Pussy grabbing at the UN. Also getting ready to be 3-inch Pence's Vice president. You heard it here first!

by Anonymousreply 1October 9, 2018 2:23 PM

I cannot WAIT to hear the story on THIS one!

by Anonymousreply 2October 9, 2018 2:24 PM

Could she have been the source for the NYT Op Ed?

by Anonymousreply 3October 9, 2018 2:24 PM

Another career destroyed by trump. Who in their right mind would want to work for him?

by Anonymousreply 4October 9, 2018 2:25 PM

r3, that has been speculated.

by Anonymousreply 5October 9, 2018 2:25 PM

Better-opened thread

by Anonymousreply 6October 9, 2018 2:26 PM

Her skin is so bad.

by Anonymousreply 7October 9, 2018 2:26 PM

WOW! What are we supposed to do with those nw drapes?

by Anonymousreply 8October 9, 2018 2:26 PM

Surprised. I thought she just redecorated a NY apartment for some outrageous sum.

by Anonymousreply 9October 9, 2018 2:27 PM

Slut!

by Anonymousreply 10October 9, 2018 2:27 PM

Who will replace her?

by Anonymousreply 11October 9, 2018 2:27 PM

Au Revoir, Nimrata

by Anonymousreply 12October 9, 2018 2:28 PM

Susan Collins.

I kid! I kid!

by Anonymousreply 13October 9, 2018 2:28 PM

All of the above are good guesses. Mine is it’ll be “To pursue other options.”

In other words - she’s clearing the decks to take the Senatrice’s S.C. Senate Seat next month when Miss Lindsey becomes AG.

by Anonymousreply 14October 9, 2018 2:28 PM

Another trump bitch. Good riddance,

by Anonymousreply 15October 9, 2018 2:28 PM

So far, r10 has the best commentary.

by Anonymousreply 16October 9, 2018 2:29 PM

R14 Interesting theory.

by Anonymousreply 17October 9, 2018 2:31 PM

Formal announcement is imminent according to Rump Tweet.

by Anonymousreply 18October 9, 2018 2:32 PM

She dresses nicely. Does she have a stylist?

by Anonymousreply 19October 9, 2018 2:35 PM

She obviously got tired of being forced to lie for this band of human feces in the Trump administration.

by Anonymousreply 20October 9, 2018 2:37 PM

Yes, r19.

by Anonymousreply 21October 9, 2018 2:37 PM

by Anonymousreply 25October 9, 2018 2:43 PM

Her timing is horrible.

by Anonymousreply 26October 9, 2018 2:43 PM

After her speeches at the United Nations R24 it would be hard for her to separate herself from Trump. How would she say she is different from Trump?

by Anonymousreply 27October 9, 2018 2:44 PM

The new one will probably be a man.

by Anonymousreply 28October 9, 2018 2:45 PM

Wow I think other posters might be right. Sessions resigns, Graham takes over, Haley is named acting Senator from SC. Miss Lindz’ seat isn’t up until 2020 right?

by Anonymousreply 29October 9, 2018 2:46 PM

I agree she praised him a bit too much to break away from him now. NeverTrumpers will probably forgive her but Trump skeptic independents (which is most of them) may not

by Anonymousreply 30October 9, 2018 2:46 PM

She got the vapours!

by Anonymousreply 31October 9, 2018 2:48 PM

Maybe they’ll just leave the position empty for awhile to show contempt for the UN. She’s staying till the end of the year. Does she have a deputy?

by Anonymousreply 32October 9, 2018 2:48 PM

Good for her.

by Anonymousreply 33October 9, 2018 2:49 PM

I guess she got tired of groveling for votes.

by Anonymousreply 35October 9, 2018 2:51 PM

There's a bigger story here, of course. Would totally believe the Ms. Lindsay to AG rumors, but shudder at the implications for Mueller. Would also not be surprised if Haley was messing around with another Deplorable in the administration.

by Anonymousreply 36October 9, 2018 2:51 PM

CNN is discussing the possibility of Ivanka as new UN ambassador . . . .

by Anonymousreply 37October 9, 2018 2:51 PM

I highly doubt she runs against Trump in 2020. The Rethugs are too afraid of him and his cult members.

by Anonymousreply 38October 9, 2018 2:52 PM

I know it's irrelevant to you gentlemen, but I think Nikki's hot as hell and I'd sleep with her in a heartbeat.

by Anonymousreply 39October 9, 2018 2:52 PM

It is an ETHICS VIOLATION - expenses, finances investigation.

by Anonymousreply 40October 9, 2018 2:53 PM

David Gergen said Haley could be a VP pick for Trump next time.

by Anonymousreply 41October 9, 2018 2:53 PM

I believe the Secret Lesbians have claimed another victim!

by Anonymousreply 42October 9, 2018 2:54 PM

Nicky Quisling for VP!

by Anonymousreply 43October 9, 2018 2:54 PM

Rosenstein ratted her out on his "plane meeting" with Trump re Times OpEd

by Anonymousreply 44October 9, 2018 2:55 PM

Hope she doesn’t say it’s for family reasons.

by Anonymousreply 45October 9, 2018 2:55 PM

R41, did Gergen enlarge on his notion or say why he thought Trump might drop Pence from the ticket in 2020?

by Anonymousreply 46October 9, 2018 2:57 PM

R46 No. Just that a woman on the ticket could be helpful.

by Anonymousreply 47October 9, 2018 2:59 PM

Is every single Republican a scummy piece of shit? They are fucking sociopathic.

by Anonymousreply 48October 9, 2018 3:00 PM

Maybe he doesn’t trust Pence. They don’t seem to be close.

by Anonymousreply 49October 9, 2018 3:01 PM

Republicans have such good options for themselves moving forward. What the hell do we have?! Fucking Bernie Sanders with his moldy hair? Kamala and Booker which is Obama 2.0? We're toast if we don't find more prolific candidates for the national stage. Democrats are frightened to speak their mind wtf

by Anonymousreply 50October 9, 2018 3:01 PM

What about as VP for Mike Pence?

by Anonymousreply 51October 9, 2018 3:01 PM

Lindsey Graham wants to dump Pence so he can be Vice President. John Bolton in cooperation with Pompeo forced Haley out. This is not rocket science.

