The film didn’t have him in the script and he was gonna be one of the dead characters (many of the first class characters are dead in DOFP) until Till reached out to Singer and begged him to let him be in the movie, no matter how small the role. Supposedly Singer met with him then late in filming it was announced Till would be reprising his role as Alex Summers (although only in one scene where we see him escape with two other mutants then we never see them again). Of course, in Apocalypse he was given much more to do and then killed off.

What do you think was said in that meeting that convinced Singer to keep Till on board?
