I don't watch the show, have never watched the show, and never will watch the show. But if the kid is dancing well good for her. It will help burn off some of that fat her mother allowed her to accumulate. win-win for the child.

I'm ashamed to admit that I watch the show. Honey Boo Boo's dancing ability is exactly what you'd think - she's terrible. The first two weeks she basically stood there and shimmied while her poor partner danced around her. This week she had to actually perform some dance steps, but let's just say she's not a natural born dancer. She doesn't appear to be loosing any weight.

She reminds me of a young Judy Garland.

The judges have obviously been warned to treat HBB with kid gloves or else. She's this show's version of Bristol Palin, she's being treated with the utmost tact and undeserved "praise" (i.e. the judges work hard to find a way to avoid getting specific about her dance moves, instead of trying to give HBB any valuable critiques to improve her dancing, which I'm sure they've been told not to do, they talk about her personality or ability to tell a story or some other vague bullshit like that. HBB almost seems like a feral animal.

Anything this 13-year-old child can learn to escape from her mother and past un-asked-for (by her) notoriety is good thing.

I watched just a few minutes of the first show and thought it was child pron.

Her bold and sassy attitude is not cute any more but Mama needs new shoes so she will have this child go to an opening of an envelope if it keeps their name out there and the gravy train rolling in.

She is 3 times the size of those other girls. It's nice to instill confidence but there is a point where it becomes delusion.

I’ve never been able to watch any of these competetive, exploitative shows that single out and “eliminate” someone every week. It is so psychologically damaging, even, I believe, for the winners.

The one exception is that I enjoyed a few seasons of The Great British Bake Off. The Brits seemed much more kind and understanding about dropping contestants and the show seemed to focus more on celebrating all the contestants’ culinary skills and baking itself as a matter of British cultural heritage.

She was drinking Mountain Dew and eating crap since a young age. Her family is a poor example, rather than exercise and eat right June had weight loss surgery and still has not changed her lifestyle so she is gaining the weight back.

June was smart to get Alana on that show. Lots of publicity and will give them a good storyline for the next season of their WE reality show even though she didn't get that far.
