If this "Italian populism" is true, and we seriously doubt that it is, then there is hope that the satanic monster ECB/EU/EURO may be numbering it's days// But the master criminals who own the ECB have already murdered 100 million people in WWl and WWll to acheive their dream and they are not going to surrender it. They have loyal and obscenely overpaid stooges like MerkelMacron.

Civilized personal conduct requires a baseline level of intelligence. Italians fit the criteria, Sub-Saharan Africans simply do not, except for a few isolated Nigerian tribes and rare, exceptional individuals. And the children of those exceptional individuals are very likely to regress to the mean in the area of intelligence and behavior and impulse control.

Actually R35, I had my DNA tested and it is in fact Neanderthal and African. Truth be told, we all came from Africa according to the DNA but we also mixed with Neanderthal as we migrated to Europe. So most people have 1 to 4% Neanderthal. Africans who never left Africa are the only exceptions.

Italy's new interior minister threatened to bar rescue ships from docking in the country's ports after Malta refused to take hundreds of migrants, reports say.

Matteo Salvini sent a letter to the Maltese authorities saying he would 'be forced to close Italy's ports' if the 629 migrants saved by the French charity SOS Mediterranee weren't allowed to land at Malta's capital Valletta.

Meanwhile a spokesman for the Maltese government said that 'Malta was neither the coordinating nor the competent authority' in the rescue.

The rescue ship's crew pulled 229 migrants from the water or from traffickers' unseaworthy boats on Saturday night, including 123 unaccompanied children and seven pregnant women. 'Our sole objective is to bring the people we've rescued, in difficult conditions yesterday, to a port of safety,' the group said in a statement.

Leader of the anti-migrant League party Mr Salvini, also deputy prime minister, tweeted yesterday: 'Starting today, Italy, too, begins to say NO to the trafficking of human beings, NO to the business of clandestine immigration'.

Europe is fixing to burst at the seams. Between the rich and the poor as well as "migration" the European states are at each others throats like hasn't been seen since the First World War. Most of these "migrants" are able bodied men capable of fighting for their nation. These persons are not "migrants" nor "immigrants." They are foreign nationals trying to enter a sovereign country without authorization. The real question is why the boats that pick them up in the Mediterranean take them to Europe instead of taking them back to Africa. As long as the rescue boats take them to Europe, they will keep coming in droves. It will only end when all Africans have successfully managed to get themselves into Europe. And then they will replicate the African chaos in Europe.

by Anonymousreply 60June 14, 2018 12:07 PM

Not "migrants", OP. "Illegal migrants". Some of whom got there by ship, crossing the sea border illegally.

The Italians have a legal right to refuse them entry, or to send them back to their home countries.

The illegal migrants do not have a legal right to demand entry to Italy, or the right to permanent residence in Italy. Unless they go through the proper legal process first. That process is the same for everyone applying for a work visa or asylum to Italy - those illegal corner-cutters should not take precedence over everyone else who is already waiting in line.

by Anonymousreply 61June 14, 2018 12:27 PM

Why don’t the French take them? Finders, keepers.

by Anonymousreply 72June 14, 2018 4:15 PM

From the linked article at OP: “However, Italian officials say 13,500 migrants have been registered so far this year.“

In six months, this one country has taken enough migrants (that they know of) equal to the population of Nashua, NH.

I think they’ve had sufficient.

Today on The View

The View had a spirited debate about the nature of immigration.

“Whatever happened to give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses?” Whoopi Goldberg added.

“I disagree with a lot of what everyone is saying,” Meghan McCain said. “I believe in comprehensive immigration reform, I always have. I believe in the idea that we are all God’s children, I believe in what you just read on the Statue of Liberty. I also believe that we are a nation of borders and laws. A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation, according to Ronald Reagan.”

“What President [Donald] Trump ran on is what he is enforcing,” McCain continued. “You can’t be surprised that when you have the most hard line immigration candidate of my lifetime who runs on hard line immigration and the economy and ends up winning, that this is what happens.”

“It’s why voting is so important, and I think sometimes when we’re sitting in a beautiful studio in the middle of Manhattan, you forget what’s really happening on the border,” she added.

by Anonymousreply 77June 14, 2018 6:53 PM

OMG R77! Did you type all that out.

5 minutes of that trash is 4 minutes too long.

by Anonymousreply 78June 15, 2018 12:28 AM

Screw Italy. It's another nasty, grimy European nation with a hygenically challenged populace. Rome and Venice are such dirty cities...plus there's too much influence from the Vatican. Sardinia is the only decent part of the country and that's because it's an island separate from the mainland. They should declare independence from Shitaly!

by Anonymousreply 79June 15, 2018 4:23 PM

R77 Anyone who uses that saying from the Statue of Liberty plaque, to justify illegal & legal immigration, first needs to be slapped upside the head.

Then they need to be told that our laws are not dictated by a plaque 100+ yrs old & that if present day policy is to be dictated by 100+ yr old attitudes, then women arent allowed to vote today.

by Anonymousreply 80June 15, 2018 4:34 PM

"Those people belong in their own countries!!"

by Anonymousreply 81June 15, 2018 4:59 PM

This migrant issue is such a clusterfuck. European countries are at each others' throats in a way they haven't been in decades.

by Anonymousreply 82June 15, 2018 5:06 PM

Again, we in the West need to demand that our governments stop messing around in other countries. Some of the refugees are legitimately fleeing the wars that the US led and the Israel lobby provided.

I love how all the Zionists on here are blaming the Muslims when it was Zionist influence on the US government that led to a lot of the chaos in the Middle East.

The solution is not mass migration because that's not good for anyone, not the US/ Latin America and not Europe/the Middle East and Africa.

The solution lies with us holding our own governments accountable for our horrific actions across the globe.

by Anonymousreply 90June 15, 2018 7:56 PM

Where is the source for your numbers R86?

And I'm not blaming Italy for the wars per se (Although I did spend some time there and found it quite racist) I'm saying that we in "the West" do terrible stuff to other countries then refuse to accept the consequences.

Blame for the wars should be squarely on the US/Israels' shoulders, as well as the governments of the countries who joined the coalitions, and the citizens (not all) who supported them.

R90, I would suggest you read "The Israel Lobby & US Foreign Policy" by Walt & Mearsheimer, but also read Netanyahoo's manifesto, "A Clean Break A New Strategy for Securing the Realm" by the Wurmsers, Feith, Perle and others.