Stop asking for links. Use your heads. This is well reasoned, obvious conjecture on my part. Pay attention.

by Anonymousreply 52October 9, 2018 3:01 PM

She’d also be a much better (well, competent) VP we’re Trump to (ahh) pursue other opportunities.

by Anonymousreply 53October 9, 2018 3:01 PM

... tho’ I still think she takes Miss Lindsey’s seat first, regardless.

by Anonymousreply 54October 9, 2018 3:04 PM

Agree R14. South Carolina would vote for any Nazi on the ballot

by Anonymousreply 55October 9, 2018 3:05 PM

Pretty in pink. “I’m such a lucky girl.”

by Anonymousreply 56October 9, 2018 3:06 PM

How will this affect the Mueller investigation?

by Anonymousreply 57October 9, 2018 3:06 PM

Not watching trump’s announcement. Did anyone give a reason as to why she’s leaving? Even though I’m well aware it would be a lie.

by Anonymousreply 58October 9, 2018 3:06 PM

Someone finally told him she's a WOC, r58.

by Anonymousreply 59October 9, 2018 3:08 PM

by Anonymousreply 65October 9, 2018 3:16 PM

What a loathsome creature Trump is.

by Anonymousreply 66October 9, 2018 3:17 PM

Is she really having a press conference? I said I wasn't watching the news this week because of how bad things were last week, but I just HAVE to see what reasons she gives for resigning

by Anonymousreply 67October 9, 2018 3:21 PM

R50 So basically you want a "WHITE MAN" to run for president is what you're trying to say right?

by Anonymousreply 68October 9, 2018 3:22 PM

Ignore R50. Lots of deplorables try to pretend they are democrats here to hurt morale. Block the troll if you want but don't feed it

by Anonymousreply 69October 9, 2018 3:24 PM

No R50 just a division troll. Te Dem field will be full of qualified candidates

by Anonymousreply 70October 9, 2018 3:25 PM

It doesn't sound like Haley got forced out. She resigned and the President is saying nice things about her. So that cuts out the NYTimes op-ed theory and the fired theory. She's planning something. Probably something horrible.

by Anonymousreply 71October 9, 2018 3:26 PM
We're toast if we don't find more prolific candidates for the national stage

So the problem with democratic candidates is that they don't reproduce enough?

by Anonymousreply 72October 9, 2018 3:27 PM

OMG Trump believes the USA is MORE respected now than in the past few decades.

I have not visited the U.S. since '13; though I have not traveled much since '04.

My brother and his wife, however, vacation two or three time a year, and have not been south of the border since the Prez election in '16. Also, his wife does not purchase any products manufactured in the States.

WORLDWIDE RESPECT OF TRUMP? Holy F., this megalomaniac is delusional.

He is picking war with Iran and China, and still Hillary haunts his ps¥che. All Trump cares about is being on TV and talked about incessantly. I can't believe I fell in his trap again today.

Does the US Taxpayer cover the expense of every weekend spent golfing at one of his exclusive clubs, or sunning at Mara Largo?

by Anonymousreply 79October 9, 2018 3:35 PM

Maybe R68 just wants to win. We couldn’t win with a woman in 201y, we won’t win with Harris or Warren and Corey Booker is a schmaltzy showboater. Would a white man have more of a chance of winning? In this day & age, yes. Going for a PoC or a woman will just damn us to losing again.

But hey, we’ll lose with integrity! Because losing with integrity has worked out so well for us. We lost 2 SCOTUS seats that should have been ours.

Win first. That’s the most important thing. Then hire an excavating crew to find and undo the damage Trump has done. But win first. No matter what it takes, and if it takes a white guy, then get a white guy. Trying to score brownie points for people who don’t show up to vote half the time is a losing strategy. I say go with Biden. He can always resign due to health considerations after he wins. Get Biden and a much younger VP? That way the VP can take over. But unfortunately, it can’t be a woman or PoC Vp because the GOP will win by screaming about how Biden will res sign and the VP will practice identity politics and be ultra liberal, turning off independent voters. GOp did a good job demonizing Hillary and Obama. America bought it because America has more racists voters than non racists. Notice I said voters. All well & good for millennials to talk about how open & accepting they are, then they don’t show up at the polls or get an absentee ballot at college.

by Anonymousreply 80October 9, 2018 3:36 PM

I meant the younger than millennials getting absentee college ballots. I can’t remember what they’re called.

by Anonymousreply 81October 9, 2018 3:37 PM

She is such a toady: "Jared Kushner is a hidden genius that no one understands."

