She seems like a sweet person, but was surprised to see she was only 39. Thought she was well into her 40s.

And we have yet another celebratory thread of someone who was reported to have voted for Trump/far right wingers.
I'll never understand the self hated in this community.
If a bigot is nice enough then they can get away with pretty much anything?
Lesson learned.

by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 30, 2018 9:03 PM |
R7 Sadly, probably true unless she makes a major changes in her way of eating and starting exercising.
She's apparently already had some major heath issues where she was hospitalized for months.
R9 Where was it reported she voted for Trump? She lives in an area that is largely pro-Trump, but she doesn't seem as mean-spirited as most of his supporters are.

I subscribe to this woman's cooking channel. A lot of her recipes are from my childhood & a lot are homemade versions of restaurant or take out dishes. She is delightful & her food is delicious but only in moderation. It's not healthy fare. In The Kitchen With Gina Young

R10 / R43 West Virginia is the place most mentioned for her residence (unless she has since moved).
R28 Trump just "entertained" K. West in front of the media recently.
K.West is a known closeted gay black man in the NYC/South Florida circles Trump hangs out in but does that mean Trump is nice to us policy wise?
I don't think so.
Many right wing bigots say they have "gay friends" while voting to deny us equal rights. The Bush family comes to mind as the most well known example. Most of them stood by & said nothing when W advocated a Constitutional amendment against same sex marriages. Later on, daddy Bush went to a "lesbian friend's wedding" & Laura said she was fine with it AFTER her hubby couldn't run for the Oval Office again. Sara could be just like them in her views/actions about us.

Cooking is Sara's forte. I like that she obviously buys good quality cookware. Sara is far more accomplished in cookery that most people. She knows her ingredients, and how to use them properly, and what to do if she doesn't have a particular ingredient. The girl knows her stuff and obviously has a very large bank for recipes she's experienced with.

Everyone's having a breakdown because of the artificial dyes and sugar in Sara's candy corn cupcakes.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | October 30, 2018 11:15 PM |
Poor R49. In his mind, if someone is docile it prevents them from being anti-gay or a Trump supporter. It's like some kind of force field. With literally billions of votes cast in human history, no docile person around the world has ever voted to or advocated to suppress LGBT people. What a magical combination!
What a naive view of humanity to put out there.
Sorry I just can't buy it.

The mailing address on her Youtube channel is a post-office box in Louisa, KY. That's a 5-minute drive from Wayne County, WV which she mentioned as her home in an older video. Due to my work, I often see medical statistics from that area and it is just dire.
Both states are already in a mess with diabetes and heart disease, but the two counties in question re: Sara rank at the bottom of their states — obesity rates much higher than the state average, lower rates of physical activity, higher rates of tooth loss, etc. The only things they do better in are binge drinking and smoking.
If anyone remembers the American version of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, that's Sara's nearest "big city."

Sara’s YouTube channel is great fun for anybody who likes cooking or watching cooking shows. You don’t have to like or revere the stuff she cooks, but she’s well-meaning and pretty good at narrating a recipe. Her videos are completely apolitical. Stop injecting trump shit where it doesn’t belong.

I certainly wouldn't want this poor woman being attacked or bullied, but taking it to the other extreme is insane, too. She is morbidly obese and her health issues become our problem, too, due to the medical costs. Pretending people like her are just "happy" and we should leave them alone is a simpleton's answer. She is grotesquely obese and someone needs to help her. This is not normal. Her labored breathing and physical appearance is painful to witness.