Israel, and its control of US foreign policy is the reason there is chaos in the Middle East. It would be in our and everyone else's best interests to act in good faith with every country, as Washington envisioned, but we don't. In regards to Middle East policy, we allow Israel and its fan club in the US to be the tail that wags our dog with disastrous consequences. One of which is this mass migration to Europe that is destabilizing it as well as the countries the migrants are emigrating from.

by Anonymousreply 91June 15, 2018 8:05 PM

^^ Too bad most of these migrants come from parts of Africa that have nothing to do with US nor Israeli policy. Most arent even involved in military conflicts.

Senegal, Ghana, Chad, Cameroon.....

Relax assholes. Those Italians are part Arab and North African but there's also a lot of Norman in there as well.

I guess you don't like stone statue fountains on a postage stamp size piece of land? They're like that because they know they're white adjacent deep down inside. It's always the darkie whites who are ardent racists. They keep their cars clean, though.

R119, you might have the integrity of mentioning the islamic conquest and the brutal beyond words muslim occupation of Spain, Sicily, Southern Italy, and Greece (I could list more). The Spanish fought for 700 years to get the bastards out, that tells you the truth of the so-called Andalusian paradise. The collapse of the Byzantine Empire wasn't caused by the Barbarians, it was the islamic conquest.

It is not racism not to want a violent, intolerant, fascist, supremacist ideology in one's country, some people know the past and are willing to confront the present. Some interesting reading......

I wish I knew how to link on a phone, but even if I could, the article I read was from the New Yorker, whose archives are limited to subscribers.

These Muslim troops were Allies, under command of the Free French. They took heavy casualties in liberating central Italy, but none of the locals honor them or their cemeteries because the survivors treated the area villages as spoils of war.

R125, I'm curious as well. This person seems to have been tortured by the ginzos around here. The Howard Beach thing is old. Even a decade ago it was all mixing in, especially at the eateries. Can't really think of any active Italian neighborhoods think O'Day. Just a few tacky blocks in Queens and Brooklyn. They've lost most neighborhoods to blacks and some to hipsters. Most have moved on to Staten and Long Island. Jersey. They're mixing in with white catholics. Where could you find predominately Italian neighborhoods that aren't more than three blocks in NYC?

by Anonymousreply 126June 16, 2018 6:07 AM

[quote]These Muslim troops were Allies, under command of the Free French.

There were a few Muslims who fought with the Allies/Free French against the Axis in North Africa. Some did fight in Italy with the Free French. Some, mainly Moroccan Gourmiers, targeted civilian women and girls (as well as a few men and boys) in the rural area between Naples and Rome, raping and murdering them. But the vast majority of Muslims fought for and supported Hitler and the Axis powers.

MADRID (Reuters) - Spain's new socialist government promised on Friday it would restore free healthcare for undocumented migrants, a right removed by the former administration as part of cost-cutting.

The move is the latest migrant-friendly initiative by the government of Pedro Sanchez, who offered on Monday to take in a rescue ship that was drifting in the Mediterranean sea with 629 migrants on board. Italy and Malta had refused to let it dock.

Truly dumb comparison, R132. The migrants want free benefits and to islamize western countries. Those aboard the St. Louis were trying to escape annihilation (which, BTW, annihilation of the Jews is ordered in the koran by the islamic god and preached by imams in mosques throughout the world but you are too unaware to know this, OP). There was no Jewish state when the St Louis was turned away from ports. There are 57 muslim countries these "migrants" can go to where they can practice their medieval religion.

Some people have no critical thinking skills and are completely ignorant of history, even recent history. That is you OP.

by Anonymousreply 140June 17, 2018 12:41 AM

The most important thing about the St Louis is Justin Trudeau got to cry some more.

In May 2018, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the Government of Canada would offer a formal apology in the country's House of Commons for its role in the fate of the ship's passengers.

Spain is not as stupid as R130 portrays.

Spain 'accepts French offer' to receive migrants aboard Aquarius

Spain says it has accepted an offer from France to take in some of the 630 migrants rescued by the Aquarius ship off Libya and turned away by Italy.

The Spanish Deputy Prime Minister Carmen Calvo said the French government would work together with Spain to handle the arrival of the migrants.

They are scheduled to dock in Valencia on Sunday.

Madrid said that those migrants who expressed a wish to go to France would be allowed to do so.

The fate of the ship caused a diplomatic row between Italy and France, with French President Emmanuel Macron accusing Italy of "irresponsibility" for turning it away.

Italy, meanwhile, under its tough-talking new Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, says it is unfair that countries on the frontline of the EU have had to carry most of the burden of handling the migrant influx.

On Friday, Mr Conte and Mr Macron agreed the current system must be reformed.

Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has adopted a migrant-friendly stance since taking up his post two weeks ago.

The migrants aboard the Aquarius spent 20 hours in overcrowded rubber dinghies before being rescued by the Aquarius off the Libyan coast. They have since spent a week aboard the rescue ship inrough seas - with many aboard suffering seasickness.

The migrants will be met by a team of 2,300 people, primarily health workers, when the Aquarius docks on Sunday, Efe news agency reports.

They will then be given a choice as to whether to go on to France if it is established that they have a claim to asylum, Efe quoted the French foreign minister as saying.

[bold]Migration reform is likely to be a key topic at a meeting of EU leaders later this month, as many countries continue to grapple with the political fallout caused by an influx of migrants in recent years.[/bold]

Italy's populist coalition - and in particular its interior minister, the right-wing League party leader Matteo Salvini - has taken a hard-line approach to immigration, resulting in the diplomatic row over the fate of the Aquarius.

Population of Europe currently: 600,000,000

Population of Europe in 2050 if all immigration ends immediately: 450,000,000 A drop of 25% of total population.

The population of Russia has already dropped by 20% over the past 25 years.