She'll spend the next few years readying for a 2024 presidential run.

by Anonymousreply 82October 9, 2018 3:39 PM

"We couldn’t win with a woman in 201y, we won’t win with Harris or Warren and Corey Booker is a schmaltzy showboater. Would a white man have more of a chance of winning? In this day & age, yes. Going for a PoC or a woman will just damn us to losing again."

So if a woman didn't win in 2016 that means a woman will never win ever? Nice logic there. And a "PoC" was handily elected in 2008 and then re-elected in 2012.

by Anonymousreply 83October 9, 2018 3:39 PM

Trump said nice things about Dr. Ford R71 until he didn't. It has been quite obvious for years that you can't trust anything Trump says.

by Anonymousreply 87October 9, 2018 3:40 PM

Bolton probably chased Haley out. He hates the UN.

by Anonymousreply 88October 9, 2018 3:41 PM

“She’s done a fantastic job,” Trump continued. “We’re all happy for you in one way, but we hate to lose you. Hopefully you’ll be coming back at some point. But maybe in a different capacity. You can have your pick.”

Haley, meanwhile, told reporters that she would not be running for president in 2020, promising she will be campaigning for Trump.

I think she's just tired.

by Anonymousreply 94October 9, 2018 3:47 PM
[R80] is a troll and one of the stupider ones.

Well, the problem is that R80's analysis is pretty much spot-on. It doesn't take a political scientist to see that Trump's "victory" had as much to do with racial backlash as Russian interference. The deplorables just needed an excuse to display their animus outwardly, and Trump stoked and stokes it every damn day.

by Anonymousreply 95October 9, 2018 3:48 PM

Hmph, R94.

I agree Nikki is going to take Lindsey's seat. This was all orchestrated behind the scenes by John Bolton and Lindsey. Betcha. Pompeo doesn't give a fuck.Haley is perfect for the Senate, not so perfect as a potential running mate for Trump. The thing is, she is too independent for him. Senate seat would work out better ,especially if Graham convinced them he can control her if she is a senator from NC. Or SC? Which is it?

by Anonymousreply 106October 9, 2018 4:07 PM

Hopefully, he doesn't appoint Ivanka.

by Anonymousreply 107October 9, 2018 4:08 PM

R101 has reading comprehension problems, obviously missing the part where I pointed out racial backlash [italic]and[/italic] where R80 points to "people who don’t show up to vote half the time" (and not being able to see that, R101 has political comprehension problems, as well).

Let me be direct: we just lost a liberal Supreme Court because fewer people than fit in an NFL stadium on any given Sunday spread across three pivotal states didn't bother to vote. Who did vote? Deplorables venting their pent-up racial animus. If only a few more of the people who came out for Obama in WI, MI and PA had bothered to vote...

by Anonymousreply 108October 9, 2018 4:08 PM

You also had people that didn't vote for any presidential candidate and just left it blank R108.

by Anonymousreply 109October 9, 2018 4:11 PM
Haley is perfect for the Senate, not so perfect as a potential running mate for Trump. The thing is, she is too independent for him.

She certainly didn't show any independence as his U.N. ambassador.

But no, she's not gonna be Trump's VP.

by Anonymousreply 110October 9, 2018 4:11 PM

Was just going to post something similar, r108. What r101 is ignoring is the backlash that started the day Obama was elected.

by Anonymousreply 113October 9, 2018 4:16 PM

Oh fuck off, hysterical cunt at R87. We’re sick of your screeching that people who have been here since 1998, which I have been, are trolls. You’re the OCD Troll Screamer who attacks anyone with a slightly different opinion than yours.

And I did not say a woman “will never be elected.” I said that right now RIGHT NOW, in this day and age, a democratic woman will not be elected, whether black, white, Asian or Latino. If you don’t believe me, go ahead and nominate Warren or Harris and watch what happens. Against Trump, the woman will lose.

by Anonymousreply 114October 9, 2018 4:16 PM

And I say that RIGHT NOW, in this day and age, you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about and that you cannot back up your uninformed opinion with anything resembling logic, reason, or actual data.

by Anonymousreply 115October 9, 2018 4:29 PM

Deplorables don't use Data R115. They just take what their orange god says at face value. I love how the same trolls here praising Nikki Haley and saying the dems should fear her (which I agree with) are also saying dems can't nominate minorities anymore. They're too stupid to avoid contradicting themselves

by Anonymousreply 116October 9, 2018 4:45 PM

Departing U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Tuesday morning lauded White House senior adviser Jared Kushner as a "hidden genius" of the Trump administration.

Haley made the remark from the Oval Office as she announced her resignation at the end of the year.

"I can’t say enough good things about Jared and Ivanka [Trump]," she said. "Jared is such a hidden genius that no one understands."

Haley gave Kushner credit for renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) deal last week.

"To redo the NAFTA deal the way he did," she said, listing off his accomplishments. "What I’ve done working with him on the Middle East peace plan ... it is so unbelievably well-done."

Kushner, who is married to Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump, has been tasked with forming a Middle East peace plan to resolve tensions between Israel and Palestine.

Haley also called Ivanka Trump a "great friend."

"They do a lot of things behind the scenes that I wish more people knew about," she said. "We’re a better country because they’re in this administration."

by Anonymousreply 119October 9, 2018 4:52 PM

by Anonymousreply 122October 9, 2018 5:00 PM

I wonder if Kushner wants to be credited with the "success"?

Also hidden genius sounds like a term trump would come up with.