by Anonymous | reply 94 | November 1, 2018 9:27 AM |
I think Simply Sara is fun to watch, I personally probably wouldn't never make any of her receipts but at least she is putting her self out there and doing something.
I know that people were so rude in the comments on Youtube that she had to disable them at one point and also they were so nasty about her appearance that she had the camera stop showing her and instead it was always pointed at what she was doing with just her hands in the shot.
It's sad that people would be that cruel.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | November 1, 2018 9:54 AM |
Her vids get plenty of views - she has her fans. They must be monetized for the ads which play at the beginning of each vid, so she's banking a little coin as well. I'm impressed with all her kitchen gadgetry - she has a lot of stuff. I like the fact that she's doing her thing and doesn't care who might have a problem with her or her thing. On one video, she got into an argument with a person for the obvious reasons, and held her own. I would never make her recipes or eat them. Responsible cooking involves making things which taste good but are also healthy or at least not dangerous - she eats like this day after day. Not good. I watched her mac n cheese video and thought "so, she likes a little bit of pasta with her cheese." Again, WAY, WAY, WAY too much animal fat and sugar being consumed as a matter of course.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | November 1, 2018 10:34 AM |
She does have some really nice bowls and measuring spoons and such, but she needs to put it away when she's done! I thought there was going to be an avalanche of dishes behind her whenever they cut to a side angle and you could see the countertop behind her.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | November 1, 2018 10:47 AM |
Here's her husband in action, baking biscotti. Also seems quite the nice person.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | November 1, 2018 10:47 AM |
One of the things I like about Simply Sara is that there isn't anything about news or politics in her videos at all, at least not that I've seen. You can't say that about a lot of these cooking or housewife or organizing or decluttering videos. One I tried was called She's in Her Apron, and it pretended to be neutral and apolitical, but in the background you were seeing a lot of all right DVDs and books and videos, and it started to feel like a fundie instructional series for women.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | November 1, 2018 10:52 AM |
R35 People are fat people because they want to be fat. Sara should visit Dr. Now in Houston to get rid of the blubber.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | November 1, 2018 10:52 AM |
These are all reward dishes - food you eat when you splurge and eat whatever you like, maybe over one weekend. I'm fascinated by their food choices on a daily basis. I'm further fascinated by what must be their astronomical monthly grocery bill - they're spending some serious money on food. Anyone know their ages? They seem to be young.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | November 1, 2018 10:57 AM |
The cat was on the counter, not in the food or even on a surface where food touched. The cat didn't eat any of the food. Some people simply aren't so persnickety over their pets and realize that if a cat hair ends up in their food they're not going to die. Would I let a cat jump on my kitchen counters when I was cooking? No. But people with cats who wouldn't allow them on the counters when they were cooking have no idea what's going on at night when they're asleep and none of them wake up every morning and go wash off all the counter surfaces in their kitchens. Most people are only concerned with what they see. If they don't see it happening they're perfectly content to assume nothing bad happened. Outta sight, outta mind.
Sara and her hubby obviously are more rational than most about the cat being on the counter.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | November 1, 2018 11:11 AM |
What Sara needs most is is a huge pantry for all her culinary supplies. But I guess if she cooks like that every day, or even every week it's easier to just leave all the things she uses out for easy access.
by Anonymous | reply 103 | November 1, 2018 11:13 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 110 | November 1, 2018 12:33 PM |
When I still had cats that could get up on the counters, I learned the hard way that they won't stop getting up there no matter what you do. My solution was to put a basket on the far corner of the counter, so my cats could sit there and watch or nap while staying out of the way. It worked really well and we rarely had an issue with cat hair in the food.
That said, I would put my cat in another room while taping a cooking segment, even if it was just for YouTube.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | November 1, 2018 12:37 PM |

You can see more of the house in this one. They're already using every available space for storage.
There was a short period when she veered off into things that were popular with mug-cradlers — golden milk with homemade turmeric paste; cauliflower pizza crust; coconut flour waffles; egg roll in a bowl; cookies made with oat flour and bananas instead of wheat flour and sugar — but they got very few comments.

Apparently people used to make a pantload of money off of the youtube metrics, but then the company radically cut back on the earnings, throwing some people into a bit of a mini-crisis. For instance Maria of "gentlewhispering" used to support herself comfortably with the income, because her videos attract millions of hits, but now she can't, so she does brand advertising during the ASMR clips she makes to help make the difference.
On the one hand, I would not base my income on something as ephemeral as what Google tells me it will pay me -- I mean REALLY -- but on the other hand I do feel badly for the people who had an expectation that the earnings would, if anything, get even better, only to have Google completely stab them in the back like that, after some of these content providers helped YouTube become the cultural phenomenon it is.

