For those of you talking about improving mental health care, it is only going to get worse. Half of psychiatrists in the US are over 55 and beginning to retire. I am not yet there, but I only see patients a few days a week; I perform disability reviews from the comfort of my home the rest of the week. I have already been assaulted by a patient like Reinking, and will not treat patients with schizophrenia in my office as it is too unsafe. Inpatient psychiatric units are essentially fight clubs with patients attacking staff and each other. I will never set foot in another inpatient unit after being assaulted.

Reinking doesn't go to court until Wednesday. He's simply been booked into jail on what seem to be the standard bond amount set by law for a given offense. Four counts of murder - $500k each. The judicial officer decides whether or not to hold without bond just like one did for Samsom. I'm sure Reinking will also be held without bond at his court hearing. Booking cops can't make those kind of detention decisions.

The FBI put local law enforcement in charge of taking the guns after Reinking was found in the White House. He didn't have guns with him but did have them back home. LE took the guns from his home when ordered to, but then returned them to the father.

It seems like the FBI didn't know local LE gave the guns to the father.

No R187, I just am sickened by the racial divide in the country today which is far worse than anything I've seen in my 60 years. And that includes the late sixties. My feeling is: there are enough incidents which ARE racial.