Only people who wear special glasses can see his genius.

by Anonymousreply 124October 9, 2018 5:03 PM

Ethical violations? Figures.

by Anonymousreply 125October 9, 2018 5:04 PM

Andrea Mitchell's hour had an interesting discussion. The UN has become less important to the Trump administration. We are pulling out of a lot of special committees, Including the Human Rights Commission, and we have eliminated or cut significantly important funding for refugees and others. So there is a diminution of involvement by the USA in the UN. Bolton's policies in tandem with Trump. So I doubt Ivanka or Jared would do this. And Ivanka has three little kids and just committed to Washington DC. So I don't believe that Ivanka is a viable option. I'd say no to Jared too. He has a position of power now. He is a Special Advisor in the WH. He isn't going to be Haley's successor. The UN Job has been down graded. With the UN, look for someone who would regard this either as a promotion or as some kind of crowning plum to a distinguished career. Costa said that Nikki has a bit of scandal, controversy coming out and it was suggested it could impact the mid terms so she left ahead of them. But she did say she is waiting until the end of the year. So now everyone is asking why now? Ethics violations? Or to change the subject from Kavanaugh. She doesn't get along with Bolton and Trump's visit to the UN made him a laughing stock. According to sources she had no role in preparing him for thevisit.

by Anonymousreply 126October 9, 2018 5:13 PM

UN ambassadorship has no power compared to what Ivanka and Jared have now.

by Anonymousreply 127October 9, 2018 5:16 PM
Saw interesting speculation in WaPo that she might challenge Miss Lindsay in the 2020 primary.

Miss Lindsay may be attorney general by that point. Though Secretary of State is what he really covets.

by Anonymousreply 128October 9, 2018 5:16 PM

WaPo reporter John Hudson:

Haley had an increasingly diminished role as Pompeo filled the Tillerson vacuum, Bolton asserted himself on UN issues, and the US began withdrawing from key UN institutions/programs, chipping away at her clout.

Haley’s influence at UN was blunted by Trump policy decisions that many other nations opposed, including recognizing Jerusalem as the Israeli capital, cutting aid to Palestinians and announcing a U.S. withdrawal from the U.N. HR Council. Notably, Haley *supported* those moves.

Wait, if Miss Lindsey stops being a Senator what will her nickname be instead of The Senatrice?

by Anonymousreply 130October 9, 2018 5:27 PM

The Gay Turd.

by Anonymousreply 131October 9, 2018 5:29 PM

Oh, Miss Lindsay will forever be The Senatrice. After that performance over Kavanaugh, not even the lead in Broadway's latest revival of [italic]Cats[/italic] or a Hollywood blockbuster could remove that from his resume. It will be engraved on his tombstone.

by Anonymousreply 132October 9, 2018 5:31 PM

Lindsay won't leave the senate. I get hwy people think he wants AG. It would explain the Trump ass kissing, but I don't think that's his goal. AG is a lot of hard work and very little attention. Lindsay Graham loves to do nothing but talk at cameras all day

by Anonymousreply 133October 9, 2018 5:32 PM

Miss Lindsey is going to scratch her way to the top. She will be the first person to be both a queen and a president.

by Anonymousreply 134October 9, 2018 5:36 PM

Whys did she stay as long as she did? No morals.

by Anonymousreply 135October 9, 2018 5:37 PM
We’re sick of your screeching that people who have been here since 1998, which I have been, are trolls

We have a lot of trolls who have been here for many years. Dvida was here by 2004, MPC probably the late 1990s, then of course people like MHB who may not be here now were still around for a decade before they moved on.

Just because you've been here 20 years doesn't mean you're not a troll.

by Anonymousreply 136October 9, 2018 5:38 PM

I've only been here since about 2013, but If you are praising deplorables and building them up while attacking dems I'm going to call you a troll. You can cry about that as much as you want.

by Anonymousreply 137October 9, 2018 5:40 PM

The idea of Graham wanting Sec'y of State sounds right. It would certainly explain his bizarre behavior last week. He wanted to sound all tough and butch as an audition for Trump for the job.

Plus, he would look exceptionally fetching sitting on the edge of the desk in the oval office, legs crossed at the ankle, a steno pad in one hand, a pencil in the other and his hair in a demure chignon.

by Anonymousreply 138October 9, 2018 5:45 PM

Pompeo only got State a few months ago so why would Graham think that job is open? He'd have a better shot at AG. Of course he also could be kissing Trump ass so he doesn't get primaried in 2020.

by Anonymousreply 139October 9, 2018 5:50 PM

Nicky is going to run for something in 2020 that's for sure. If Trump is still President in 2020 she'll run for Senate or something. If Trump happens not to be president in 2020, she will run for the Republican nomination.

by Anonymousreply 140October 9, 2018 5:50 PM

The Senatrice will NOT have this idle talk y'all! She will remain the one and only Senatrice!

by Anonymousreply 147October 9, 2018 6:27 PM

Ah'm tellin' y'all.... the Senatrice wants to be Vice President. She either wants to become President or become a very wealthy powerbroker. A stint at DoD would position her to be a mega-lobbyist. Serious money. There is only one other post suited to her desires. Secretary of Defense. Otherwise she has no interest. If she were to push Pence out for 202, she would preside over the Senate with much more clout than Pence ever had.
"I can’t say enough good things about Jared and Ivanka [Trump]," she said. "Jared is such a hidden genius that no one understands."

Yes, if only Jared wasn't hidden in such obscurity and poverty, with so little means of communication, maybe the world could glimpse just a hint of his genius. Doubtless like so many of his ilk, his benefit to mankind will be grasped only long after his passing.