She does use Splenda whenever it's possible. Some things simply won't work with Spenda, but at least she reduces her sugar intake when at all possible.
Her speech seems to be affected by her other health issues. Frankly, her weight problem does not appear to be all from overeating. She's come near death at least once. There are some drug therapies that cause a person to balloon up.
Frankly, she looks very much like Jerry Lewis when he got huge from the drug treatments he was receiving. It took a while but eventually his bloat decreased dramatically.

I beg to differ. I knew a woman intimately years ago who would be considered morbidly obese. Her whole family was obese. I spent quite a bit of time with her, and from what I saw, she didn't eat any more than any other person. Obesity can be genetic, too.

by Anonymous | reply 153 | November 2, 2018 10:11 PM |
Okay. To be fair, we must assume that Sara is in fact eating her own cooking - and plenty of it. That's okay. Even if she didn't eat much of what she cooks, she would still suffer weight gain because everything she cooks is not just fattening, but EXTREMELY fattening. Upthread is a posted video of her husband cooking biscotti, and he too is overweight. She's consuming a hell of a lot of calories on a daily basis. I saw in the comments section of one of her videos that she had a bit of back and forth with a person who commented about her weight. She made it clear that she felt sorry for skinny people for being skinny. To coin her own phrase "There you have it!"
by Anonymous | reply 154 | November 2, 2018 10:32 PM |
And if she's morbidly obese because of overeating she has every right to eat like a pig if she wants to. Maybe she's a food addict? Who knows. But if she is maybe she's made the decision that she doesn't want to go through life hungry all the time and having to eat food she doesn't like. It's her life. Let her live it the way she wants to. If you don't like her then don't watch her videos. But don't act like you're better than her because you're not fat. Because you're not.

We assume they eat like this every day when in fact it's entirely possible the only time all this food comes out is when she films an episode for her YouTube channel. She has over 100k subscribers so she may be making some money with that channel. If that's the situation then all that food, all those spices, all the nice cookware, is all a business expense. Frankly, I think if they ate like this every day they'd both already be dead from clogged arteries. And I don't even want to think about the horrendous constipation problem.

I don't believe they have any children. You have to have children to be on welfare R165. And you can't dodge YouTube income. I'm sure YouTube sends a 1099 to the channel owner and to the IRS that reports all payments made. If they tried to dodge it the IRS would have come for them long ago.

The obsession some of you have with her weight is more than a bit odd.
by Anonymous | reply 168 | November 3, 2018 10:15 AM |
I agree that her weight doesn't seem entirely from overeating -- her face and neck are not proportionate to her body.
One of the main problems with obesity is that, if there is another health condition in the mix, it can prevent someone from losing weight even if they try. If she has reduced lung capacity or chronic upper respiratory issues, she'd need significant care from a specialist to lose weight, and she probably doesn't have the insurance to cover it all.
I'm a great big fat person who lost 70 lbs, but then gained it all back in a hot second after being injured in two accidents a couple years ago. It took surgery and months of physical therapy, much of which I did after watching YouTube videos because I couldn't afford to keep going to actual sessions, before I could start losing that weight again. After a year, I've only lost 30 lbs of that 70 I regained. I can't even imagine how impossible that would have been if I'd had something more serious like Sara apparently did.

by Anonymous | reply 171 | November 3, 2018 10:31 AM |
I've posted several comments about her weight upthread, but I meant no harm or disrespect to her with those comments. In the final analysis, I deduce that a) Sara has always been overweight genetically b) Her diet is extremely fattening/calorie laden and c)She does, in fact, eat like this every day. It's her business. I only commented in relation to her health, and I certainly wouldn't ridicule her for being obese. At the ending of one of her videos, she sweetly tells her viewing audience "I'll probably be in the kitchen!" She lives in that kitchen because she's doing what she loves to do. She's a Domestic Goddess - a lesser Martha Stewart if you will. Some people work on cars and others are into crafting or working with wood. Sara's thing is cooking and other home related activity. Let's all just appreciate her seemingly sweet good nature, as well as her entertainment value - I agree that her videos are somewhat "addictive." Good day to all.

