succumbed to the Napoleon of the internet? Would that there were any halfway legitimate forum for gorgeous athletes and men to appear in the altogether. The best we can get now is the ESPN naked issue.

by Anonymousreply 4802/18/2019

R47 party pooper

by Anonymousreply 4902/18/2019

I think there is still a market for a Playgirl-type publication. It’s unfortunate internet publishers, which are producing full-frontal work intended to generate a profit for the company, find other websites are immediately grabbing their photos and displaying them freely, making profitability for the publishers moot.

Playboy magazine recently tried to remove nudity from its pages, and found it was a financial disaster. The nudes are now back. Similarly, elders among us will remember when Playgirl decided to remove full nudity in the magazine in the late 80s. It lasted ten months; another financial miscalculation. A model named John-Paul was proud to be the first full-frontal centerfold when the nudity returned.

Are there men willing to pose fully nude in a publication today? Gay rapper Milan Christopher posed full-frontal for Paper Magazine. Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber intentionally released full-frontal nudes to generate buzz. More actors are getting completely nude in movies and cable series. Well-known pro bodybuilders are still showing everything at “muscle worship” websites. Colt Studio is going strong. I’m sure there are reality-TV stars willing to go full-frontal to extend their notoriety after the TV shows are over, along with newly retired or Olympic athletes, pop stars who challenge conformity, Instagram and Youtube stars, the many others who are willing to share nude selfies, really anyone willing to do it for money.

Generating a publication model which protects the photo layouts from theft is the biggest challenge, even if it’s only for a specified period of time. Is there anyone out there with the resources to explore it? I would LOVE to work at such a company. I’m sure there would be a line behind me, as well.

Men did not trim their bushes or do "manscaping" in the 1970s. The 1970s were all about head hair and moustaches for men. Mostly long in the early 1970s, then in the middle of the decade perms suddenly became popular on men for a short time. The Mike Brady look. My high school yearbook is filled with guys with perms who were never seen with perms again. That faded fast and it was back to regular short hair for men by the time the 80s came around. The moustaches started disappearing as well.

by Anonymousreply 5302/18/2019

David Cassidy popularized the bush.

by Anonymousreply 5402/18/2019

Hairy must have been accepted and even desired. Look at Burt Reynolds and Tom Selleck. They were shirtless sex symbols of the era and were very hairy.

by Anonymousreply 5502/18/2019

OT, was anyone else surprised when Burt Reynolds died? Something polyester about him that seemed to insure immortality.

by Anonymousreply 5602/18/2019

Hair is hot, shaved is not.

by Anonymousreply 5702/18/2019

Trimmed is worse

by Anonymousreply 5802/19/2019

[quote]Colt Studio is going strong.

Are you (triple-)posting from 1990?

by Anonymousreply 5902/19/2019

r53 It was done in the 1970's. A muscular guy older than me used to go to the same public swimming pool in the summer. When he disrobed I couldn't figure out why he had an "eyebrow" above his junk and his balls were smooth.

by Anonymousreply 6002/19/2019

Thanks r50-52. I like watching sports and to see those gorgeous athletes and only wish is really torture. Now G in Brazil has bit the dust, or rather the jungle. Maybe the new president will be so provocative the publication will reappear. Persecuting gays in Brazil is like persecuting Jews in Israel. Thanks again, you made very good points. I sure would like to see some of those points.

by Anonymousreply 6102/19/2019

Again, centerfolds from the cut rate back alleys of Prague don't sell magazines either. As I've said before, no publication was put together with less effort than Playgirl in its declining years. And it started off getting fairly respectable ads and would up with only those from Z rate porn. I may be overly optimistic, but I still think there is a place for a publication with full nudes of beautiful men, athletes in particular. They can emulate Candide and say that just women are looking at them, but everyone knows different.

by Anonymousreply 6202/19/2019

I like it a lot

by Anonymousreply 6302/19/2019

Paul Vonderlin at R37. I remember being 9 yo and seeing this cover image staring out at me in the photography section of every B.Dalton and Waldenbooks and trying to figure out how to sneak the book to a quiet place without being seen. Finally, I managed and was disappointed to realize that there were no NUDES! I wouldn't see his dick until 20 years later.

by Anonymousreply 6402/19/2019

Even though I LOVE the pubic and body hair of 70s/ 80s Playgirl models I generally don't care for the facial hair and haircuts of the era.

