Gay Man Turned Away From London Bear Club for Wearing High Heels

A gay man was reportedly denied entry to a gay nightclub in London for wearing thigh-high faux leather boots with four-inch heels.

A bouncer at XXL London, which caters to the bear and leather communities, allegedly turned away Pavel Vacek because of the club’s strict “no femininity policy.”

The bouncer “wasn’t aggressive,” Vacek, 33, tells Gay Star News. “He said it was club policy that you can’t wear makeup, wigs, high heels or anything feminine. He said: ‘We don’t allow femininity.’”

“I think he was just doing his job,” Vacek continues. “I was upset of course but I wasn’t blaming the bouncer. It’s just the general attitude of the club.”

“If you wear heels, it doesn’t mean you’re feminine,” argues Vacek, who wore his boots to accessorize tight black jeans and a tank top.

“Who says heels are just for women? You can be masculine and super buff and wear heels. I think it’s sexier. It’s not a written rule.”

“When you have heels on, people look at you. It’s something special, and something different from trainers. I think they’re hot.”

Vacek says he does not plan to return to XXL: “I’m quite open-minded and I like open-minded environments. If there’s strict rules for something, I don’t like it.”

Does Big Ears Tovey own this club?

by Anonymousreply 1August 18, 2018 10:32 PM

Fats but no femmes.

by Anonymousreply 2August 18, 2018 10:38 PM

This is what passes for "news"? A bar/restaurant happens to have a dress code, and someone's upset about that?

by Anonymousreply 3August 18, 2018 10:57 PM

Bear wearing high heels: The last frontier. When will discrimination against the most vulnerable minority even end?

by Anonymousreply 4August 18, 2018 11:56 PM

Maybe the heals identified as loafers.

by Anonymousreply 5August 19, 2018 12:05 AM

*heels

by Anonymousreply 6August 19, 2018 12:06 AM

It's so that the club can stay a gay club and not be invaded by straight women. I do wonder though, would a super butch woman be allowed in? If the high heels man wants to troll the club he could find one and recruit her to try, lmao!

A few years ago friends of ours were turned away from a club in London for wearing sneakers. They didn't go crying about it to everybody online. They went to another club.

R8 sick of the whining about the whining/victim mentality.....

by Anonymousreply 9August 19, 2018 3:00 AM

Tough shit, R9

by Anonymousreply 10August 19, 2018 3:06 AM

Where else would you, r8 and r9, go to whine about anything, other than DL?

by Anonymousreply 11August 19, 2018 3:06 AM

R10 eat shit

My Victimhood is BIGGER than yours.

by Anonymousreply 14August 20, 2018 8:30 AM

Why are guys into kink always so whiney?

by Anonymousreply 15August 20, 2018 9:44 AM

I used to work at this club. The owner is a total and utter cunt.

by Anonymousreply 16August 20, 2018 10:43 AM

Is it a sex club?

by Anonymousreply 17August 20, 2018 10:54 AM

Tired of inconsequential semi trans people trying to push their somewhat mentally questionable thought processes as discrimination.

by Anonymousreply 18August 20, 2018 11:03 AM

I worked there 10 years ago. There was a backroom, but it's not a sex-club per se. There's far more space given over to dancing than fucking.

by Anonymousreply 19August 20, 2018 11:03 AM

This proves guys into the whole leather/rubber scene are usually bitchy little girls playing macho dress up.

Then why is the music set a mash of Britney, Cristina, Gaga, Jessie J, and Kylie remixes that make the bears all squeal? I've never seen more incongruity between the clientele and the soundtrack in my gay clubbing life. The boys are XL, but the vibe is way too XX for me.

by Anonymousreply 22August 24, 2018 10:19 AM

I get it. Take your fat femme self elsewhere!

by Anonymousreply 23August 24, 2018 10:23 AM

LITERAL GENOCIDE.

by Anonymousreply 24August 24, 2018 10:24 AM

I'm glad he is taking it ok, not like Sarah Sanders getting thrown out of a restaurant.

by Anonymousreply 25August 24, 2018 10:28 AM

It's a massive non-story. Even he can see it was stupid to try to get into XXL in heels.

by Anonymousreply 26August 24, 2018 10:32 AM

I wore a speedo, American flag t-shirt with sleeves cut off and white clogs to Les Alliés and they would not seat me. I was OK with that. Read more of my story here.

Is he a top?

by Anonymousreply 28August 24, 2018 10:45 AM

This is major, and I'm surprised with Brexit and the potential forced euro bear migration back to the continent that it's not getting more coverage.

Yes it is, you tranny freak!

by Anonymousreply 34August 30, 2018 8:20 AM

Wearing heels does not make one a tranny, wtf! I feel like we are regressing so much.

by Anonymousreply 35September 2, 2018 6:34 PM

The are really ugly shoes - If they were more fabulous I doubt there would have been any problem. I wonder what the rest of his outfit looked like.

by Anonymousreply 36September 2, 2018 6:57 PM

This is not a new practice. In the 80s and 90s, leather clubs were routinely turning away guys wearing polo shirts, tennis shoes etc.

The whole thing is a costume party to begin with. No harm in requiring costumes of the appropriate theme.

by Anonymousreply 37September 2, 2018 7:01 PM

I suspect as someone mentioned up thread that it is a way of turning away straight women on a night out. You wouldn’t be allowed to turn women away for the simple fact they are female but dress codes are allowed and if strictly adhered to would indeed stop many women from going in.

by Anonymousreply 38September 2, 2018 8:02 PM

Many are easy bottoms, but many femmes are worthless, unsexy trash anyway.

by Anonymousreply 39September 2, 2018 10:32 PM

Just you, R33. It’s a shame as r13 and r21 are the highlights of the DL. I spit out my coffee twice!

by Anonymousreply 43October 10, 2018 5:17 PM

No one likes a gentleman who dresses like a trollop.

by Anonymousreply 44October 10, 2018 5:21 PM

Maybe they were just concerned that he'd trip in his heels, and sue the club.

by Anonymousreply 45October 10, 2018 5:41 PM

Clubs can set their own rules, simple as that. And most have the list of no-no's posted at the entrance.

by Anonymousreply 46October 10, 2018 5:42 PM

as well he should be.

by Anonymousreply 47October 10, 2018 5:50 PM

Notice how those presumptuous people are almost always, MTF or feminine gay men. What the common link here?

by Anonymousreply 48October 10, 2018 5:56 PM

by Anonymousreply 49May 21, 2019 1:21 AM

Stealth pro-T, woe is us thread.

by Anonymousreply 50May 21, 2019 11:53 AM

Maybe the high-heel wearing guy should have told the bouncer that he was a member of the cast of Kinky Boots and he was wearing part of his show costume...