People here arguing against immigrants don't understand that capitalism only works in the context of increasing population. Without immigrants, Europe will become poorer and poorer, with more and more elderly supported by fewer and fewer workers and young people. Even so, under the most generous estimate of immigrants and the highest possible birthrates of those immigrants , there is no country of Europe that would be anywhere close to 50% Muslim by 2050. The most Muslim countries of Europe would be about 25% - the majority, 10-15%. But there is no way that that generous estimate will hold. With the increasing right wing and xenophobic European parties gaining control, the most likely estimates are that the most Muslim countries of Europe will be 20% Muslim by 2050, and most others will be well under 10%. That doesn't solve the underlying economic problem, which is that Europe is depopulating. In nearly every nation, rural communities are dying. There are many ghost towns, hundreds of thousands of empty houses. In the dreams of the right wing leaders, the white people in Europe will have a huge baby boom and will start popping out 4-6 babies per woman They have no evidence to show that that will happen. Judging by the trends of the past 50 years, women will average about 1 baby - nowhere close to replacement level. The Muslim immigrant families which come from nations where 4-5 babies per woman is average, very quickly drop down to 2.5 babies per woman or less when they arrive in Europe, with a good deal of evidence that that birth rate will continue to fall.

But there are a ton of Boris-trolls here, just spouting the same divisive message they always spout, so I know that actual facts vs. opinions will be shouted down immediately.

January was a particularly violent month in Sweden. A 63-year-old man was killed in Stockholm by a hand grenade lying in the street. A Dutch exchange student was hit by a stray bullet during an execution-style killing at a pizza restaurant in Uppsala. In Gothenburg, a hand grenade was thrown into a flat and exploded in the kitchen — the same predominantly immigrant-populated suburb where an eight-year-old British boy was killed in a grenade attack less than two years ago. In Malmö, a grenade was tossed at a police station and exploded outside. So it has not, so far, been a very happy new year.

It took days for police to acknowledge the extent of the mass attacks on women celebrating New Year’s Eve in Cologne. The Germans were lucky; in Sweden, similar attacks have been taking place for more than a year and the authorities are still playing catch up. Only now is the truth emerging, both about the attacks and the cover-ups. Stefan Löfven, our Prime Minister, has denounced a ‘double betrayal’ of women and has promised an investigation. But he ought to be asking this: what made the police and even journalists cover up the truth?

White Europe is in a state of decay due to immigration. The rapidly expanding population of impoverished Africans and Middle Easterners will lead to increased immigration over the next decade. These cultures do not espouse views based on the Enlightenment and secular humanism and thus Europe as we know will fade away.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 159June 17, 2018 7:01 AM

Just to be clear, Germany had many Muslim immigrants before the Syrian refugees entered. So we're talking cross-purposes here. There are 4.4 million Muslims in Germany - mostly Turks and other nationalities who have been arriving for the past 45 years. 2.6 millions of those Muslim immigrants now have German citizenship, and their children speak German fluently and have attended German schools their whole lives. Only 1 million Syrian refugees were brought in under Merkel's efforts to provide humanitarian relief. So the current wave of refugees will take several years to achieve jobs, although most are receiving language training. Many are also being "hired" as trainees for routine work that doesn't need language proficiency, but that status will not show up as jobs for them for the purposes of statistics.

by Anonymousreply 160June 17, 2018 7:04 AM

White Europe is in a state of decay because white women in Europe are not having a replacement level of children. Since 30% of European women will not get married in their lifetimes, that means that the 70% who do get married would need to have 3-4 children each to replace the current population of white people. That has NOTHING to do with immigration. White Europe will dwindle in numbers and importance because of the choices that people have made in their personal lives, and they have the right to do so. Of course involvement with the men in their lives, and the economic situations in the countries where they live influence these decisions. All the hand-wringing in the world will not solve it. Nor will all the bashing of other nationalities and cultures. Of course, in an ideal world, the developed nations would work mightily to improve living conditions, education, incomes, and quality of life in developing nations so as to bring them up and keep people living where they were born. So far, there is no evidence that we are living in an ideal world.

by Anonymousreply 161June 17, 2018 7:13 AM

R160 Many of the refugees are Afghanis/other muslims with a 5th grade education, at most. Learning a very different language when you are essentially a semi-literate concrete thinker with limited abstract abilities is quite hard. This will be a major road block to these folks entering the workforce.

Also the majority of muslim women immigrants will not be entering the workforce. They will not be allowed to by their spouses/father and anyways since in that culture their primary role is to procreate so they will need to stay home to care for the 5-10 children. So you will have very large and very poor families with only one low-wage earner that will rely on benefits for most of their lives.

by Anonymousreply 162June 17, 2018 7:13 AM

Germany has a lot of migrants-5 million from Russia alone. The Jewish girl just raped and murdered was the child of migrants from Russia.

The least integrated migrants in Germany are Turks, with very high levels of unemployment. Turkish children born in Germany often start school with no German language skills.

People here arguing against immigrants don't understand that capitalism only works in the context of increasing population.

A drop in population is not a bad thing. Especially now that automation will be taking over so many low skilled jobs. See Japan.

If Italy needs more births, then Italians should be given benefits to reproduce.

If the country needs immigrants... then thereshould be programs to lure qualified people from around the world, especially from cultures that are more comparable.

Uncontrolled mass migration from Africa is not the solution. It only creates more poverty.

by Anonymousreply 164June 17, 2018 10:31 AM

by Anonymousreply 165June 17, 2018 10:32 AM

The gastarbeiter, Turkish workers, were never suppose to settle in Germany. In a failed attempt to avoid culture clash and social problems, successive German governments quietly offered Turks generous financial incentives to return home, which they continue to do both both with Turks and more recent Muslim "migrants". A few Muslim "migrants", upset that they weren't receiving their freebies fast enough, have returned from whence they came. Germany now finds itself with an increasingly hostile population in its midst for which it has no response or solution, its citizens, subjected to on-going attacks and terror, ignored by both their government and media. Given that this same scenario is being repeated in Italy, France, Britain, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark and the UK, it should be no surprise that voters are turning to political parties and organisations that listen to their questions and concerns.

Italians in San Francisco being isolated formed their own country formed a bank that would lend to working people not just the rich and it was originally called Bank of Italy in 1904. It expanded to other communities as the first chain of banks in the U.S. and eventually it was bought out by WASPS and renamed Bank of America.

R174 In Britain's case, it would mean the potential loss of trillions of pounds in investments in everything from property to education to political parties to media by Muslim despots from the Atlantic to the Arafura Sea. With other countries in Western Europe, it would mean public debate about migrant policies going back 40 years and the absence of reaction/action in the face of decades of increasing social problems and worse, government and media collusion to trivialize and hide those problems. It would also bring into question the EU's contribution and culpability in the migrant mess. Obviously a quagmire that no Euro politician or medium wants to pursue.

