It' was already "solved" before: It was Melody Anderson, who played a detective on Jake and The Fatman. Her looks, age, bio and time line (she left CBS in the year in question) all fit like a glove. And she is living a private life now so wants to remain anonymous.

The show sucks. They are playing old episodes on Laff . The intro song is whiny and annoying, no wonder it was canceled.

I never liked her on TV (or in the movies), but she was beautiful as a model in the 70s.

It is called the best sitcom of the 90s in the description of the DVD box on amazon here in Germany, I think there is some truth to it. It was also the first show of Chuck Lorre and the second of openly gay Alan Ball, so it helps understand their shows better. r17 I guess that Designing Women woman had nothing to do with that show.

Watched the documentary of the making of the Orson Welles film The Other Side of the Wind called They'll Me When I'm Dead and Orson Welles clearly didn't think much of Cybil.