HOWEVER, on occasion there will be a guy who, despite the catepillar on his upper lip, is just so sexy and handsome that I wouldn't change a thing.

by Anonymousreply 6502/19/2019

R40, David White is still a fitness instructor, and still looks wonderful, grey hair and all.

by Anonymousreply 6602/19/2019

I was 8 or 9 when I was at the local market and sneaked a peak at the Antonio Contrelle issue of Playgirl. These next images have been branded on my brain forever.

by Anonymousreply 6702/19/2019

Timeless and unforgettable.

by Anonymousreply 6802/19/2019

Love the late 70s-early 80s era photos, and the untrimmed guys.

These remind me of the kind of sexy guys I saw (and occasionally hooked up with) in my small town back in the day.

by Anonymousreply 6902/19/2019

R65 very nice. He wouldn't be as attractive without it, imo.

by Anonymousreply 7002/19/2019

Times were simpler

by Anonymousreply 7102/20/2019

R64, that issue of "Hunks" was produced during the half-year Playgirl dispensed with the nudes in the 80s. Ironically, most of those men in that issue had already been published fully nude by Playgirl in the previous years. That was the kicker.

by Anonymousreply 7202/20/2019

another from the bush era

by Anonymousreply 7302/20/2019

Would I fret about this guy's bush? Nope.

by Anonymousreply 7402/20/2019

Another set of brothers, from the early days, they're Australian too.

by Anonymousreply 7502/20/2019

This was my favorite centerfold ever. I had to buy two copies that month. The first one I bought was well-worn in a couple of weeks.

by Anonymousreply 7602/20/2019

Yes, r69, I liked those guys, too. Back then, every man had ungroomed pubic hair. It was always fun to wonder how big a guy's bush was, and then to find out when you hooked up if your guess was right. I was never disappointed, but pleasantly surprised when I pulled down a guy's underwear and found a thick, lush patch of hair to comb my fingers through (and to tickle my nostrils).

It seemed guys who wore glasses (hiding a beautiful face) and majored in computer science were the ones I was most surprised by. How does nearsightedness and a STEM mind equate to a generous helping of bush? It had some consistency. It was also sexy as hell.

I am enjoying these submissions from old Playgirls. I don't know how and why people would rather have a trimmed/shaved man over the guys presented on this thread, so masculine and virile. How did the human race survive centuries without groomed bushes? How did they not prevent people from enjoying sex? Now, suddenly it's an issue?

by Anonymousreply 7702/20/2019

Like this, R77?

by Anonymousreply 7802/20/2019

The bush is beautiful. I really do hate the tan line thing though, very unappealing.

by Anonymousreply 7902/20/2019

I think the wild and bushy pubic hair was still part of the hippie and sexual empowerment / sexual revolution movement where nudity in public and in publication was considered wild and empowering (in some cases even for women), and subversive. All that hiding under conservative clothing sometimes.

by Anonymousreply 8002/20/2019

What tan line, R79?

by Anonymousreply 8102/21/2019

Looking back on those playgirl photos that so turned us on as a child we are surprised to note than 90% of them were tinymeats!

by Anonymousreply 8202/21/2019

[quote]I think the wild and bushy pubic hair was still part of the hippie and sexual empowerment / sexual revolution movement

No. It was just men being men. Being normal. We had never heard of pubic hair removal. There was simply no such thing to even think about, let alone do.

Where and when did the first shaved male pubic area appear?

by Anonymousreply 8302/21/2019

I’d be curious, it happened in my lifetime.

by Anonymousreply 8402/21/2019

Do they still publish it?

by Anonymousreply 8502/21/2019

They hand it out for free at subway stops

by Anonymousreply 8602/21/2019

Did any fish ever buy it?

by Anonymousreply 8702/21/2019

I can't see that selling nowadays, can you?

by Anonymousreply 8802/21/2019

R87, my hippy aunts in the seventies did, it’s the first time I encountered it.

by Anonymousreply 8902/21/2019

This guy was my fav.

by Anonymousreply 9002/21/2019

Ha! R78

That guy is named Paul Anthony Crewe and he is the first guy I jerked off to. Many, many times.