Unlike their EU counterparts, Russian men pulled the Afghans out of the club and starred beating them for insulting their (Russian) women. Police were called. When the police determined what the fight was about, they started beating the Afghan asylum seekers. Several of the Afghans were hospitalized. All were arrested.

The EU is solely responsible for decades of woefully misguided migrant and human rights policies. Their goal can be gleaned from a controversial yet eye-opening statement by Federica Mogherini, the Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy who publicly stated "Islam holds a place in our Western societies. Islam belongs in Europe. It holds a place in Europe's history, in our culture, in our food and—what matters most—in Europe's present and future. Like it or not, this is the reality. I am not afraid to say that political Islam should be part of the picture. Religion plays a role in politics – not always for good, not always for bad. Religion can be part of the process. What makes the difference is whether the process is democratic or not."

by Anonymousreply 216June 17, 2018 2:37 PM

It's the same in France and Britain, r216. Muslim migrants have never really assimilated; just look at Britain, multiculturism was huge failure which simply gave many Muslim communties an excuse to isolate themselves even more. In many of these places you had tribal politics being brought over from their home countries. They'd elect representatives from their own communties who were only interested in looking out for their own.

All they are interested in is building little Pakistan, Kashmir, or Turkey. They're completely hostile to the host nations that they reside in, and the second and third generations are even worse.

They are not coming to Italy for asylum. Moreover, Italy has no colossus in a harbor beckoning the "tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to be free." These are healthy and hearty young Muslim males seeking to extend the reach and power of their cult.

by Anonymousreply 222June 17, 2018 4:57 PM

They'll just find another way in. When the Greeks clamped down on the migrants that's when they started heading for Italy. Most of the migrant boats were unsafe and just left to drift. The Italian coastguard was rescuing them and that's why it escalated.

They need to let them drown, that's the only way they'll get the message. Once a couple of hundred have died they'll stop trying. Even better, they should dredge some of the corpses up and float them on to the beaches of Libya, that way they'll really get the message.

How much is just moving people from EU country to EU country going to accomplish? The camp at Calais became a disaster and a threat to shipping, so those individuals were simply dispersed elsewhere. Italy and Malta refused these several hundred, so they were sent to Spain instead. What happens after 45 days?

I cannot imagine that there is a natural end to economic migrants, esp if the rewards are great and the transit is being provided by Soros funded NGOs. What is happening to the women, children and elderly that these men are leaving behind? Has anyone reported on that?

by Anonymousreply 234June 19, 2018 9:06 AM

[quote]What is happening to the women, children and elderly that these men are leaving behind? Has anyone reported on that?

These are tribal societies. The women, children and elderly are back home being cared for by their extended family/clan. Sometimes they are sent for/reunited under reunification schemes, sometimes they remain in their country and the male remits some money home while setting up yet another family in whatever country he's found work.

Also keep in mind that many males from tribal societies flee because they are expected to support not only their immediate families, but their extended families as well. For example, it's considered socially shameful, if your third cousin once removed comes to you for money and you refuse him.

If some of the people here would bother to look at the crime statistics of Germany, they'd discover that crime in Germany has been declining, even in the face of this massive influx of migrants. German crime statistics reveal steep rise in violent and political crimes

Germany has recorded a significant rise in politically motivated crimes by foreigners, including jihadis. The report revealed that rise of migrant criminal suspects in Germany has soared by more than 50 percent.

Germany's latest police crime statistics report revealed that some 3,372 cases of politically or ideologically motivated crimes by foreigners were recorded in 2016 - a number up 66.5 percent compared to 2015. The overall number of politically driven crimes had also increased compared to the previous year, by 6.6 percent.

German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said that these statistics - reaching 41,549 instances of such offences in 2016 - were shedding light on an "unacceptable" trend.

Germany was the target of a string of jihadi attacks in 2016, the deadliest being last December's assault on a Christmas market in Berlin, which saw 12 people killed. A Tunisian national had rammed a truck into the crowds gathered at the market. The attack was later claimed by the so-called "Islamic State" (IS) terror organization.

Beyond jihadist attacks, however, Germany has also seen an increase in violence between minority communities of Turks and Kurds living in the country, with Turkey's social split over President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's increasingly authoritarian rule spilling over into Germany.

De Maiziere referred to the rise in crime as a "barometer of the overall (political) atmosphere," as threat levels remain high.

Rise in violent crime

The report, which was presented by de Maiziere in Berlin, also highlighted a considerable growth in murder and manslaughter and in rape and sexual assault cases. The statistics were up 14.3 percent and 12.8 percent from 2015, respectively. The numbers were, however, more dramatic among asylum seekers: crimes committed by refugees were up 52.7 percent in 2016 compared to 2015.

"There is nothing there to sugarcoat," de Maiziere said, while stressing that the majority of both foreign and German-born offenders in these categories were young men. "There is an overall rise in disrespect, violence, and hate," de Maiziere added.

"Those who commit serious offences here forfeit their right to stay here," Interior Minister de Maiziere announced. A report by the German Federal Office of Federal Investigation (BKA) published at the end of 2016 had claimed that migrant crime was decreasing.

The interior minister pointed out that the vast majority of refugees and other foreigners in Germany were leading respectable lives, adding that those that needed Germany's help the most, like Syrians fleeing the civil war in their country, were "underrepresented" in the violent crime statistics. More than a million migrants arrived in Germany in the last two years.

The number of break-ins and home invasions had meanwhile decreased, according to the report, by 9.5 per cent compared to 2015 - which had seen the largest number of break-ins since the 1990s.

No-go zones are "crime free". An event can only be a crime if it's reported.

And the feeling of unease that a German woman will feel walking through a Muslim neighborhood won't make it into crime statistics.

Immigration of alien cultures has an impact on society that doesn't always turn up in crime statistics.

by Anonymousreply 240June 19, 2018 9:59 AM

Crime statistics are going to be subjective and inaccurate when law enforcement, media and government go out of their way to hide the identity of certain perpetrators.

