I always think it's a sign of phoniness. That it manufactured. Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman use to do it all the time. Why do celebrities always think people buy into that fabrication.
I once read a quote from a Hollywood insider that said if you see a couple dialing the red carpet PDA up to 11, the lawyers are probably licking the envelopes on their divorce papers.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 10, 2018 11:48 PM |
My neighbor and his girlfriend almost skip together holding hands. It’s very bizarre. I also see lots of straight couples holding hands in grocery stores. What’s that about? Straight privilege.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 10, 2018 11:48 PM |
They think it makes their bearding more believable.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 10, 2018 11:50 PM |
Any public display of affection that takes place in front of two or more photographers is guaranteed to be fake.
Nobody feels focused on their feelings for their partner when someone else is sticking a camera into your face!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 10, 2018 11:55 PM |
Don’t get me started on the ones who grab boobs, asses and crotches in front of the cameras. Have some damn class.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 10, 2018 11:55 PM |
Are we talking about only celebrity PDA?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 10, 2018 11:56 PM |
Well I assumed so from the original post.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 11, 2018 12:04 AM |
Oh. Alright.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 11, 2018 12:06 AM |
I hate PDA with regular folks as well- except when I am staring at a guy and he kiss his girlfriend in front of me. Then I find it especially funny- so you aren't gay cause you kissed a girl!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 11, 2018 12:22 AM |
“Used to”, OP, not “use to”.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 11, 2018 12:24 AM |
Some people are just physically affectionate.
R9 It's double funny when you remember bisexuals exist. Kissing a girl doesn't mean you can't kiss a guy. But I guess those guys are too worried to be logical.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 11, 2018 12:27 AM |
Case in point: this was 1 month before they announced their divorce.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 11, 2018 12:43 AM |
[quote]Some people are just physically affectionate.
Yes, but there’s a difference between being affectionate and the exaggerated handsiness that so many couples display.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 11, 2018 12:19 PM |
R13 who is that?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 11, 2018 12:52 PM |
R15 Taylor Swift & Tom Hiddleston in his infamous “I heart T.S.” shirt.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 11, 2018 12:56 PM |
Phew, R11, for a minute I thought nobody would mention bisexuals in a completely irrelevant way
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 12, 2018 5:20 PM |
PDA is childish, tacky, attention-seeking behavior. It annoys the shit out of me, gay or straight. When it's done for cameras it's especially cringey.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 14, 2018 12:03 AM |
Le bump
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 24, 2018 4:08 PM |
In Italy they are usually hanging all over each other.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 24, 2018 4:19 PM |
Celebrities, R23? Or people in general?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 24, 2018 4:21 PM |
Nicks beard is growing in nicely
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 24, 2018 5:41 PM |
Nick and that girl look ridiculous.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 24, 2018 6:36 PM |
R26 Girl? She’s well into her thirties.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 24, 2018 6:38 PM |
Clever, R25.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 2, 2018 10:44 PM |
Aaron Rodgers and Olivia Munn own this thread.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 3, 2018 12:06 AM |
Wrong, R29. Aaron and Danica own this thread.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 3, 2018 12:24 AM |
Are there fraus out there convinced by Nick and Priyanka? I mean, does anyone really think those two are in love? Who are they fooling?!
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 3, 2018 12:30 AM |
Pri is THIRSTAY and Nick is desperate to look straight, so I'd say they are a 'real' couple; they both address the real (admittedly shallow) needs of the other.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 3, 2018 2:17 AM |
I’m sure it’s a mutually beneficial arrangement R32, but I doubt it’s a real romance. That said, I guess a lot of celebrity culture is for show.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 3, 2018 12:17 PM |
[quote]That said, I guess celebrity culture is entirely for show.
Fixed it for you.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 3, 2018 7:01 PM |
PDAs of average people can be gross enough to observe. It quickly turns pathetic when one (or both) of them hold up their phones showing new selfies being uploaded to their Instagram and Snapchat feeds.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 3, 2018 7:09 PM |
Thanks R34, can’t argue.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 3, 2018 7:18 PM |
Even true love has its moments of alternative messaging.
The glamorous Sophia and Caitlyn:
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 3, 2018 7:27 PM |
Are Caitlyn and Sophia holding hands & kissing in public? They seem to seek attention by being coy about their relationship.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 5, 2018 3:10 AM |
That Sophia creature looks like a Kardashian, which is very troubling.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 5, 2018 3:32 AM |
People who stand in the middle of the sidewalk and eat each other's face are very annoying.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 5, 2018 3:42 AM |
R39 my thoughts exactly. CREEPY.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 5, 2018 4:56 AM |
jealous, bitches?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 5, 2018 6:17 AM |
Adults can choose to be with whomever they want. That said, making-out, fondling, displaying too much other physical behaviors such as grinding and tonguing action, in public, are rude and frankly, nasty. Often is done for show.