However, what with geniuses both stable and hidden at work in the WH, we can rest assured the world is in the safest possible hands. To borrow from JFK, it's clearly the greatest concentration of talent under the WH roof since Jefferson dined alone.

You really don't understand that Nikki Haley and her husband live the high class lifestyle? They are not clipping coupons.

Public Sector salaries are low for people who want to live the highlife. As UN ambassador Haley makes less than a first year lawyer at a good NY law firm.

Wanting to make money is a reason so far that makes sense to me.

by Anonymousreply 172October 9, 2018 8:13 PM

I keep tell yuz. Trump has reduced our presence at the United Nations, and she didn't get along with Bolton who is Trump's top dog. Being UN Ambassador would be a step down for Jared & Ivanka who are now Special Advisors working in the White House who can pretty much stick their noses into any issue they want to. And Trump has trust issues. He would never get rid of them. It wouldn't surprise me if some other people in the White House would like to see Jared and Ivanka gone, but the UN would be a step down for them and they will not give up their power in the WH. I just don't see it. Bet they send Kelly Ann or Sarah Huckabeast to NYC. My goodness.

Pence is also not well liked, and was rumored to be an establishment choice forced on Trump. He's surrounded by scandals yet to be revealed from before he was VP.

by Anonymousreply 192October 9, 2018 9:08 PM

One theory investigated by CNN is that Haley is massively in debt and needs a higher salary (from the private sector) to cover her mounting debts:
CNN: "According to Haley's 2018 financial disclosure, she reported a significant number of outstanding debts, including somewhere between $25,000 and $65,000 in credit cards, a mortgage in excess of $1 million and a line of credit between $250,000 and $500,000.
With one child in college and another headed there in the next few years, Haley could well have been lured by the 7-figure salaries available to someone with a resume like hers in the private sector.
Over the weekend, Citizens Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a government ethics watchdog, requested an investigation into Haley's acceptance of seven free flights from South Carolina businessmen in 2017.

by Anonymousreply 197October 9, 2018 9:26 PM

I don’t see her attraction. Her skin is so ugly.

by Anonymousreply 198October 9, 2018 9:27 PM

R195, perhaps Haley and her husband were worried that could potentially land them under investigation (for trading political favors for money). Yes, yes, I know it's a regular occurrence in lobby circles - but she was a representative at the UN and the UN might have its own (international) rules against that.

Or perhaps the husband was useless at lobbying / money-making and Haley had to step in herself to fix their mounting debt problem.

by Anonymousreply 199October 9, 2018 9:29 PM

Whatever the real reason is for Nikki Haley's departure, it must have been the best kept secret in Foggy Bottom. That she publicly offered glowing praise for Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, calling him a “hidden genius,” prompted the fear that Trump might make his son-in-law the new US ambassador to the UN.

Perhaps it's a good exit strategy for Ivanka Trump and her husband, allowing them to return to New York where they feel more at home. But does Kushner believe he's up to the task?

by Anonymousreply 200October 9, 2018 9:33 PM

Perhaps Taylor Swift has persuaded her to support Democrats??

by Anonymousreply 205October 9, 2018 9:41 PM

She should have just quit. People would have attributed it to her disgust of the Trump administration, Kavanaugh, etc. But the cozy press conference with Turd- promising to campaign for him- destroys what's left of her reputation.

by Anonymousreply 206October 9, 2018 9:51 PM

Agreed, R204. I wonder how she managed to rack up such a high level of debt. Mortgage - fine, they wanted a fancy house. But even her credit card debts are through the roof.

It's even more surprising given that, as a gov't employee, many of her expenses are covered anyway (e.g. food while she's on work trips, other complimentary allowances), plus reasonably good benefits.

I'm curious on what did she spend all that borrowed money.

Yeah I've seen the free flights thing bandied around, but c'mon, in the era of a Trump that just isn't a serious enough ethics violation that someone is going to resign over if they don't want to.

by Anonymousreply 213October 9, 2018 10:26 PM

R209, Haley's credit card debt (not even counting her other debts) was between $25k and $65k. So that's above average and strange (to me at least), especially since she could charge e.g. business lunches, etc to the government expense account or get reimbursed, plus good medical coverage.

by Anonymousreply 214October 9, 2018 10:27 PM

R213, perhaps there was more to her connection with those 3 businessmen than just free flights?

Her immediate resignation (the very next day after an investigation was requested) may be timed to try to prevent the State Department's investigator general from launching a full, deep investigation into those connections, which might reveal more controversial issues.

by Anonymousreply 215October 9, 2018 10:35 PM

Ivanka would never be approved for the UN - even if asswipe Collins stood there and praised her all day.

by Anonymousreply 218October 9, 2018 10:59 PM

Whatever crap Maggie Haberman puts out about this is the backstory that Trump is peddling. I agree the strange and awkward propping up of Ivanka and Jared means one of them is getting ready to take a new job. Nikki probably was told to play along on this one by Trump and she would be taken care of (not investigated, praised in order to procure a good outside job, etc.). I do think she was too independent for Trump and also probably caught hell from him on being the laughing stock of the UN.

by Anonymousreply 219October 9, 2018 11:01 PM

I suspect that if Ivanka were appointed US ambassador to the UN we'd be hearing constant leaks from other delegations about her ignorance of world affairs and how she did nothing but schmooze with people she thought could promote her brand and otherwise advance her dictator-princess ways.

