They have no relevance. They give John Lennon and Paul MacCartney SOLO spots they do not deserve. They block Linda Ronstadt for over 15 years. It's a spiteful boy's club. And I may as well say it- Connie Francis should be in the R&R Hall of Fame.

Roxy Music was finally given their first chance, and they got it, despite Jann Wenner.

On the female artist side, it's time the Shangri-las be given at least one shot.

They had a huge number one hit, and they laid the groundwork for later artists they influenced, who are in, such as Blondie and Patti Smith.

Jann Wenner allegedly doesn't like them, though, because he considered them a novelty act.

She is so worthy of this honor. Her fame has only grown in the last 10 years- she’s more popular than ever. And her catalogue is fantastic. Edge of 17 alone makes her worthy of the induction.

"She is so worthy of this honor.'

No, she's not. There are a lot of artists who have yet to be inducted who are more deserving than her But she's a favorite of Rolling Stone magazine so they inducted her again. And by the way "Edge of Seventeen" is a piece of shit: "Jus like the white winged dove sings a song sounds like she's singin' ooh ooh say ooh." Typical incomprehensible Stevie Nicks slop.

I'd willingly blow coke up her ass with a straw!

by Anonymousreply 33December 14, 2018 1:20 AM

R32- she could buy and sell you. Don’t be so bitter. I bet Destiny’s Child never sampled the “also ran” you feel is snubbed by the RRHOF. Suck it.

by Anonymousreply 34December 14, 2018 1:25 AM

Glad for Stevie, but Tina Turner is the Queen of Rock and Roll. She should be in there as a solo artist. Stevie herself is a fan and has said Turner has been an inspiration to her.

As Linda Ronstadt once said, every female who has ever sang a note of rock and roll owes a debt of gratitude to Tina Turner.

by Anonymousreply 35December 14, 2018 1:32 AM

"She could buy and sell you. Don’t be so bitter. I bet Destiny’s Child never sampled the “also ran” you feel is snubbed by the RRHOF. Suck it."

Maybe you would make more sense if you took your tongue out of Stevie's coke encrusted asshole. Or maybe not. Anyway, you're just another one of her loony fans. Now go suck Stevie's withered clam. You know you want to!

by Anonymousreply 36December 14, 2018 1:32 AM

She's terrific, good for her.

by Anonymousreply 37December 14, 2018 1:33 AM

R29 2001 the last time she could still sing. Love her but I wouldn't pay a dime to see her or Fleetwood Mac again.

by Anonymousreply 38December 14, 2018 2:01 AM

I am sooooo happy for her. She is my favorite female artist ever!! She deserves this more so then any other female artist. Tina Turner Has written a few songs but nothing compared to Stevie Nicks. Stevie has written some of the best songs in my lifetime and I believe this has been a long time coming. Suck it Lindsey.......

Stevie is the Queen of Rock!

R34 mentioned Destiny's Child. They sampled Stevie's guitar riff from 'The Edge of Seventeen'. She even had a cameo in their video. That is an influence that transcends genre.

I'm sure she agrees wholeheartedly with you. She is truly in love with herself. In a Rolling Stone article it talked about her love life, which is not what it used to be (she's no spring chicken anymore). She was dating a younger man (20 years her junior), an unknown, a lowly waiter. The poor fellow "came home and said, ‘I got two tickets for Bill Maher, will you go with me?’ and I’m like, ‘Are you insane?! No. I’m not going. I’m famous! I’m Stevie Nicks! Everybody’s gonna spend the whole time taking pictures of us. And I can’t keep on making excuses about why you can’t go anywhere I can go. Like, can I take you to the Grammys? No. Can I go to the market with you? No. Can we go to a movie together in downtown Santa Monica? No. All we can do is stay in.'” She was ASHAMED of him because, obviously she thought he wasn't good enough for a Rock Star Goddess like herself. I don't think even Madonna is THAT stuck up. At least she's willing to be seen in public with her younger boyfriends.

“Icon”, “inspiration”, “empoerment” blah blah blah. Stevie is a relic from the “sex, drugs and rock and roll era.” That is all long over, as is Stevie’s voice and songwriting ability. Stevie is a talented if Machiavellian figure who has lived off who she once was for too long. And I say this as someone who was once a devout fan.

All of Stevie's solo studio albums have hit the Top Ten Album Chart except 'Rock A Little' (which hit #12 and went Platinum) and 'Street Angel' (which still went Gold).

Stevie's three most recent albums have all made the Top Ten Album chart:

Trouble In Shangri-La (2001)

In Your Dreams (2011)

24 Karat Gold: Songs From The Vault (2014)

Still a healthy career after over 30 years as a solo artist.

R65 she's only sold $11 million albums in the US as a solo artist, Madonna, who got in her first year eligible in 2008, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, both who SHOULD be in their, all have SINGLE albums that outsold Nick's ENTIRE solo career in the US

by Anonymousreply 73December 15, 2018 7:31 AM

WHAAT? I could've sworn that Madonna was the first female to be inducted twice--as a solo artist and a member of the Breakfast Club.

by Anonymousreply 74December 15, 2018 9:38 AM

Neither does Celine Dion.

r46 Yikes. How much work has Sheryl Crow had?

by Anonymousreply 76December 15, 2018 2:44 PM

[R52] Typical Stevie - clueless about how shallow and self-absorbed she sounds but at the same time disarmingly honest. I was also struck by that quote when I read it. I'd tell her to go fuck herself. She's really awful in that image-obsessed rock star way - always concerned with how she's being perceived and so not able to be spontaneous and just enjoy herself. Miserable woman. To my knowledge she never had a serious relationship after Lindsey - and her coked-out misadventures with Joe Walsh don't count. Stevie fell in love with money, coke, fame, etc. and real human connections became impossible with real men. She's fantasy-driven and stunningly immature.

When Stevie had a photo exhibit in NYC a few years back what do you think the subject matter was? Flowers? Beetles? Trees? Astronomy? Landscapes? Street scenes? Wrong! It was all self-portraiture done while Stevie was holed up in various luxury bathrooms doing lines. Very well-rounded woman.
