What is your favorite fruit flavored soda?

I had a Nehii grape soda in the bottle earlier and it was the tastiest thing. Hadn't had one in years.

Yes, I type fat. Now that's out of the way, what is your fave?

by Anonymousreply 102September 8, 2018 2:26 PM

Cherry-Lime soda is the best.

Then Squirt (Grapefruit) and Cherry Squirt.

by Anonymousreply 1June 20, 2018 4:07 AM

If you've never had cherry-lime soda, you're missing out.

by Anonymousreply 5June 20, 2018 5:08 AM

Orange Crush, but haven't had one since I was a kid.

by Anonymousreply 6June 20, 2018 5:14 AM

I completely gave up soda about 20 years ago, so I'm not really qualified, but...I'll pick up a 6-pack of these if I catch them on sale.

Yeah, I really like it, but one is a "treat" I won't really be in the mood for for another couple weeks.

Vodka and cranberry.

by Anonymousreply 12June 21, 2018 5:59 AM

Anyone remember the apple soda Aspen in the late 70s.?

by Anonymousreply 13June 21, 2018 6:08 AM

Apple soda sounds nice! (I'm non-soda mec upthread...) And this past xmas, my sister and mom got these really good Martinelli Sparkling Apple Ciders...which were fantastic!

Yeah yeah..."sparkling cider" is not a soda, but...they am so tasty! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

They're tasty and sweet and fizzy, like soda for grownups.

by Anonymousreply 14June 21, 2018 6:22 AM

When I was a teenager I loved Hansens Grapefruit Soda.

It seemed unbearably sweet when I was in my 20s.

I've always loved Orangina, but haven't had one in years.

Now that I'm old I get excited about iced coffee. Coffee beans are like fruit, right?

by Anonymousreply 15June 21, 2018 6:55 AM

The only one I ever drank regularly was Diet Apple Slice, back in 1984 or so.

BITD: Franks' Orange or Black Cherry Wishniak(no longer produced) Schweppes' Bitter Lemon(alas, not available at retail in the USA)

Today: Not a fan of fruit-flavored sodas anymore, but if offered a Cherry Coke I'll accept.

Candy Apple Faygo

by Anonymousreply 18June 21, 2018 10:02 AM

Fresca - it really adds a kick to my fat typing.

by Anonymousreply 19June 21, 2018 10:09 AM

I love Cheerwine, which is a wild cherry-flavored soda made with real sugar - I guess it's sort of a regional thing but I'm able to find it in CA at upscale grocery stores with no problem. Also strawberry Crush.

There are a number of apple sodas being produced. I know Jones Soda makes a green apple flavor that is very tasty, and there are also some from Mexico that are available as well, like Manzanita Sol and Sidral Mundet.

by Anonymousreply 20June 21, 2018 10:26 AM

Peach Fresca, which vanished from Long Island, earlier this year.

by Anonymousreply 21June 21, 2018 10:28 AM

I love grape soda, on lots of ice. But I know I’m going to hell for drinking it.

by Anonymousreply 22June 21, 2018 10:37 AM

Pineapple Cream Soda and Dry Grape Ginger Ale which I cannot find anywhere now

by Anonymousreply 23June 21, 2018 10:43 AM

When I was a kid, I really liked Tiger Red cream soda. I haven't seen it in years. There is a Barq's creme soda, that is similar. Now, I tend to like citrus flavors , like diet Mt.Dew.

by Anonymousreply 24June 21, 2018 10:46 AM

I thought fruit flavored sodas were strictly an African American thing

by Anonymousreply 25June 21, 2018 12:10 PM

Is ginger a fruit?

by Anonymousreply 26June 21, 2018 12:46 PM

Agree with Orange Crush, but only if you can find it in the dark amber bottles.

by Anonymousreply 27June 21, 2018 12:49 PM

Peach Crush is awesome, but almost impossible to find out of the deep South. For readily available sodas I love Fresca. It's great with Stoli Strasberi.

by Anonymousreply 28June 21, 2018 12:51 PM

Fanta orange soda. Even better if you can still find it in the glass bottles.

by Anonymousreply 29June 21, 2018 12:54 PM

Nehi Peach. It's the most refreshing soda I've ever had.

by Anonymousreply 31June 21, 2018 11:25 PM

We never had soda in the house when I was growing up so the only time I ever drank it was at friends and relatives' houses. Now as an adult I still rarely drink soda which means my answer is pretty meaningless but here it is anyway:

1) Jarritos Tamarind soda - a co-worker introduced me to it a few years ago and It was good

2) Stewart's Black Cherry Wishniak - I discovered this when I moved to Philadelphia, I probably only drink it once every year or two but it's good with cheesesteaks.