I went to school with a kid back in the 60's who got a kidney transplant. After she came back to school she started to balloon like mad. Her face looked very similar to Sara's, like it was about to pop. One of my teachers finally told me one day that she was one some sort of drug that cause that to happen and that it was temporary. It took a long time (more than a year or so) but the swelling in her body eventually went away. I have to wonder if Sara isn't on some sort of similar drug. Her weight issues do not look food related. She may like to eat, but her neck wouldn't swell like that. I'm betting she has some sort of kidney problems.
If that's the case she really should share it with her viewers who are concerned for her and think she's just a glutton.

Flour Buttercream Recipe
This buttercream is light, fluffy, and delicious. It is made by first cooking a simple pudding made with milk, sugar and flour. Once this pudding base has cooled to room temperature, you add it to beaten butter by the spoonful. The result? A smooth, light buttercream with a pale ivory color.
Although this buttercream is hardly any more difficult to make than Classic American Buttercream, it's less sweet and more subtle in flavor.
Why this recipe works:
By whisking the flour into the sugar before adding the milk, you minimize the risk of getting flour lumps in the pudding base. By dissolving the sugar into the milk, the buttercream is guaranteed to be creamy and smooth! No sugar crystals crunching between your teeth. By first beating the softened butter until it's light and fluffy and then adding the pudding base one spoonful at a time, the buttercream comes together very easily.
Note: You can make this buttercream allergy-friendly by using gluten-free flour instead of the all-purpose, and also lactose-free milk. No lactose, no eggs, no gluten!
4 1/2 tablespoons (1.4 ounces) all-purpose flour 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup whole milk 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cubed and softened at room temperature 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Pinch of salt
Whisk together flour and sugar in a medium saucepan. Whisk in milk. Place saucepan over low heat and bring to a boil, whisking continuously, then cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Pour the pudding onto a clean heatproof plate or shallow container. Immediately cover it with plastic wrap, pressing the plastic wrap directly against the pudding's surface.
In a stand mixer fitted with the whisk or paddle, or in a mixing bowl if using a handheld mixer, beat the butter until smooth and fluffy and lightened in color, about 2 minutes. Add the cooled pudding one tablespoon at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla and salt and beat until buttercream looks thick, smooth, and creamy, about 3 minutes
Use immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container or a zipper-lock bag for up to one week. To use buttercream that has been refrigerated, first allow to come to room temperature then beat until smooth and spreadable again. Cakes or cupcakes decorated with buttercream generally keep up to 3 days, stored in an airtight container in the fridge. Serve buttercream at room temperature.

If I had to guess, I’d say that Sarah has PCOS and insulin resistance. She’s probably on prednisone, because that stuffed-looking “moon face” is a side effect.
I’d love to get her on a good low-carb diet because she cannot be healthy. She is a sweetie pie and I’d like her to stick around.

R251 = obsessive food porn frau/phag.
Just eat a bag of suger and lard, fatty.

R251, I make this for whoopie pie filling. It’s excellent. People love it. Light and fluffy and not grainy/gritty. We always called it “Poor man’s whipped cream”.

I feel sad when I look at Sara ...

R251, that is a great recipe. Thank you for posting it. It was originally published as the filling in a whoopee pie recipe from the wonderful Maida Heatter.

I cant stand watching her because of her enormous size. I feel guilty about it, but it’s true. How does she wipe her ass? With a rag attached to a stick??

The holes in her head seem to be on its way to disappear into her fat face. Is she allergic to diets?
When was the last time she saw her cunt? Is she still able to reach over to touch her clit?
by Anonymous | reply 260 | April 4, 2019 3:36 AM |
OMG, she's huge. Does she cook healthy food?
by Anonymous | reply 261 | April 4, 2019 3:38 AM |
She's a vegan/vegetarian.