One reason they may want to go to Germany is that it has the strongest economy, low unemployment and actually welcomes them. Italy, France and Spain already have high unemployment and a sclerotic job market which is their own fault. Global refugees take long detours through Latin America to reach the US

Recent events involving Syrian refugees arriving at North American borders have brought to light the increased global traffic along the continent’s migrant routes

When eight Syrians handed themselves in to immigration authorities on the Texas-Mexico border last week, the incident was held up by conservative politicians as a troubling reflection of the new threats facing the US after the Paris terror attacks.

Similarly, news that five Syrian men had been detained in Honduras with false Greek passports was presented as a novel – and potentially sinister – development.

But both groups are most likely part of a steady stream of migrants from around the world, who have in recent years quietly started to follow the well-trodden routes used by Latin Americans to reach the United States.

As well as Syrians, migrants from Nepal, Somalia, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Pakistan now regularly make the long detour through Latin America, joining the flood of Central American migrants seeking refuge from violence.

Officials say that the nationalities using the migrant routes vary as humanitarian or political crises flare up around the world: the number of Syrians started to increase since the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad began in 2011, and has ballooned as the civil war has worsened; more Cubans have sought to reach the US since Havana began to reestablish diplomatic relations with Washington.

“Over the past decade, Latin America has definitely become a route of entry to the US for Asian and African migrants, said Ernesto Rodríguez, a migration expert at Mexico Autonomous Institute of Technology (ITAM).

That shift is becoming a serious concern in the region, prompting authorities from transit countries to call an emergency meeting on “extra-territorial” migrants in Costa Rica on Tuesday.

A Colombian official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the number of Cubans was a concern but that the meeting would also address concerns about “other nationalities”.

“By volume they aren’t even 2% of the irregular migrants that transit through our countries, but given recent events, there is concern that some could pose security threats,” the official said.

Over the past decade Colombia has become a major hub for non-Latin American migrants headed toward the United States because of its strategic position and abundance of criminal trafficking networks.

One US Immigration and Customs Enforcement official in Colombia called the smuggling organizations along the route a “federation of independent operators” who hand groups of migrants off to each other, each charging for one leg of the journey.

[bold]The voyage from Asia or Africa to the US via these routes can cost as much as $12,000, Colombian investigators have found.[/bold]

The routes vary and are constantly shifting: the Syrians detained in Honduras passed through Turkey, Brazil, Argentina and Costa Rica before reaching Tegucigalpa, where they have since claimed political asylum, saying that their lives were in danger in Syria.

[bold]Many migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East fly to Brazil, Venezuela or Ecuador, whose visa requirements are relatively lax. Travelling over land through Colombia, they brave the dense jungle of the Darien Gap to reach Panama and continue their journey northward.[/bold]

“Most travel with smugglers who choose and change their routes depending on legal options in different countries,” says Rodriguez. “When Ecuador removed visa requirements for all nationalities, it became a major entry point for traffickers.”

R246, instead of blocking the posts that are causing your cognitive dissonance, why don't you actually do some research, which isn't very difficult. You will not learn the truth about what is going on in the NYTs, Washington Post, or Guardian but the information is out there. Sometimes the story is just too outrageous to ignore, even by the those three news outlets, like the mass sexual assaults on New Years Eve in Cologne or at the summer music festivals in Sweden. Of course, the islamic child rape gangs in the UK are getting some coverage, it took only 10 years and the horrific assaults on thousands of non-muslim, primarily white girls. Or the beheading of Father Hamil in France on an altar of a church in a small town in France. Of course, the larger islamic terror attacks get coverage: Bataclan, Charlie Hebdo, the Berlin Christmas Market, London Bridge massacre, Ariana Grande concert, Nice, Pulse night club in Orlando, San Bernadino, the WTC in 1993 and 2001, the failed NYC subway suicide bomber and the attack on the west side bike path last year. But there are many, many more murders, stabbings, rapes, acts of intimidation that occur daily that never get reported in the news sources I suspect you read because inconvenient truths that don't adhere to a certain narrative are ignored. I think even you might be starting to get the picture.

An open mind can be challenging, uncomfortable and, in this case, disturbing, but it is how one learns the truth.

by Anonymousreply 263June 19, 2018 4:06 PM

They do the same thing here in the US with fudging the crime statistics to hide illegal immigrant crime. Should one listen to NPR, or every other media outlet trying to push the New World Order, illegal immigrants, especially Latino, are veritable angels.

IRL, not so much. I interact with Latino illegal immigrants almost every day and listen to Spanish-language radio. The men tend to be very macho, and try to dominate their wives. Counter to their usual narrative, NPR did a piece(s) on the extremely high rates of sexual assault that female illegal farmworkers face.

I agree with posters upthread that these heart-breaking optics that we are being carpet-bombed with by the media are very deliberate, and well-timed, in the push to get Europeans (and Americans) to agree to unfettered immigration, which is not in the "native" populations best interest, quite the opposite.

by Anonymousreply 264June 19, 2018 4:38 PM

And R263, maybe you should have opposed the wars in primarily Muslim countries then?

You type out a litany of "Muslim" crime yet ignore that we have killed, maimed, displaced or otherwise ruined the lives of tens of millions of human beings in Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, etc., and ad nauseam in the last 17 years alone.

I am R264 and an opponent of illegal immigration because rapid mass migration benefits no one, but I am also an opponent of war, and we are the ones who started or aided the wars.

by Anonymousreply 265June 19, 2018 4:48 PM

R265 continues to post cause and effect nonsense. Muslims are not attacking and terrorizing non-Muslims throughout Europe, Africa and Asia because of Western "crimes". They are doing it because of Islam.

by Anonymousreply 266June 19, 2018 4:55 PM

No, you are wrong R266. I have lived, worked and traveled in majority and minority Muslim countries. The horrific images of war that Americans never see, even though it's our tax dollars at work, are broadcast all over Muslim countries. And, as I noted, we have killed, maimed, displaced, ruined the lives of tens of millions of people, a good percentage of whom are Muslim.

And you are lying, because so many of these terrorists are disaffected, mentally-ill young men, who have mentioned during their attacks that the attacks were for (as an example) "Syria."

by Anonymousreply 267June 19, 2018 5:26 PM

Stop, R265, I know a lot more about history than you do. Learn about the islamic conquest that has been going on for 1,400 years starting with the mass murderer mohammade himself. You do know mohammade ordered and participated in the beheading of between 600 and 900 Jewish men. It is proudly reported in the hadith. Look up the battle of the trench, doll. You do know mohammade raped a 9 year old, don't you? He commanded at least 100 military raids. The odd thing about mohammade is that he became MORE violent as time and his prophecies from the islamic god continued (sounds very Jim Jonesian to me), not less.