Still more or less my perfect physical type.

by Anonymousreply 9102/21/2019

Here's more photos of Crewe

They never let him get fully hard :(

by Anonymousreply 9202/21/2019

There were Latin-American actors in Playgirl, too.

by Anonymousreply 9302/21/2019

R92, I just got hard as a rock. Damn!

by Anonymousreply 9402/21/2019

I can't argue with r90. r88, it depends on entirely who's in it.

by Anonymousreply 9502/21/2019

Just as good as the natural, beautiful bodies and hair -- no tattoos to uglify these gorgeous men.

by Anonymousreply 9602/21/2019

R81, I meant the other guys with tan lines. Mostly the playgirl guys, not r78.

by Anonymousreply 9702/21/2019

I love the tanlines on the models. You can sometimes see a picture when they are wearing a swimsuit, before you see the nudes, and wonder what anatomical tidbits are covered up and where they are located.

Or even better, you can imagine him wearing a suit at the pool and then, unexpectedly, he decides to slip it off and go back to what he was doing. The tanlines prove it isn't an event he is accustomed to.

Either way, I'm an old man who gets his jollies any way he can.

by Anonymousreply 9802/21/2019

No clothes, no bookmark, no library card. Bill Brinkham don't need 'em.

by Anonymousreply 9902/21/2019

R98 me too, Pops. Love tan lines. They nicely highlight the goods.

by Anonymousreply 10002/21/2019

Can a man's balls be as photogenic as his face? Ask Bill.

by Anonymousreply 10102/21/2019

r98 is Roger leClair who photographed us a long time ago and made us a star (of sorts)

by Anonymousreply 10202/22/2019

Please translate, r102.

by Anonymousreply 10302/22/2019

Drop dead gorgeous Roger, pictured by Mary r98, was a photographer in LA in the 1980s and at the suggestia of a famous movie producer we had him take a series of fabulous photos of ourself which we still treasure! ( Roger was so gorgeous but we were to shy to 'make a move'.....although we did get a trace of the vapors when he would touch us gently to move us into positia)

by Anonymousreply 10402/23/2019

by Anonymousreply 10502/24/2019

Again, Playgirl could be a sensational best seller, depending on who's in it. When they published unauthorized nude photos of Brad Pitt he screamed bloody murder and demanded they withdraw all copies. Playgirl replied the that all copies were sold out (at least they said they were). Same would not be true for Vladilas Gewasik from Prague, however.

by Anonymousreply 10602/24/2019

Homosexual tinymeat Brad was justifiably embarrassed to have her 'deficiency' made public!

by Anonymousreply 10702/24/2019

But it sold mags, r107. That's the name of the game.

by Anonymousreply 10802/24/2019

My all-time favorite: Antonio Contrelle, Playgirl's July 1981 Man of the Month and Playgirl's January 1982 Man of the Year.

by Anonymousreply 11002/24/2019

I've just arrived at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, OH for the weekend. Bodybuilders and fitness dudes everywhere. This is the place to be if you're into muscle. I brought two hundred dollars with me. Maybe I'll offer it to someone in exchange for, well, a little muscle worship. The money may not last into the weekend, some gorgeous guys around already.

by Anonymousreply 11102/26/2019

Oops. R111-Wrong thread!

by Anonymousreply 11202/26/2019

Who is r74 ?

by Anonymousreply 11302/26/2019

Brian Buzzini still does it for me.....

by Anonymousreply 11402/26/2019

I would do Jonathon Prandi in a hot second.

by Anonymousreply 11502/26/2019

Can anyone post some then and now pics?

by Anonymousreply 11602/28/2019

Looking at those pictures ruined my crush on so many stars.Jim Brown,Tom Selleck,Clifton Davis.... (its all balls).... My big sis got the magazine, but i would stake-out the mail and get it before her.Open it (she blamed the mail man)then slyly put it back. That brown paper wrap and then the white sleeve the magazine arrived in were so easy to break into.I could not resist.Too bad my crushes endowments were...so....lackluster.

by Anonymousreply 11702/28/2019

Are any of the models openly gay?

by Anonymousreply 11802/28/2019

R117 a gayling size queen.

by Anonymousreply 11902/28/2019

Mark Kleckner... the pages on this one were sticky.

by Anonymousreply 12002/28/2019

I remember buying the issue with r120 included. I love a blond man with a big bush, it seems incongruent to me. I couldn't wait to get home so I could... It was a happy ending.

by Anonymousreply 12102/28/2019

[quote]Can anyone post some then and now pics?

