I think that their dad giving Meghan everything and treating her like gold while shuffling Samantha and the brother aside to live with their own crazy mother was not conducive to Samantha growing up sane.

You make some valid points, R189. Tom Markle Jr. never misses an opportunity to complain that their father put Meghan first, basically shoving them aside. That would hurt no matter how squared away and tucked in you are.

r189 she probably couldn't invite some of the relatives without inviting other ones she didn't want to invite. And it doesn't sound like she was very close to much of her family.

r189 Samantha is ~20 years older than Meghan, I seriously doubt her father focusing on Meghan more when she was a child that had anything to do with her crazy - she would have been fully grown and developed by that time.

Given the age gap I don't think Daddy favoring MM caused Samantha's issues. I also take her claims of favoritism with a large grain of salt. I think Samantha had ambitions when she was young. Samantha didn't realize her ambitions and MM has been more successful. She's jellous.
