He looked ugly and disgusting
Talent, you cromag troll.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 23, 2018 10:01 PM |
Go educate yourself OP but first, fuck off.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 23, 2018 10:02 PM |
I agree that he was hideous. However, he stands alongside Mick Jagger and David Lee Roth as one of the greatest rock and roll front men of all time.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 23, 2018 10:02 PM |
not only an incredible performer - a superb voice
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 23, 2018 10:04 PM |
Yeah!
And why was Einstein famous? He had zero abs!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 23, 2018 10:04 PM |
OP's "specialty" (special troll talent) is creating threads that try to hook by supremely idiotic cunting cuntitude. Often featuring the word CUNT, because OP projects.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 23, 2018 10:05 PM |
Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest singers of all time.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 23, 2018 10:10 PM |
Freddie was handsome. That's a bad photo of him with dated hair. He is arguably one of the greatest male singers ever and probably the best rock and roll singer of all time.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 23, 2018 10:17 PM |
But OP's method often works. People respond to this sort of provocation.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 23, 2018 10:18 PM |
Queen was the opening act for a Mott the Hoople concert I attended at Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis in the mid-'70s.
Mercury was prancing about and singing his set and started one song with, "Here's our hit which I'm sure you all know" but no one had ever heard of him, Queen, or his song. The crowd was there to see Mott the Hoople.
A few months later "Killer Queen" hit the radio stations.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 23, 2018 10:19 PM |
Jagger, Plant, Cobain and Mercury are on the Mr. Rushmore for male rock frontman. All for different reasons of course. For Freddie? The best voice ever for his genre.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 23, 2018 10:21 PM |
Freddie was a great, great musician, OP. I was just a wee tot when Queen's piece de resistance was released, and I've remembered it since. Let's have a listen:
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 23, 2018 10:21 PM |
“I won’t be a rock star. I will be a legend” - Freddie Mercury
He knew we would recognize his brilliance.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 23, 2018 10:24 PM |
His voice and charisma OP.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 23, 2018 10:29 PM |
If I block OP, I won't have to put up with his nonsense, right?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 23, 2018 10:35 PM |
That's right R16. But this is the sort of thing that makes up most of DL nowadays, sadly. People bite. They love this shit.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 23, 2018 10:37 PM |
Because he had a fantastic voice and was a part of a band that made songs that lots of people loved.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 23, 2018 10:37 PM |
His high pitch was very clear.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 23, 2018 10:38 PM |
One of their more popular live performances shows just how famous our dear fabulous Freddie was
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 23, 2018 10:41 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 23, 2018 10:55 PM |
Who cares how the thread was started? It gives us a chance to get together to pay our respect to one of music’s greatest performers. Right to the bitter end.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 23, 2018 10:56 PM |
Jesus, he would never make it with those teeth today. His management would get him orthodontic work and veneers right away.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 23, 2018 10:56 PM |
He could have some talent but that doesn't negate the simple fact that he was ugly.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 23, 2018 10:57 PM |
He wasn't ugly. He was him, Freddie. OP, how old are you? Grow up, pal. Your focus should be on becoming as best a human you can be. You should get started on that, dude.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 23, 2018 10:59 PM |
R27 it does matter how it starts. This starts on stupid mean trolling based on disrespect of someone you obviously admire. A general debasement of rhetoric.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 23, 2018 11:00 PM |
I always thought "Queen" was such a bizarre name for a pop group.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 23, 2018 11:02 PM |
Freddie Mercury and Queen were before my time, but I can recognize why they were so popular. I don't care if I never hear Bohemian Rhapsody again, but I like a lot of their other stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 23, 2018 11:02 PM |
I had a major crush on him, I loved the first three albums. I saw Queen in probably 1976. We were front row center pressed against the stage. My friend reach up and touched Freddie's ankle. Brian posed for a picture for me with my Kodak 104 Instamatic camera.
Freddie didn't get his teeth fixed because he was afraid of it changing his voice. He hated his buck teeth as much as I hated mine. Fortunately, I can't carry a tune and gladly had braces.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 23, 2018 11:03 PM |
I din't know that people on DL were that sensitive and mature LMAO. They insult everyone, calling them ugly left and right and then act so sensitive and offended in this thread because I called Freddie Mercury ugly and disgusting. The hypocrisy is real here.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 23, 2018 11:05 PM |
I loved how he looked in the early days in his fox fur jacket.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 23, 2018 11:06 PM |
He was ugly and attractive too.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 23, 2018 11:06 PM |
R31 But would we have gotten together otherwise, at this moment, to talk about how great Freddie was?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 23, 2018 11:07 PM |
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 23, 2018 11:08 PM |
When the camera panned up to see Freddie have his shirt ripped open revealing his chest hair in the video for “Crazy Little Thing Called Loved”, it was like an awakening to a lot of us gay kids and teenagers.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 23, 2018 11:11 PM |
Back when people bought vinyl records, I never bought a Queen album. Not my cup o' tea.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 23, 2018 11:11 PM |
Was Queen big in America or were they more like ABBA, popular overseas but not really big over here.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 23, 2018 11:17 PM |
"Fat Bottom Girls" was a popular college radio station hit.