Why in Hell would you want to see the now pics?

by Anonymousreply 12202/28/2019

[R116] and [R119]....are the same poster. Who always has had performance issues due to that 2 inch surprise in his dirty Levi jean jumper.

by Anonymousreply 12302/28/2019

Doug Koziak was perfection. I wonder what he's up to now.

by Anonymousreply 12402/28/2019

Loved Doug Koziak!

by Anonymousreply 12503/01/2019

I like the Steve Bond and Sam Jones ones. Sam Jones most of all. They were famous guys I actually lusted after and there they were naked.

by Anonymousreply 12603/01/2019

{quote}Who is [R74]

Dunno. Seen him in gay porn though.

by Anonymousreply 12703/01/2019

Interesting how Sam Jones just has a normal not heavily muscled body. How did things change so much? I like the normal guy look better than the roided up look that has taken over.

by Anonymousreply 12803/01/2019

I don't think Clifton Davis ever posed nude. I do recall seeing him shirtless in one of the "Battle of the Network Stars" things they used to do, and yes, would have loved to have seen more of him. Also, Barney Miller himself, Hal Linden looked pretty hot back then shirtless. Oh course, Robert Conrad was beyond hot, having one of the more muscled bods by then standards of action heroes.

by Anonymousreply 12903/02/2019

Clifton Davis would wear shirts unbuttoned halfway down his abs on Match Game. He would move from side to side in his chair and I hoped to see a sliver (or more) of nipple in the opening of his shirt. I would watch with a full teenage erection in my jeans, just waiting for the chance to explode.

God, I miss the 70s.

by Anonymousreply 13003/03/2019

Has anyone seen the full frontal of Lorenzo Lamas which was alleged to appear in Playgirl? It wasn't in a centerfold or discovery spread, rather a "Men of ..." themed layout they occasionally had.

by Anonymousreply 13103/03/2019

This guy should have been a MOTY . The decision to start making shaved, Vegas stripper types the focus instead of guys like this is when Playgirl signed it's own death warrant.

by Anonymousreply 13203/05/2019

Eraserface

by Anonymousreply 13303/05/2019

[quote]Who is [R74] ?

Alex Bento.

Great pubic hair.

by Anonymousreply 13403/05/2019

Alex Bento also did gay smut under the nom de guerre, Eric Rio.

by Anonymousreply 13503/05/2019

DL comes through again!

by Anonymousreply 13603/05/2019

[quote]Alex Bento also did gay smut under the nom de guerre, Eric Rio.

It was fairly common to see guys featured in Playgirl turn up in gay porn movies and mags. We should make a list.

by Anonymousreply 13703/06/2019

Thats because a lot of them WERE GAY.....its common knowledge.

by Anonymousreply 13803/06/2019

^^^Zinneman

by Anonymousreply 13903/06/2019

[quote]Sam Jones just has a normal not heavily muscled body. How did things change so much?

People started going to the gym a few years AFTER that issue.

by Anonymousreply 14003/07/2019

R137 appeared in gay porn as Tom Farrell. He died when he was hit by a car while standing by the side of the road taking a piss.

by Anonymousreply 14103/07/2019

Anybody know what name this PG centerfold did gay porn under?

by Anonymousreply 14203/07/2019

I’m still remembering one particularly good-looking centerfold from... 1993? 94? white guy with intellectual-looking glasses who posed on exercise equipment with his very thick dong resting on the weight bench. i’m OCD enough to have looked at every model on blackdogue, be he ain’t there.

come thru, Datalounge!

by Anonymousreply 14303/07/2019

[quote]You don't have permission to access /Playgirl/JeffThompson/JeffThompson06.jpg on this server.

I'm guessing, r142, it was not Jeff Thompson.

by Anonymousreply 14403/07/2019

R142 Michael White aka Jeff Thompson (in Smutjunkies)

by Anonymousreply 14503/07/2019

Thx 145

by Anonymousreply 14603/07/2019

R143.

Man for March '95 Michael George seems to fit your description except the glasses part.

by Anonymousreply 14703/07/2019

Stll no glasses but who's looking at his face?

by Anonymousreply 14803/07/2019

What flea market OP? I'm always looking for a good one. I'm in new york state.

by Anonymousreply 14903/07/2019

R147 oh my. My my. Indeed. Yes indeed...