Bitch can't ice a cupcake to save her life.

The best youtube cooking channel is Cooking With Dog. I can't watch this Sara woman.
by Anonymous | reply 264 | April 4, 2019 3:48 AM |
Her chin is expanding. But she seems less out of breath from simply talking like before.
by Anonymous | reply 265 | April 4, 2019 3:55 AM |
How can people let themselves go like this?! I weigh 155 pounds and I'm on a strict diet right now but I already feel very Karen Carpenter-ish looking at this creature.
by Anonymous | reply 266 | April 4, 2019 10:13 AM |
She's gross I can't watch her I'm 5 lbs. overweight and I feel like a beast I can't imagine how she feels.
by Anonymous | reply 267 | April 4, 2019 3:32 PM |
She's a nice lady tho so that's all that matters.
by Anonymous | reply 268 | April 4, 2019 3:35 PM |
You would think that with such a chin Simply Sara would try to avoid low angle shots like the plague so that the downward looking face does not push up the spare tyre around her neck and make her look like a frill-neck lizard, but nope, she can't help it!

I just find her so soothing. I wish she wasn't morbidly obese.
I would love to listen to her talk about life happenings.

That's part of the appeal, if she was a normal size no one would have cared.

Sara's motto: "you can always add more if you like."

R275 I am sure poor dear Sara is a MLMer and many of them ingest the essential oils they hawk.
by Anonymous | reply 277 | April 8, 2019 11:15 PM |
^ Yep, she does Facebook Live streams where she shills Paparazzi jewelry.
by Anonymous | reply 278 | April 8, 2019 11:27 PM |
I find her soothing too, and very pleasant. I don't mind her size. I don't judge her or anyone by that. I just hope she's healthy and able to stay that way. Some very overweight people are healthier than some very thin ones of the same age.

I came across an interesting 'chef' this morning on You Tube. A young man preparing food in the field, using ingredients grown or raised nearby in his village. I don't know where this village is located. He uses many of my favorite ingredients -
No pretentiousness, just good food. I'm reminded of the absurdity of some people paying $500 for a meal at these pompous restaurants like Alinea in Chicago, and watching him prepare hearty tasteful food with good simple ingredients is what 'dining' is all about.

She's vegetarian now after another near-death experience last summer and someone in the comments posted that she has lost 80 lbs. Her face does look a little different, but it's hard to tell.
Unfortunately, she hasn't really changed the way she cooks; she's relying on junk like canned fake tuna and frozen Morningstar crumbles.
by Anonymous | reply 282 | April 12, 2019 11:00 PM |
Yeah, R282, it's like people who eat vegan cookies or gluten free cake.
She gets very little nutrition but she lives in a food desert. I've watched a video where she answers questions. The next town over has a grocery store and a Dollar General.
About 2 hours away are more supermarkets. I think Walmart is 1 hr from her.
by Anonymous | reply 283 | April 14, 2019 10:57 PM |
That's wonderful, R282—you can actually see a chin emerging there.
Maybe we can send her suggestions for healthier vegetarian recipes with fewer processed ingredients?
by Anonymous | reply 284 | April 14, 2019 11:00 PM |
At 5:20 her husband says she has lost over seventy pounds and he’s lost over sixty. It was posted on March 20th, so eighty sounds about right. Good for them.
She’s starting to get a neck now; the sides are sucking in.
by Anonymous | reply 285 | April 14, 2019 11:21 PM |
Wow that's great

Sara enjoying sriracha and some simple wok cooking! Go Sara!!
by Anonymous | reply 288 | October 11, 2019 10:27 AM |
I don't really get why people say Sara is "so sweet." All I see is her cooking. Pretty neutral.
Is it that you feel protective of her because of her weight?
by Anonymous | reply 289 | October 11, 2019 11:36 AM |
Just one r287?