The way Coke in little glass bottles tasted when I was a kid. It had of course pure cane sugar in it, but it must have had something else, maybe more real cola. I've tried Mexican and Passover Coke which are both made with pure cane sugar, but something is missing.

by Anonymousreply 33June 22, 2018 1:34 AM

Black Cherry soda is the best soda.

I really miss Shasta Black Cherry... it was my favorite as a kid.

by Anonymousreply 34June 22, 2018 3:37 AM

There was an actual study worldwide that found black people everywhere (Africa, the U.S., South America, the Caribbean) have a weakness for fruit flavoured beverages and, especially, grape and blackcurrant. Blackcurrant Fanta is the best selling soda in Africa, beating Coke, Sprite and regular Fanta.

by Anonymousreply 41June 22, 2018 4:55 AM

Fresca, which I haven't had in years. Also grape and black cherry.

And while it isn't a fruit flavored soda, I recently discovered a butterscotch cream soda that I really like.

by Anonymousreply 42June 22, 2018 4:56 AM

r41 I know that Mountain Dew Code Red was geared to the "urban market". I love fruity sodas but am about as WASP as you can get. I will have to look for black current. I also like orange Sunkist.

Boylan’s makes really good grape, orange, and Black cherry soda. I prefer the grape!

Also, I've never even HEARD of "Peach Crush"... it sounds amazing.

[R53] They used to sell Capt'n Eli's Blueberry Soda at the Bristol Farms on Wilshire in Santa Monica, along with a number of other not commonly seen out here sodas (e.g., Big Red, BubbleUp). I loved it, and at $1.59 a bottle I considered it a fun treat and would pick up a couple of bottles now and then. Unfortunately, seemingly without warning, they stopped selling all of the specialty sodas; although, now that I think about it, I really haven't scoured the store/asked anyone to see if they simply stopped stocking them in the referigerator section across from the deli (derp, maybe I'll remember to look next time). In any case, thanks for the link!

by Anonymousreply 56June 23, 2018 8:13 AM

Snapple used to have a line of sodas, and their Cherry Lime soda was by far the best soda I've ever had.

I was sad when they discontinued it.

I love Grape Fanta...you don't see it much in England but they have a soda dispenser at 5 Guys here, where they have it ...PLUS tons of American ice. Such a treat when I go there.

Sometimes I also treat myself to a little taster of Cherry Fanta as well, but I don't like it quite as much.

Diet Sunkist lemonade (sparkling ) has caffeine. I love diet mango coke, Hansen’s diet strawberry-kiwi, Black cherry and tangerine lime. I plan to take sugar free mango syrup and add club soda. before I quit sugar I had a fruit and lavender Italian syrup that was awesome...

by Anonymousreply 73June 29, 2018 3:10 AM

I remember from the 1960s a type of bottled pop called Ma's Old Fashioned. They had really good root beer and orange soda, the orange soda actually had a little bit of pulp and was delicious, so unlike the shit they have now all made by giant corporations usually containing god knows what and high fructose corn syrup instead of sugar. There were also grape and cherry flavored soda pops that were a nice change from Coke, 7-Up or Pepsi. It seems to me that Dr. Pepper then tasted better than the slop they expect people to drink now. Pop tasted better then and it was usually out of a glass bottle, apparently very little of that exists today--corporatism wins out yet again. I drink none of that stuff now and haven't for over 40 years--the closest I come now is ginger ale in a gin drink (gin bucks) or tonic water in a gin and tonic.

Fresca. It is the only thing I have knowingly consumed in the last 25 years that has that fake sugar neurotoxin that tastes like antifreeze and has been linked to auto-immune disorders. I think they have changed the formula since I was a kid as I haven’t had it for a long time and it tastes different to me now. I both love it and simultaneously feel like it is poisoning me. Why can we not have a cane sugar Fresca?