Not only dated 60s pseudo-hipster-speak, but also typically crass language to use in the context. Small wonder he was laughed at by the UN.

Of course, just like when he was rightly laughed at by Obama at the Correspondents' dinner, he'll burn till he takes what he sees as revenge. If that means foisting Ivanka on the UN, the laughter will of course continue.

by Anonymousreply 231October 10, 2018 6:37 AM

If I read correctly above, it's Jared who was named as secret genius not Ivanka.

by Anonymousreply 232October 10, 2018 6:40 AM

Jared would have even more problems getting confirmed than Ivanka. The Russia investigation is still hanging over his head, as well as likely financial crimes.

by Anonymousreply 233October 10, 2018 7:08 AM

Trump and his cabal don't recognize "illegality." It's a concept they have inoculated themselves from. They believe they are above the law. It is hardwired into thei very bones. Trump believes he can do anything he wants and so can his family and fuck you and fuck the Law. That is the one thing we should at this point all be able to agree on. I want to see his ass in prison catatonic and drooling like a fool when reality hits him.

by Anonymousreply 235October 10, 2018 11:26 AM

I don't have a problem with Elizabeth Warren. And honestly there is n't a Republican drawing breath today who can accuse any Democrat, or anyone else for that matter, of "political irregularities" or corruption. They set the bar now they live with it.

by Anonymousreply 236October 10, 2018 11:42 AM

I personally dont have a problem with Warren other than she is old. However she is a brittle person in public conversation and I doubt her power to persuade rather irrational, feeling-based voters.

by Anonymousreply 237October 10, 2018 11:47 AM

Who ever runs for President for the Dems is going to have to be someone famous. I hate to say this but the country as a whoe has been suckered by the whole celebrity culture thing. We're going to need someone who has charisma. Not saying the potential candidates are not good enough, just that they need to up their game and exploit the "celebrity" factor. For example, I like Congressman Eric Swalwell, I like Senator Chris Coons, I like Congressman Adam Schiff. But they are boring. It's like watching paint dry when they speak. I agree Biden is too old, but a substantial part of his attraction is his charm and his ability to "perform." There is a theatricality to running for office and who ever runs needs to not act like they are in high school debate class, and be all earnest. They need to be president of the fucking Drama club and be able to engage their audiences. YOU can be smart and nerdy, but find your schtick.

Or my favorite, to have the whole clan, including the whore of Babylon current wife, all of his kids, and his SIL shot and then strung up by their legs, Mussolini style, in Times Square, where their corpses are left to rot.

by Anonymousreply 239October 10, 2018 11:59 AM

Please don't jump down my throat but I think Warren actually does have problems with the Native American thing. It is absolutely a racist attack and complete bullshit and other Native Americans completely get what she is saying. But most voters don't know the story, it can't be explained simply or quickly, and the false perception created by republicans is already sticking in some people's minds. I'm not saying she shouldn't run. I think she'd be a phenomenal president, but that is something we will need to contend with. It will be the new "emails". And the media will give it idiotic breathless coverage

by Anonymousreply 240October 10, 2018 12:00 PM

So if she is running for something why resign now? This makes no sense.

by Anonymousreply 241October 10, 2018 12:05 PM

NH can run for whatever office she wants, but she'll lose. Trump's stink will never wash off.

by Anonymousreply 242October 10, 2018 12:22 PM

Is Ye West (jerk) vying for a position in rump's administration? I wouldn't be surprised.

by Anonymousreply 243October 10, 2018 12:25 PM

A woman of integrity, determination, compassion, and principles.

by Anonymousreply 244October 10, 2018 12:36 PM

I'm sure I'll get flack for saying this, but Haley is one of the few sane ones, someone who showed reason, in this administration. Now she's going, so trump will probably pick someone who'll go easy on Russia. repubs will go along with it, too.. they have ties with Putin in some way.

by Anonymousreply 245October 10, 2018 12:36 PM

Does her pussy stink?

by Anonymousreply 246October 10, 2018 1:22 PM
[R39] I could see your attraction, she's beautiful and smart, but if you did sleep with her, you'd never be quite able to wash off that Rethuglcan stench afterward! Some things are obviously better left as fantasies!

I think some good lesbionic loving from the right bull-dyke would turn Nikki completely out. She'd be leading Resistance marches down the National Mall in denim, workboots and a white wife-beater.

by Anonymousreply 247October 10, 2018 1:22 PM
Ivanka told me on the phone that she's smart so I believe that she is qualified.
—Susan Collins

Yas, r203, let her have it! Collins should be vilified forever.

by Anonymousreply 248October 10, 2018 1:27 PM

Saw on twitter that some asshole Newspaper, a major news outlet posted a photo of Condoleeza Rice under the caption that "Susan Rice impressed with the enthusiaastic reaction to her comments about possibly running for Senate from Maine. " Sheeeesh!

As for Warren, they're already doping out their strategy to attack her if she runs, just like they are getting ready for Biden. Brad Parscale, Frank Luntz and the hit squad are already on it. Probably started gaming out a strategy and digging for dirt on Bloomberg, too. It doesn't matter. Just remember, no matter who runs they will find something to attack. They will hype and invent a scandal, and make something out of nothing at all. Because it works!!! "E-mails!!!" elicited a pavlovian response from people.. It was ridiculouus. And please let's not forget "Swiftboating."