But that device he sitting on looks scarily like a meat grinder...

by Anonymousreply 15003/07/2019

R131 like father, like son?

by Anonymousreply 15103/07/2019

[quote] How did you blow 7 frat brothers!?

I did more than 7 in one evening!

by Anonymousreply 15203/07/2019

Bravo, r132,. I'm glad somebody does agree with me about Playgirl's death warrant. I was at a gay strip bar in DC in the '90s and there were a couple of women there. I asked them what they were doing there and they said they were Playgirl scouts. How pathetic! I asked them why they never had athletes and I can't remember their feeble reply. I would agree with r132 except that the back alleys of Prague are even far worse than Las Vegas strippers.

by Anonymousreply 15303/07/2019

In 1995, R147 and R148 was a rebel for not tending to his bush. I guess Playgirl decided he was too good looking to fret about his pubes. Boy, am I glad they didn't! Swoon...

by Anonymousreply 15403/07/2019

Isn't r21 the one who is a DL'er's father? Gary Anderson?

by Anonymousreply 15503/07/2019

please don't shave it off

by Anonymousreply 15603/07/2019

[quote]Isn't [R21] the one who is a DL'er's father? Gary Anderson?

We've heard the rumors for years. For once and for all----are Greg Anderson and Colt's Kyle Jessup the same guy?

by Anonymousreply 15703/07/2019
by Anonymousreply 15803/07/2019

R158.

Bleah. Everything that went wrong with Playgirl.

Here's the kind of man I wanna see.

by Anonymousreply 15903/07/2019

This is Playgirl's old winning formula.

Rakishly handsome. Not pretty. Natural builds and body hair. Normal dicks. Guy next door looks. Or at least the guy you WISHED lived next door.

by Anonymousreply 16003/07/2019

The guy who'd fuck if he was married to your best friend!

by Anonymousreply 16103/07/2019

Yes, models like R158 killed off Playgirl. Again, who's ready for a reboot?

by Anonymousreply 16203/07/2019

Poor R158. He's a perfectly fine looking guy but he's not Playgirl material. At least not the OLD Playgirl. Add to it the bizarre pubes, totally smooth body and unflattering haircut and I have to pass.

by Anonymousreply 16303/07/2019

And the guy at R158 isn't even the worst of it. Below is the nadir of Playgirl.

Ugly photography, ugly tattoos, ugly haircut, totally nondescript, unremarkable face and body and AGAIN with the fucked up pubic hair. And to think what Playgirl guys USED to look like.

by Anonymousreply 16403/07/2019

Just to remind people of the time when Playgirl men looked like GQ print models.

by Anonymousreply 16503/07/2019

Italian-Americans seemed more likely to pose for Playgirl.

by Anonymousreply 16603/07/2019

[quote]Italian-Americans seemed more likely to pose for Playgirl.

Meravigliosa

by Anonymousreply 16703/08/2019

R166. we are all very grateful

by Anonymousreply 16803/08/2019

I can deal with the mullet (or soccer cut, as we used to call it) because that bush is so luxuriant. I'd bury myself in it.

by Anonymousreply 16903/08/2019

I hear Hall & Oats

by Anonymousreply 17003/09/2019

[quote]that bush is so luxuriant. I'd bury myself in it.

Which is precisely why I love the vintage stuff.

by Anonymousreply 17103/10/2019

James in r163 is better looking than most of these "old" Playgirl guys. And he's got a delicious-looking dong. I wonder what ever happened to him.

by Anonymousreply 17203/10/2019

I want to hear more about all those frat brothers you blew. Start a new thread and let’s hear some hard stories

by Anonymousreply 17303/10/2019

I’ll bet most of the guys posting Playgirl photos on this thread, and others positively commenting on them, are all over 50 years old, like me. Back in high school and college, I was jealous of the guys who had big bushes, and I saw a lot of them in the locker rooms and residence halls. I don’t know if they were proud or embarrassed or oblivious to have such noteworthy pubic hair. I have the impression young men today are embarrassed by having a big bush (peer pressure), hence the need to trim or shave it all away. (To think we had sex for thousands of years and few complained about pubic hair…) I think some attention seekers or exhibitionists or very proud men intentionally show off their big bushes, in the shower, at a nude beach, at a fraternity party, for the shock factor.

