I'm British, and I still remember looking up Harry Potter forums as a kid and being confused as to why so many posters were talking about The Sorcerer's Stone.

Sometimes the book itself, too. The English edition of the second Bridget Jones book had a whole subplot about the death of Di, which did not make it to the American ed.