The attacks will be standard operating procedure. We have seen how they operate. They tell outrageous lies and they twist everything to their advantage. If we haven't yet figured out how to deal with them we don't deserve to win shit. How we deal with it and what kind of relationships the nominees have with the media will be the important thing. I'll tell you one thing: Anyone who comes out in favor of campaign finance reform in any serious way, is going to war with the media. They are the major beneficiaries of the Citizens United decision.

by Anonymousreply 249October 10, 2018 1:41 PM

Why isn't the media, and the Democrats really going after trump, with his recently revealed tax fraud... getting far more money from his father, and burying $$$$$ in phony buildings?? That is something huge and needs to be brought out more and investigated. If it were the other way around, you know it be full tilt scandal and coverage. Why is trump getting away with this shit?? This is what I mean, about the Democrats.. no stomach to fight back, and this is not a light weight development. The repubs go after Democrats for every little thing, and amplify it times 1000.

by Anonymousreply 250October 10, 2018 2:25 PM
Why isn't the media, and the Democrats really going after trump, with his recently revealed tax fraud... getting far more money from his father, and burying $$$$$ in phony buildings??

Because no one cares. Deplorables wouldn't care if he killed someone and Republicans just need any imbecile to advance their agenda. After two years of vicious attacks as "fake news," the 'lamestream' media will not be fooled again. No publicity will be given to any Democratic scandals by CNN/ABC/NBC. 2018-2020 is an all-out media assault on Trump and the Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 251October 10, 2018 2:41 PM

How Finian's Rainbow, r249!

by Anonymousreply 252October 10, 2018 2:46 PM

It's so goddamned frustrating!

by Anonymousreply 253October 10, 2018 2:47 PM

The coverage of the Tax fraud is being covered but very selectively. I think they need to figure out how to reduce it to sound bites so people who watch network news like NBC, CBS and ABC will "get it." I guess I should include CNN too. MSNBC, Maddow, etc are covering it.

Swear to gods I want the October surprised to be Mueller indicting Jared, Donnie Jr. and Papa Drumpf a few days before the midterm.

by Anonymousreply 254October 10, 2018 2:51 PM

And then Ivanka revealing herself to be a horrible succubus and devouring Lindsey Graham!

by Anonymousreply 255October 10, 2018 2:58 PM

250+ comments with plenty of kind words and no one mentions her vicious anti-gay record?

She was determined to enshrine second class status for the gays in SC’s constitution.

A proud bigot like her has no business taking any leadership role.

by Anonymousreply 256October 10, 2018 3:37 PM

CNN's Manu Raju:

"She's going to make a lot of money." -- Trump on Nikki Haley

by Anonymousreply 257October 10, 2018 6:04 PM

Allegedly Haley has a huge amount of debt that a government job will not payoff. She is likely going to seek (and get) a high paying private jobs for a bit and then make a run for the white house at some point.

by Anonymousreply 258October 10, 2018 6:07 PM

Democrats are cut from the same cloth.

Media is a business.

Everything R260 said is true but I'd still do him in a heartbeat.

by Anonymousreply 261October 10, 2018 7:34 PM

R261, you can find him at the Crew Club on the odd Tuesday night (which is the most busy night of the week because it's half-off night) on 14th Street.

by Anonymousreply 262October 10, 2018 7:41 PM

Why so much debt? Her UN job must pay pretty well

by Anonymousreply 263October 10, 2018 7:47 PM

Wasn’t she a governor before that? She’s got dough

She’s gearing up for 2024. The money she wants to get is for her presidential campaign. She’s going to be quietly visiting billionaires and multi millionaires, promising them legislation based on how much money they give her. She coukd easily live on her money, but she wants mega bucks. Also, how is her marriage nowadays? We know she was fucking around when she was governor. No doubt she wants money to arrange some NDAs.

by Anonymousreply 264October 10, 2018 7:56 PM

She made roughly $200,00 a year as governor and $180,000 a year for her U.N. job.

by Anonymousreply 265October 10, 2018 8:00 PM

R265, which is a lot more money in South Carolina than many other parts of the US. Who’s the gambler in this marriage? Nimratha or the husband?

by Anonymousreply 266October 10, 2018 8:02 PM

More on the debt.

From the state.com:

Gov. Nikki Haley said she is doing "my job to uphold the constitution" by opposing a federal lawsuit that seeks to overturn the state's constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.

"The citizens of South Carolina spoke ... they spoke something that I, too, believe, which is marriage should between a man and a woman," Haley told reporters after speaking at an event sponsored by the S.C. Chamber of Commerce in the Isle of Palms. "I’m going to stand by the people of this state, stand by the constitution, I’m going to support it and fight for it every step of the way."

"The citizens of South Carolina spoke ... they spoke something that I, too, believe, which is marriage should between a man and a woman,"

Does Miss Lindsey share her views?

by Anonymousreply 269October 10, 2018 8:53 PM

Didn't she get free housing in NYC for the UN Mission? I thought we had some fancy penthouse apartment for our Ambassador. After all it is an Embassy. So she had free housing, free transportation, and a staff. She also probably had to entertain a lot but maybe she didn't pay the caterers. She worked for Trump so why not.

by Anonymousreply 270October 10, 2018 9:15 PM

R238- They don't necessarily have to be a celebrity as long as they have the charisma of one and can give good speeches. Beto qualifies on both counts.

by Anonymousreply 271October 10, 2018 10:53 PM

Her clothes, hair, and make up and beauty routine are expensive.

by Anonymousreply 272October 10, 2018 11:53 PM

Her benzoyl peroxide budget alone...