From the beginning, the religion of peace had been spread through massacres, violence, slavery (saudi arabia got around to abolishing slavery in 1962, on paper at least), intimidation and all sorts of horrors. Here is a book you could never bring yourself to read. The islamic horror show makes all other horrors of history pale in comparison. Things are changing quickly, sweetheart.

And despite all the blood, horror and hell on earth, islam has produced next to nothing (don't try the nonsense that they invented everything including the kitchen sink).

Also, R265, I did protest against the war in iraq at every march I could in NYC and DC, sent letters, made comments in newspapers. The NYTs reporters and opinion writers blatantly lied and promoted every lie coming out of the White House and Pentagon. You still had to read between the lines a bit back then to connect the dots. Now the propaganda is so obvious and on the front page, that it is boring.

This islamic shit has been going on for 1,400 years and around the globe. It is continuing today in the Philippines, China, Thailand, Russia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and the US. The world is finally saying that islam is the problem and we've had enough! Everywhere there is islam there is war and strife. Look up the term "blood borders." Wow, there are people here who claim that "only THEY have the true story" - because, of course, if you can some crackpot on the internet claiming it, of course it is true. Yes, the media often gets it wrong, but there are long -term corrections that are built into it. Journalists LOVE to expose the mistakes that other journalists have made. What doesn't get corrected? Bullshit on the internet. Buried in some of the actual news stories above are some important nuggets of information. Even in the case of migrants being over represented in the commission of violent crime in Germany, is the sentence that the most recent migrants, the Syrians, are "under-represented" in crime. Meaning, they are not contributing to the crime problems.

US crime has been dropping for decades, including violent crime, but you would not get that from this thread, where every immigrant poses an immediate danger to every American. leading to an explosion of violent crime that is destroying our country. Again, just because you read it on the internet or you type it here, doesn't make it true.

by Anonymousreply 273June 19, 2018 6:05 PM

R272 And many of those migrants identified as "Syrian" weren't. Merkel's "Syrians go to the front of the line" announcement sparked a huge trade in counterfeit Syrian identity papers in Greece and Turkey. In addition to the migrants who tossed away any identification hoping for better deal as a "Syrian" or "minor".

To all those foaming at the mouth over Islam, ever read the Old Testament? The basis of Christianity was full of savagery. Many modern-day Christians, but especially Christian Zionists, look more to the Old Testament than the New.

And then there are the Jewish-only religious texts; I suggest that all who think that Islam has a monopoly on craziness read them.

by Anonymousreply 275June 19, 2018 6:28 PM

"Wow, there are people here who claim that "only THEY have the true story""

What a ridiculous statement, R271. Everyone has an opinion, just as you do. Many of us have participated in this history in one way or another, had our eyes opened, and have since read a great deal on the topic....scholarly, well researched and well sourced from western and ex-muslim sources.

Facts matter. I

by Anonymousreply 278June 19, 2018 6:52 PM

R275, who cares what is written in an old testament, look at who is DOING all this horrific shit at the behest of their god while the rest of their zombies give silent support....it ain't Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Taoist, or Shintos. Uhm, let's see...who's left?

Besides, a few lines in the Old Testament cannot compare to the constant orders to do horrific shit to specific people written in the koran and hadith. Here is a significant comparison:

Jesus: Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Mohammade: Stone the bitch.

by Anonymousreply 279June 19, 2018 8:19 PM

R279, you've obviously never read the Old Testament, the Torah, the Talmud.

Jesus was in reaction to the violent god of the Old Testament, so try not to quote him to support your hatred of all Muslims.

In fact, Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet and that his mother Mary sits at the right hand of God.

Jews just slaughtered a number of Palestinians in the world's largest prison camp, the Gaza Strip. Since they do it on the regular, no one takes notice.

Israel and her fan club lied the US, and the dumbshits who allied with the US, into Iraq War II.

Christians fought Iraq War II and Christians sitting in Nevada regularly drop bombs on wedding parties in Pakistan.

You're obviously a Zionist or a water-carrier for Zionists, R279, trying to get us all riled up against the Muslims in order to garner support for an attack on Iran.

I do not think that it's a good idea to import Muslims into Europe, for one thing because I don't believe that mass migrations are good for any country.

But, from experience, I can categorically say that not every Muslim is the Devil. In fact, most are quite nice.

by Anonymousreply 281June 19, 2018 8:46 PM

ISLAM

Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life.

Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of the other components.

Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges.

When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as well.

Here's how it works.

As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:

United States -- Muslim 0.6%

Australia -- Muslim 1.5%

Canada -- Muslim 1.9%

China -- Muslim 1.8%

Italy -- Muslim 1.5%

Norway -- Muslim 1.8%

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs. This is happening in:

Denmark -- Muslim 2%

Germany -- Muslim 3.7%

United Kingdom -- Muslim 2.7%

Spain -- Muslim 4%

Thailand -- Muslim 4.6%

>From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves -- along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:

France -- Muslim 8%

Philippines -- Muslim 5%

Sweden -- Muslim 5%

Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%

The Netherlands -- Muslim 5.5%

Trinidad & Tobago -- Muslim 5.8%

by Anonymousreply 282June 19, 2018 9:26 PM

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris , we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam , with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections, in:

Guyana -- Muslim 10%

India -- Muslim 13.4%

Israel -- Muslim 16%

Kenya -- Muslim 10%

Russia -- Muslim 15%

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:

Ethiopia -- Muslim 32.8%

At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:

Bosnia -- Muslim 40%

Chad -- Muslim 53.1%

Lebanon -- Muslim 59.7%

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:

Albania -- Muslim 70%

Malaysia -- Muslim 60.4%

Qatar -- Muslim 77.5%

Sudan -- Muslim 70%

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in:

Bangladesh -- Muslim 83%

Egypt -- Muslim 90%

Gaza -- Muslim 98.7%

Indonesia -- Muslim 86.1%

Iran -- Muslim 98%

Iraq -- Muslim 97%

Jordan -- Muslim 92%

Morocco -- Muslim 98.7%

Pakistan -- Muslim 97%

Palestine -- Muslim 99%

Syria -- Muslim 90%

Tajikistan -- Muslim 90%

Turkey -- Muslim 99.8%

United Arab Emirates -- Muslim 96%

100% will usher in the peace of 'Dar-es-Salaam' -- the Islamic House of Peace. Here there's supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:

Afghanistan -- Muslim 100%

Saudi Arabia -- Muslim 100%

Somalia -- Muslim 100%

Yemen -- Muslim 100%

Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.