[quote]People who stand in the middle of the sidewalk and eat each other's face are very annoying.
I always want to keep going full tilt and crash right into them. Like a very one-sided game of Red Rover.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 5, 2018 3:38 PM |
I cringe at any Heteros doing this, even in domestic settings.
My sister and her Egyptian bf came over recently and were holding hands and playing footsie at dinner. Later they were canoodling and thigh-groping on the couch. They’re in College and this is a new first relationship for the so I guess it’s understandable, but so fucking awkward and uncomfortable for me.

by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 5, 2018 4:02 PM |
If Nick doesn't look thrilled, it's because Priyanka does not have a penis.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 5, 2018 4:06 PM |
McTurtle & Miss Chao get a pass on this when visiting Disney World.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 5, 2018 7:07 PM |
R48 Not a visual I want in my head. Ew.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 8, 2018 11:28 PM |
With awards season coming up, we should get some red carpet PDA gold.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | October 14, 2018 3:25 PM |
It's not just a couples thing. The only time my narcissist mother would show me affection was in public, lavish phony affection to make herself look good. At home, try to hug her and she just stood there.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | October 14, 2018 3:55 PM |
Has anyone ever noticed that even if a woman is way more famous than a man, in pictures, she's hanging on to the man like she's a koala bear and he's the tree?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 14, 2018 5:22 PM |
PDA = PUBLICIST DISPLAY OF AFFECTION
by Anonymous | reply 53 | October 14, 2018 6:02 PM |
R53 You win.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | October 18, 2018 12:35 AM |
Holding hands is one thing; making out in a booth in a restaurant is another thing entirely.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | October 18, 2018 12:42 AM |
Also selfishness.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | October 18, 2018 12:42 AM |
Hailey & the Biebs are already dialing it up. And he called her “Hunny Buns Punkin” on Instagram.
This will not end well.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | November 11, 2018 10:45 PM |
My husband is very PDA - as well as very affectionate at home. The PDA is tough for me because I have social anxiety. But I also appreciate it’s his expression of love. He just doesn’t get anxious in public like me. We’ve had debates over it. But ultimately I feel lucky I have such an affectionate partner (surprisingly he is Latin and I am North European).

Did you mean “unsurprisingly?”
by Anonymous | reply 59 | December 13, 2018 11:25 PM |
You're silly, OP. Obviously, it's to jiggle the knob on the toilet of the paparazzi. It's a gigantic pap smear.

Relevance.

It’s awards season. There has to be some cringey red carpet PDA out there. Who’s been embarrassing themselves?
by Anonymous | reply 62 | February 2, 2019 9:45 PM |
I live in Paris and it is omnipresent, the stereotype is real. For example, I have seen a young couple walk down the sidewalk while making out. The man had one eye open to steer, the woman was in some kind of spit swapping trust fall.
I bring this up because I recently had American friends visit Paris on their honeymoon and said they felt put to shame by the PDA all around them!
by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 2, 2019 10:01 PM |
It can be the other way around R52. Andre Agassi and Brooke Shields were once interviewed by Joan Rivers on the red carpet and never one to mince words, Joan said to her "he's hanging on to you for dear life!".