You know he died of AIDS, don't you?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 23, 2018 11:25 PM |
Yes, r52, I hate AIDS.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | October 23, 2018 11:29 PM |
R53 = the deplorable level of DL IQ these days.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | October 23, 2018 11:32 PM |
Long after Freddie's death his songs, like those of the The Village People, were always played at straight's weddings and major celebrations. Queen and ballgames across the USA were the norm. Yes Americana has long been defined as Mom, apple pie, baseball games, hot dogs, and at least 1 Queen song. Of course even little kids know the words. Queen will ALWAYS be popular.
Bet most didn't originally know exactly what Freddie Mercury even looked like let alone cared that he wasn't stereotypical handsome. Didn't matter if he was straight, bi, or gay either, except for the tragic fact that he died prematurely. Most people have a fav Queen song, and everyone fell in love with his music 1st. Looks didn't matter.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | October 23, 2018 11:33 PM |
for his songwriting and singing talent and he was good looking
by Anonymous | reply 59 | October 23, 2018 11:34 PM |

OP, you do know that in some of the photos that you described as "ugly and disgusting" Freddie was literally of dying from AIDS? You piece of shit

Gather 'round, kiddies!
Once upon a time, in a faraway culture, musicians were were elevated to star status because of their musical talent; not their looks!
Sounds crazy, I know!!!!

I hate r55 too
by Anonymous | reply 64 | October 23, 2018 11:40 PM |
I cant bring myself to watch his last video when he was so far gone. I saw it once and cried. We lost so many wonder people those years.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | October 23, 2018 11:41 PM |
Well, he was no Rami Malek, that's for sure.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | October 23, 2018 11:42 PM |
^Wonderful
by Anonymous | reply 67 | October 23, 2018 11:42 PM |
Freddie proved at least for the time in which he lived that you didn't have to be gorgeous to be great. He'd blow any of the male frontmen of the last 20 years clear off the fucking stage and into the swamp. Sadly, today with these millennial cunts and their obsession for body, beauty, and cock, poor Freddy wouldn't make it past the first audition.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | October 23, 2018 11:42 PM |
I'd have done him in a heartbeat, and I bet he had more charisma taking a shit or sleeping than OP will ever have.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | October 23, 2018 11:44 PM |
Op fucks dogs
by Anonymous | reply 70 | October 23, 2018 11:48 PM |
Wow, this thread has really hit a nerve.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | October 23, 2018 11:49 PM |
Know there are those on DL that hate straight women posting, but OP so offends me that I must chime in. It was before my time but I've always heard stories of Freddie Mercury's very strong and loyal female fans. When he changed from his glam look, and went more Castro (a look I personally favored,) tons of women sent him nail polish and other accessories to complement his "old look."
Another point especially in 2019 of why Freddie Mercury will always have lifelong fans. He was "safe." No horrible stories of Freddie bringing young, vulnerable/stupid girls/teens backstage to be drugged and raped. No disgusting stories of Mercury making girls have abortions. Mercury = sexy + SAFE. Hopefully there's a Heaven where he's still creating beautiful music.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | October 23, 2018 11:49 PM |
Because he was a phenomenal talent with buckets of charisma, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | October 23, 2018 11:52 PM |
Is is just my mind playing tricks on me but I seem to see more very good looking young adults than there were in Generation X? I guess you could look like John Lennon or Austin Powers and be famous if you were a baby boomer. Are men and women more conscious than they used to be of what the potential chiildren will look like?
by Anonymous | reply 74 | October 23, 2018 11:53 PM |
As for his teeth, I read somewhere that he was afraid that if he fixed them, it might adversely affect his vocal range. So, he chose his talent over his vanity.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | October 23, 2018 11:54 PM |
R73, Please add that there are many music lovers who have always deeply identified with those who weren't cookie-cutter, white-bread looking, standard cute.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | October 23, 2018 11:55 PM |
He just had a fucked up grill, but man he might have be the greatest vocalist of all time.

