Why does retin a make your face peel, but not your hands or chest?

by Anonymousreply 18August 20, 2018 7:50 AM

It's not the "retin a". Your body has just started to reject your face.

Har har, har har. Oh how witty r1 is.

(eyeroll)

Did you prep all three areas equally? I'm using a product now, applying it with a gauze pad, and it doesn't seem to have any effect on my face--a tiny bit of flaking--but my fingertips are peeling.

by Anonymousreply 3August 5, 2018 1:02 PM

Yes, I do r3. The face peels a lot, which I expected, but no peeling on the hands and chest whatsoever. Strange.

by Anonymousreply 4August 5, 2018 2:26 PM

shit, I lost my answer. I don't know OP. Maybe you skin is thicker in those places. I've used high strength products with barely a flake whereas half the other reviews for the same stuff are claiming that their face peeled off.

WTF - why are you using Retin A on your chest ?!? It’s meant to make your face skin peel -it’s flaking off the old skin. Just use moisturizer during the day and apply Retin A only at night (when you’re not in the sun).

by Anonymousreply 8August 7, 2018 2:17 PM

R8 the dermatologist recommended that I use it on my upper chest.

by Anonymousreply 9August 7, 2018 3:29 PM

Interesting - I guess as an anti-carcinogen as that is where I got most of my basal cell skin cancers.

Do any of you skin bitches use "Skin Actives" products?

by Anonymousreply 11August 18, 2018 3:04 PM

What did your dermatologist say about the peeling?

by Anonymousreply 12August 19, 2018 3:15 AM

I haven't asked about it, but was told retin a was good to use on the neck, chest, and hands, as well as the face.

by Anonymousreply 13August 19, 2018 5:51 AM

r13 must be to new to CDL skin threads.

by Anonymousreply 14August 19, 2018 11:44 AM

Why do you say that r14?

by Anonymousreply 15August 20, 2018 12:18 AM

Can I use Retin A if I'm really fair?

by Anonymousreply 16August 20, 2018 12:21 AM

by Anonymousreply 17August 20, 2018 12:23 AM
