Rand Paul Suing His Neighbor To Pay His Medical Fees
A neighbor of Rand Paul's, Rene Boucher, was charged with assault in the incident. Boucher said he became angry because Paul repeatedly placed debris near his property. He tackled Paul after the senator blew leaves onto Boucher's property.
Surgeons will treat an Hernia injury Rand Paul sustained when he was attacked at his home in late 2017
Despite Rand having his medical coverage covered by the Senate Health plan, Rand Paul wants his neighbor to pay out of his own pocket. Paul is suing Boucher for $4,000 in medical costs but the final amount he seeks could be updated and "will certainly include the hernia surgery," the senator said in court documents, according to the Courier-Journal.
His hernia procedure is likely to cost between $5,000 and $8,000, the Courier-Journal reported, citing court documents.
Despite having health coverage, Rand Paul wants his neighbor to pay for this as a matter of principle.

Aren't these Libertarian idiots preaching the gospel of self reliance? Why is he expecting someone else to pay his medical bills? Welfare queen!

The most interesting part of this story for me is that Paul is having his surgery performed in Canada, the land of evil socialist health care.

It's just a shame the neighbor didn't kill him.

[quote]Neighbor who tackled Sen. Rand Paul asks for new civil trial, claims $580,000 award is excessive
[quote]Rene Boucher's lawyer argues in a 31-page motion for a new trial that the $200,000 awarded to Paul for pain and suffering is severe, considering that the Kentucky lawmaker did not seek medical attention and did not need prescription drugs.
[quote]Matt Baker also noted in the motion obtained by the Daily News that Paul only missed four days of work, and was able to return to a normal lifestyle within a few months after suffering multiple broken ribs.
[quote]“(Paul’s) last visit with a doctor was 30 days following the occurrence in issue,” Baker said in the motion filed last week. “His medical reports indicate consistently that, at best, his pain was ‘mild’ and/or ‘very mild.’"

I thought Ru Paul has HIV. Wouldn’t his medical bills be higher than 5k?

Paul also suffered multiple broken ribs besides the hernia?
That neighbor did well.

The neighbor is at least upper middle class. It was probably worth every penny to nail Rand Paul. Now he just needs to find a candidate to beat him the next time he runs for Senate.

Shouldn't Rand Paul, a proponent of Ayn Rand libertarianism, pull himself up by his bootstraps and pay his own way?