by Anonymous | reply 80 | October 24, 2018 12:02 AM |
r78, why drag Queen Bey into the OP's debacle. Just because she has multiple songwriters doesn't make her any less talented.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | October 24, 2018 12:03 AM |
R62 STFU you blind idiot, All the photos i posted of Freddie here were way before he was diagnosed with AIDS, from the 1970s and early 1980s.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | October 24, 2018 12:03 AM |
Queen Bey's talent alone makes her FAR less talented. Don't blame the songwriters or Jayz.

by Anonymous | reply 87 | October 24, 2018 12:25 AM |
One the best live performances ever, at Live-Aid 1985. He has every single person in that stadium in the entranced and in the palm of his hand. AMAZING.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | October 24, 2018 12:49 AM |
R88 It's Not unique.. Michael Jackson Got reaction like this as well.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | October 24, 2018 12:52 AM |
r82 you are an idiot. Freddie was from all accounts already HIV+ in the photos you posted of him in the white tank top which are most likely from Queen's performance at Live Aid at Wembley Stadium. This performance from1985 is the stuff of legend, although Freddie barely made it through the entire gig, when he got off stage he was completely exhausted due to his HIV infection.
After that, he actually wrote and recorded music up to his death knowing that he would not be around to hear them fully produced and released.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | October 24, 2018 12:53 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 97 | October 24, 2018 11:13 PM |
I don't get the whitewashing of the gay stuff. Everybody and their grandmother knows that Freddie Mercury was gay gay gay. It would be like doing a movie about Elton John and not saying much about him being gay. So stupid.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | October 24, 2018 11:21 PM |
R98, Agreed. I was very surprised to find out Freddie Mercury had a girlfriend/close female friend at one time. Was he in fact bisexual?
Still Freddie was nowhere near as flamboyant as Elton John or Boy George. Americans were more than used to assuming super talented ENGLISH musicians were going to be over-the-top performers. That was part of the live show. Personally I think most fell in love with Mercury's music FIRST, and then got to see him as an artist. That's why his looks/ethnicity didn't really matter. No one ever made a big deal of the fact He wasn't 100% Caucasian either.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | October 24, 2018 11:35 PM |
I think back in those days people just assumed he was 100% caucasian. Information wasn't as easily accessible back then.

From Popbitch: Kenny Everett and Freddie Mercury were out with Princess Di one night when Kenny and Freddie said they were going to the gay club, Vauxhall Tavern. Princess Di asked if she could come, but Kenny said no she couldn’t possibly. Freddie had far fewer reservations, saying “C’mon darling! Let’s let the Princess have a night out!” So they dressed her up in a flying jacket and some aviators and they snuck her in.