by Anonymousreply 273October 11, 2018 12:37 AM

If she had any common sense, decency,or ethics she would never have accepted a job in the Trump WH. And beautiful- no not really. Rough looking skin and lanky greasy looking hair.

by Anonymousreply 274October 11, 2018 12:58 AM

Yeah, r274, I never realized what bad skin she had. It really shows in the photo at OP.

by Anonymousreply 275October 11, 2018 1:06 AM

She resigned because she's thinking about her career. She still has a future as a prominent conservative woman. No womam can stand by Trump with him condeming a sexual assault victim. And I dont believe Dr. Ford, personally. But Trump disparging her like that is ignorant and wholly unpresidential. This is one thing for certain that history wont be kind to Trump about.

by Anonymousreply 276October 11, 2018 1:17 AM
Swear to gods I want the October surprised to be Mueller indicting Jared, Donnie Jr. and Papa Drumpf a few days before the midterm.

No. That would give him opportunity to rally the Deplorables to his defense, and to the polls. Mueller will wait until after midterms.

by Anonymousreply 277October 11, 2018 12:02 PM

So how does the Mueller report get out. The rules a re that he finishes his investigation and he makes a written report to Rosenstein or the AG if it isn't Sessions. It is then up to the Justice Department to decide whether to make it public. But don't they have to report to Congress too? Reporting to Congress would be best, if that's part of the rules. Because if they refuse to make it public, and they send it to Congress it is bound to leak. That's where all the leaks come from. Congressional staff.

by Anonymousreply 278October 11, 2018 12:14 PM

I have a bad feeling about the day after the Mid Terms. I feel ike all hell is going to break lose. I feel like Bill Shine, his communications director, Sean Hannity, Rudy and a couple other cronies including JAred, etc. are all strategizing for how they roll out their activities. Some of it also involves McGahn and McConnell, and Ryan. They probably have three scenarios: "1. If we lose both houses, 2. If we lose one house, 3. If the Dems make some gains but we barely hold on to our majorities."

Congress has a playbook all set for the Lame Duck Session, and the White House has their own plan. Mueller and the Democrats have to be ready for it. I wish someone in McGahn's office or at DOJ would leak out their plans.

by Anonymousreply 279October 11, 2018 12:20 PM

I hated the way Haley read her notes at the UN meetings..delicately turning the pages while unleashed her bile

by Anonymousreply 280October 11, 2018 4:04 PM

Good old Judge Ellis wants to sentence Manafort before the election. He doesn't give a damn if it's bad timing before the election. For once I appreciate him.

by Anonymousreply 281October 11, 2018 4:08 PM

Why would Mueller wait until after the midterms to roll out indictments? He’s a republican. He may want to indict Trumps, but he wants republicans to win. So he might indict before the elections to stimulate the republican voters. Then he can claim he’s not working to help the opposition. “See? I’m not a democrat.”

by Anonymousreply 282October 11, 2018 4:36 PM

FBI almost never makes indictments or arrests within 60 days of an election R282 It is a unspoken rule. It's why people got so mad at Comey, stuff like that really doesn't happen

by Anonymousreply 283October 11, 2018 4:48 PM

It's an open question in this case, though, R283, because any indictments would be against Trump and those in his campaign. Technically, Trump is not up for election this year, so no rule would be broken if Mueller were to issue any additional indictments. Frankly, though, I doubt he will.

by Anonymousreply 284October 11, 2018 4:59 PM

Rosenstein is the conservative Republican. Friend and supporter of Kavanaugh. I bet he made some promises to Trump in order to not get fired. I've felt like the fix is in the last week or so. Always worried about it, but now it really looks like it. Mueller will put out a hell of a report but he needs to wait till next January. Even then - the Senate will do nothing but shrug. The House will do lots of investigations. - Maybe enough to slow the Trumpsters down. But most of the government institutions will be greatly altered.

I am very disheartened. Don't mean to bring everybody down.

by Anonymousreply 285October 11, 2018 6:10 PM
It's why people got so mad at Comey, stuff like that really doesn't happen

Until it does.

And once it does, it means the rules have changed.

by Anonymousreply 286October 11, 2018 6:14 PM

Nickey Haley is a CUNT.

by Anonymousreply 287October 12, 2018 4:41 AM

This seems like it happened a month ago what with Kanye, the market crash and the Saudi’s dismembering a Washington Post correspondent in one of their embassies. Every day a fresh he’ll in Trumpworld.

by Anonymousreply 288October 12, 2018 4:50 AM

Fresh hell (ducking auto spell). And the hurricane. Almost forgot the hurricane.

by Anonymousreply 289October 12, 2018 4:59 AM

Mueller and Rosenstein are old fashioned. Their loyalty is to the constitution of the United States, not the Republican Party. This crap about party loyalty is a fascist requirement of the new putin-led Republican Party.

On topic- tailored in upholstery fabric with a face by rite aid, Nikki is klass all the way.

by Anonymousreply 291October 12, 2018 5:46 AM

Nikki shops at WalMart!

by Anonymousreply 292October 12, 2018 3:46 PM

R291, that's what I was thinking. Some people can be republican and still be appalled at treason. I'm a solid democrat, but if a democrat engages in criminal conduct then they need to be held accountable. Enough of this fucking corruption.

by Anonymousreply 293October 12, 2018 3:53 PM

Does this have anything to do with the slain Saudi journalist?

by Anonymousreply 294October 12, 2018 3:54 PM