Do you like to show off your overgrowth of pubic hair? Are you jealous of guys who have it? Have you known guys who didn’t think twice about revealing their noticeably big bushes when they got naked? What are your thoughts?

by Anonymousreply 17403/11/2019

R174, a lot of those high school guys wore merkins. I did.

by Anonymousreply 17503/11/2019

I love a full bush

by Anonymousreply 17603/11/2019

An Italian guy in my frat had a thicket of dark brown hair down there, and he knew it. He would shower and then blow it dry. Then he wrapped a towel around his hips and tucked it at the base of his cock, so the thicket was spread out and fluffed above it. Then he'd walk around the house that way, like a strutting peacock, diffusing pheromones. It was taboo to be gay in frats back then, so I tried to act as nonchalant as I could, although it was difficult to keep my eyes above his chest. He knew what he was doing. I still remember the image. It still makes me hard.

by Anonymousreply 17703/11/2019

Was his name Rich, r177?

by Anonymousreply 17803/11/2019

R177, way to go! Now you take that hardness and make good use of it.

by Anonymousreply 17903/11/2019

Speaking of erections---one of Playgirl's finest.

by Anonymousreply 18003/12/2019

I’m late 20’s, rock a full bush, and always get complimented on it by my tricks/fuck buddys. Thankfully a full bush is coming back.

by Anonymousreply 18103/12/2019

No, R178, his name was Gus. It was short for an Italian name.

Do you know a Rich who fits the "profile" I described? Give us details.

by Anonymousreply 18203/12/2019

Great, r181!

Do you ever show it in front of people, in the locker room, modeling, nude beach?

by Anonymousreply 18303/12/2019

A full bush will bring all the boys to the yard. I stopped trimming/shaving in the mid/late 90's, and have gotten nothing but compliments. I'm white, but my pubes are extremely curly/kinky. Could be the Jew side of me. Love black bushes as well as Italian.

by Anonymousreply 18403/12/2019

R183 Yes to locker room and nude beach. You’d be surprised how many dudes grab it and run their fingers through it while giving me head. I also don’t shave my crack and also get compliments on that. Natural is hot. *buddies, not “buddys” in my post

by Anonymousreply 18503/12/2019

If you were offered a centerfold spread in Playgirl, r185, would you do it? Would you be proud to show that bush off? Do your friends give you a hard time about not trimming? You seem to be in the minority for your age group.

by Anonymousreply 18603/12/2019

I give my friends a hard time, if you know what I mean.

by Anonymousreply 18703/13/2019

R181, do you provide complimentary toothpicks to your johns to pic your pubes out?

by Anonymousreply 18803/13/2019

Not a fan of this kind of facial hair but this Playgirl model's auburn pubic hair and little tufts on the shoulders are so sexy to me.

by Anonymousreply 18903/13/2019

Damn, R189, that is a moustache of a certain age. What was once called a porn-stache...

He's a really good looking man.

by Anonymousreply 19003/13/2019

R189, I'm a big fan of the whole package

by Anonymousreply 19103/13/2019

Playgirl was seeking models for a "Men of the Pac 10 Conference" when that guy, R189, was selected from his university. Playgirl visited my campus when they were shopping for models for a "Men of the Big 8" layout. A fraternity brother at a recent reunion confessed he "auditioned" fully nude for that spread. We weren't surprised. He walked around the house naked for most of the mornings. Good looking, nice chest, massive pubes, big head on his cock. Looking back, I wonder what Playgirl didn't see. The guys who were selected from our school were not nearly as worthy.

by Anonymousreply 19203/13/2019

I hope you consoled him majorly.

by Anonymousreply 19303/13/2019

R190

Even though that actual trend was over a generation ago in the adult industry, I believe the term pornstache is still quite common today.

by Anonymousreply 19403/13/2019

Bush is back for sure.

Look at porn-- so many of the newer Sean Cody/Corbin Fisher type models are sporting full (or fuller) pubes compared to the totally bare look a few years back.

by Anonymousreply 19503/13/2019

R189 is what I imagine cops look like naked.

Or what I want cops to look like naked.

by Anonymousreply 19603/13/2019

same here
