Hildy's back, bitches!

The new Trading Spaces re-boot trailer is out and all of our faves are back. Hildy's looking haggard, Frank is still quite the heterosexual, and dreamboat Carter is still our dream boat.

Ugh, if they glue straw and shit to walls and ceilings, I’m out.

by Anonymousreply 1January 17, 2018 10:45 AM

Damn, John Giddings looks good.

by Anonymousreply 2January 17, 2018 10:47 AM

Get the straw ready, boys! I’m feeling CREATIVE.

by Anonymousreply 3January 17, 2018 10:57 AM

Why are there so many of them?

by Anonymousreply 4January 17, 2018 11:46 AM

I can't wait for that big queen Frank to make the contestants write stupid sayings and draw flowers on the walls, then watch as the neighbors stare at it in horror.

by Anonymousreply 5January 17, 2018 11:53 AM

They brought the awful Ty Pennington back.

by Anonymousreply 6January 17, 2018 11:56 AM

Ty must be seething that there are better "hunks" than him on the show.

by Anonymousreply 7January 17, 2018 12:58 PM

Looks like Genevieve traded spaces with her old nose!

by Anonymousreply 8January 17, 2018 1:01 PM

Are the gays back?

by Anonymousreply 9January 17, 2018 1:04 PM

r9, as if any of them are straight?

by Anonymousreply 10January 17, 2018 1:06 PM

I meant the openly gay ones R10.

by Anonymousreply 11January 17, 2018 1:09 PM

Yes, Vern is back and she's looking as gay as ever.

by Anonymousreply 12January 17, 2018 1:18 PM

Ty still looks good. The new guys are looking good! Thank God they upped the budget to $2000. I'll be watching.

by Anonymousreply 13January 17, 2018 1:35 PM

I am unreasonably excited about this.

Back when there was an episode of this and then an episode of that goofball "While You Were Out" and then ANOTHER episode of Trading Spaces were heady days.

Just a lot of drinking and yelling at the TV.

by Anonymousreply 14January 17, 2018 1:43 PM

R14 Same here! There was nothing more fun than watching perky little Paige Davis getting super uncomfortable during the reveals where the neighbors despised what had been done to their homes.

by Anonymousreply 15January 17, 2018 1:45 PM

Is Doug back? I am craving me some bedroom decorated a la prison cell.

by Anonymousreply 16January 17, 2018 1:49 PM

Doug's back.

by Anonymousreply 17January 17, 2018 1:50 PM

Doug's unrecognizable in that promo.

by Anonymousreply 18January 17, 2018 1:53 PM

[quote]“What one of our designers does with eggshells is shocking. Dozens and dozens of eggs were harmed,” Howard Lee, TLC’s executive vice president of development and production, said in a recent interview with TV Guide. “Not every episode has a happy ending.

Didn't realize Vern had such a hot hubby. Lucky bish!

by Anonymousreply 20January 18, 2018 5:47 AM

Vern keeps questionable company

R21 That's it. I'm done with Vern.

by Anonymousreply 22January 19, 2018 1:21 PM

For a 65 yr old alcoholic he looks incredible.

[quote] Doug's unrecognizable in that promo.

I'm sure that Doug is the one who slid down that sliding board in low rise jeans, with his ass hanging out.

The husband is the lucky one.

R24 Meh to both.

by Anonymousreply 25January 19, 2018 1:37 PM

R22 That's from an episode of HG TVs Design Star.

Can't believe they're letting Paige Davis back! As I recall they ALL hated her. For her blatant and undeniable stupidity.

by Anonymousreply 27January 19, 2018 1:46 PM

R27 Viewers wouldn’t feel like the reboot is authentic withour Davis. She is annoyingly spritely but that is a big part of the show’s magic. The show is way too cynical for me otherwise, given the joy the designers take in destroying houses.

by Anonymousreply 28January 19, 2018 1:49 PM

I used to get ridiculously tense watching this show.

by Anonymousreply 29January 19, 2018 1:54 PM

So Paige and Hildy and the rest don’t mind that Carter is a sex pest?

Strange. They seem like they’d be on the front lines of the #MeToo movement.

I guess they’ve decided that Carter’s accuser is a liar. How very Trumpy of them.

Come on, Hildy! We're counting on you to turn a living room into a circus tent again! Play the hits! Play the hits!

by Anonymousreply 31January 19, 2018 1:58 PM

This was probably filmed before the allegations, also Christopher Plummer was not available

by Anonymousreply 32January 19, 2018 1:59 PM

I look forward to watching Hildi troll the homeowners once again, but I hope somebody tries to snatch her weave instead of just bursting into tears.

by Anonymousreply 33January 19, 2018 2:02 PM

What is John Gidding doing?

I remember on TWOP the consensus was that Amy was a terrible carpenter.

by Anonymousreply 38January 19, 2018 2:13 PM

R38 How would anyone know? One of my former coworkers made a pilgrimage to a Trading Spaces taping location years ago, and she was upset to see that all the “hot people building stuff” sequences were staged for taping, and everything she saw was actually built off camera by what looked like day laborers. This was before it had occurred to most people that shows like House Hunters are fiction.