And as terrifying as stupid Americans and Virtue-Signallers who want to import their insanity.

by Anonymousreply 284June 19, 2018 9:34 PM

R280, of course I have read those. The big difference is that the violence in the OT is largely historical. The violence in the koran is directive,,,,,the islamic god telling muslims, through the mass murdering islamic prophet, to kill non-believers (specifically mentioning Jews) or enslave them if they refuse to convert. This is EXACTLY what mohammade did and tens of thousands of muslims have donesince then. ISIS and all the islamic terrorist acts around the world are more islamic than mecca.

At least Christians and Jews, as people of the book, were allowed to choose between conversion to islam or serfdom, others, like Hindus, Buddhists and all other religions had a choice only between conversion or death. It is estimated that the islamic conquest is responsible for the death of between 250 million and 350 million people. Don't even get me started on the muslim slave trade.

Who gives a shit what muslims say about Jesus and Mary. Killing us is a muslim's ticket to paradise and Christians are being raped and murdered because muslims believe it is their allah given right to do so.

The islamic charade is up, my friend. More suggested reading.....

And I'm not worried about the nice Christians and Jews. You know, the ones who don't take the extreme views of their religions. Sadly, extremist Christians allied with Israel and the GOP, and extremist Jewish settlers, control huge portions of the political narrative in the US and Israel.

And liberal Jews, not quite as allied with Israel, are disproportionately represented in the US media and the US government.

Like Ol Chuck Lion of Israel Schumer, Senate Minority Leader. Or Wolf AIPAC Blitzer, who is apparently the only anchor on CNN.

And so the US and its satraps wage Israel's wars. And millions of Muslims die. And millions of other Muslims get pissed off.

True story.

There was a Lebanese fellow I used to chat with pre-9/11 in a Politics channel on mIRC and it frustrated the hell out of him that only he thought Ferdinand and Isabella's anti-antisemitism 400 years ago (and similar historical hate the Jews stories) was relevant to today. He was educated, articulate, and probably a very good fellow one to one, but even he basically was living in the Middle Ages when Islam was ascendant. It explains much about the last 20 years.

R282, I’m going to share an observation I just made this afternoon. I live on the Upper East Side. Noticed an unprecedented number of black women wearing headscarves and two black men with the chinstrap beards. Two of them were coworkers behind a Starbucks counter.

Until very recently, the bescarved women I’ve seen were few and far between and Arab. Just an observation.

R351

Deutsche Bank might bring down the euro, and the EU with it, over the next few days/weeks.

The big scary part is called “counterparty loss”. All of the big US Banks are big holders of CDOs that will be worthless, and the sudden write down could cripple balance sheets.

by Anonymousreply 359June 22, 2018 4:26 AM

Fantastic speech, r354

She sounds positively Hayekian.

Free trade helps everyone.

R356

Merkel is done. The AfD will be the deal maker after the elections are called. They will have to find partners but strange bedfellows are fun!

Those African migrants are less than 1% of the Italian population yet they are being blamed for unemployment (just which jobs are they taking?), declining living standards and the general mess Italy has become? Someone should just give it to Italy straight: your population has been in decline for over a quarter century. Shut up and start popping out babies. These unwanted migrants are going to be necessary to do work that Italians don't want to do, including taking care of your increasingly abandoned elderly and invalid.

[quote]Those African migrants are less than 1% of the Italian population

That statistic is without meaning. The majority of the African migrants here are not here legally, therefore they are not counted as part of the population. And please tell me: when was the last census taken?

Also: even if the percentage were 1%... the migrants are not evenly distributed throughout the country. Ask some of the hill towns in Tuscany that suddenly find themselves with 25% of their population African.

[quote]yet they are being blamed for unemployment (just which jobs are they taking?)

Straw man. I have never heard of them being blamed for unemployment. Mass immigration is however being blamed for a lowering of wages. Not just in Italy, but in all of Europe.

[quote] These unwanted migrants are going to be necessary to do work that Italians don't want to do.

The future is automation. And if Italy does need immigrants, the country can open immigration to qualified people from all over the world.

Rather than having unwanted migrants... lets have wanted migrants: people who are vetted.

by Anonymousreply 362June 22, 2018 8:50 AM

Brava r362.

by Anonymousreply 363June 22, 2018 11:17 AM

Even better, vetted immigrants who follow immigration laws. Migrants are typically people who move for work. Immigrants wish to integrate into their new country.

Italy's hard-line interior minister has refused to let a rescue boat with 224 migrants on board dock in Italy, saying those on board 'will only see Italy on a postcard'.

Matteo Salvini's latest move to clamp down on arrivals from the Mediterranean comes a week after he turned away another foreign ship, the Aquarius, which was carrying 630 migrants and had to reroute to Spain.

Salvini said the latest ship, operated by German aid group Mission Lifeline, had loaded the migrants in Libyan waters against the instructions of Italy's coast guard.

He said: 'Italian ports are no longer at the disposal of traffickers. Open the Maltese ports! Open the French ports.'

Salvini has likened such rescue ships to taxi services that finish the job for migrant smugglers.

Some 640,000 migrants have landed in Italy since 2014. The numbers are down dramatically this year, to some 14,500, more than 80 per cent lower than in 2017.

An SWG poll this week showed two-thirds of Italians agree humanitarian boats should not be allowed in the country's ports.

Fuck tye germans

by Anonymousreply 366June 23, 2018 3:34 PM

Good! R365. They are not humanitarian boats. People need to stop having so many fucking kids and having them into fucked up, impoverished, brutal, uneducated lives. Africa's population is approximately 1.2 billion. The population will more than double by 2050.

I'm done feeding other people's kids.

I think Germans feel bad about their history, so they go overboard and run those "rescue" boats in the Mediterranean.

Cute rescuer.

