Such fun, a lovely crowd. If you watch until the end you'll see the fashionable puppets interact with the male guests.
This freaks the shit out of me.

She may have only been a puppet, but she knew how to dress.

That was cool! I laughed at the puppet at the end stroking that guy's head.

I have never heard of Lady Penelope before. How cool! She looks like the models in the puppet show.

I like the music in the video. So nostalgic.

Wonderful video OP. Brings such fond memories not only of Lady Penelope as seen elsewhere in this thread but of various marionette shows that one would see touring. I doubt very much if these "simple" pleasures are much valued in today's environment. After a quick search I was pleased to see that Bob Baker's Marionettes in the states still seems to be going Strong.

Lady Penelope was based on (and voiced by) Sylvia Anderson who also designed all the costumes for those various marionette series, as well as Space 1999. It does make sense that her character would be rather fashionable.

Wow thanks so the info I always wondered who Lady Penelope was based on. Was Sylvia Anderson married to the creator?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 19, 2018 8:12 AM |
Yes at the time she was married to Gerry Anderson, then divorced in ‘81. She passed away in ‘96.
