The term is "kitchen sink dramas," dear dum-dum op.

Overrated and boring. I absolutely hated Look Back in Anger and fell fast sleep during all the others. You can be all angry and moody as you like in a film but at least one of the characters has to be likable or relatable (and not in a cheap way, by making the one likable person a victim).

Boring plots, too much talk, angry characters

OP You're using a photo from the critically acclaimed film A Taste of Honey as an example to make your case? Seriously? BAFTA has awarded it best film, best screenplay and best actor awards for the two leads.

I liked "Billy Liar": it was funny and sad, and Julie Christie looked great.

Even the Kitchen Sink gays lacked hotness.

This Sporting Life is excellent.

I'm not sure Billy Liar is Kitchen Sink's - just because it's set in the North of England.