I watched a video of these 200 migrants being transferred from the raft to the charity ship. Only one woman and one child were taken off. I saw them as they took them first and alone on a smaller vessel before going back to transfer the others. The rest were men in their 20-30s.

Are all of these men gay Christians fleeing persecution?

by Anonymousreply 371June 24, 2018 12:21 AM

Germans go way overboard on the rescuing thing. And the costs are borne by the Mediterranean countries. Jeeze.

by Anonymousreply 372June 24, 2018 12:24 AM

Nah, Soros runs the rescue boats, R369. He plays with humanity like he plays with the currency markets. It is not organic in the slightest.

The goal is ORDO AB CHAO. To create order out of chaos, first the chaos must be created. Or in this case, ferried over from Libya to the EU or, alternatively, brought up through Mexico.

He also funds T causes, additional chaos vectors in society. How else would language be criminalized, a la Orwell?

Macron and the É𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝒅'𝒂𝒅𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 don't give a damn.

Macron said European cooperation had managed to cut migration flows by close to 80 percent and problems stemmed from "secondary" movements of migrants within Europe.

"The reality is that Europe is not experiencing a migration crisis of the same magnitude as the one it experienced in 2015," the French president said. "A country like Italy has not at all the same migratory pressure as last year. ... The crisis we are experiencing today in Europe is a political crisis ... tied to secondary movements between European countries."

But Italy's Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini said his country had faced 650,000 arrivals by sea over the past four years, 430,000 asylum requests and the hosting of 170,000 "alleged refugees" for an overall cost of more than 5 billion euros ($5.8 billion).

"If for the arrogant President Macron this is not a problem, we invite him to stop insulting and to show instead some concrete generosity by opening up France's many ports and letting children, men and women through at Ventimiglia," he said in a statement, referring to the northeastern Italian town at the border with France.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador, likely to be elected the next President of Mexico has called mass immigration to the US a human right. Will he be the Merkel of North America?

by Anonymousreply 375June 24, 2018 1:51 AM

[quote]Andrés Manuel López Obrador, likely to be elected the next President of Mexico has called mass immigration to the US a human right.

Of course he has. Mexico want these people out of the country. Let the US deal with them.

by Anonymousreply 376June 24, 2018 2:05 AM

Nancy Pelosi approves this message.

by Anonymousreply 377June 24, 2018 2:13 AM

Mexico and the Central American countries are playing a pretty dicey game. The US pumps millions into these countries every year. Trump has already cut aid to Pakistan and Palestine. He'll do the same to these countries unless they stop allowing or in some cases encouraging their citizens to come illegally.

Mexico will pay for the wall, it will come out of its aid.

by Anonymousreply 378June 24, 2018 4:23 PM

R367, these backwards people breed like rabbits (in part) because the women aren’t allowed to say “no” to sex.

by Anonymousreply 379June 24, 2018 5:59 PM

There's too many people in the world as it is. It's been estimated that when the world's population reaches about 9 billion the planet will no longer be able to sustain it. The current trend in Europe and the other developed economies has been to have less children which is a good thing. However, most of these migrants have brought a dramatic increase in the birth rate, and there is simply not enough resources to support them.

by Anonymousreply 380June 24, 2018 6:23 PM

R375, Obrador is terrifying. + Trump, it's going to get very ugly. Things will escalate dramatically.

Ah, he wants the whole world coming to the US as a "right."

t“Very soon, with the triumph of our movement, we’ll defend migrants from Mexico, Central America and the whole continent and all migrants from around the world who need to leave their towns to go and make their life in the US,” he told a rally in the northern city of Culiacán. “It’s a human right we are going to defend.”

Back to Italy....

Lega & M5S just completely booted the center left from power in Tuscany & Emilia-Romagna local & provincial elections. These were previous PD (left) strongholds, some for more than 30 yrs.

I was in Italy a few m months ago the train conductors went though the cars and kicked off the m migrants who got on and tried to get a free ride to their destinations.

by Anonymousreply 387September 17, 2018 11:39 AM

Was there resistance, R387? Did they have police with them?

Curious what S@r@s may do in retaliation - keep an eye on the currency I suppose.

by Anonymousreply 388September 17, 2018 12:34 PM

Amazed that this thread is still standing, hasn't been closed and deleted, as most of the other threads about Euro migrant issues have.

by Anonymousreply 389September 17, 2018 12:40 PM

R386. Great news. Get the fuck out.

by Anonymousreply 390September 17, 2018 2:26 PM

Fine. Then other countries can kick out the Italian migrants so they can be blessed with fewer carbs, Catholic priests, hair gel and techno music.

by Anonymousreply 391September 17, 2018 2:39 PM

No R388 there was very little resistance I think most of the migrants knew that if they make a big fuss they would be arrested and sent to immigration camps for deportation.

by Anonymousreply 392September 17, 2018 2:50 PM

Via! Via!

by Anonymousreply 393September 17, 2018 3:22 PM

r391 is Angela Merkel, wincing in pain.

Great so surely all of you who think this is great will move to Italy right? It's a migrant free paradise now.

Please go.

by Anonymousreply 396September 19, 2018 3:24 AM

Now if they could just kick out the Italians the country would be a wonderful place to visit.

by Anonymousreply 397September 19, 2018 3:31 AM

This is what African migrants do in Spain: become illegal street vendors selling counterfeit goods.

No country needs that shit, the only ones benefiting are the Chinese mafias that import the merchandise

The EU needs to reach its own end of history. Just unified, wealthy, sealed to immigration, decreasing population because of demographic transition, everything increasingly automated, forests replanted, utopian social democracy. Protected by a robotic army and intelligence services.

Operated like a perfect machine from Brussels by computer-like technocrats.

by Anonymousreply 399September 19, 2018 3:36 AM

Why are half of the comments in this thread "lined" out? What is the purpose of that? If they are truly offensive I wish Muriel would remove them as used to be the custom. The lines through the print merely make it very difficult for us elders to read the print, and inevitably I end up with an ice pick head ache in my left temple which is adjacent to my weaker eye.

Is there some reason why the offensive posts are no longer removed all together?

by Anonymousreply 400September 19, 2018 3:46 AM

Those in the photo at r398 should be gathered up and taken directly to the airport Its sickening to see this kind of scenario playing out throughout W Europe.
